Being a cheap white tea, I wasn’t expecting this tea to be fantastic. It wasn’t, but it was still very pleasant, with a very light, sweet taste. Very soothing and relaxing.
3 Tasting Notes
It may be more watered down and flavored than the loose leaf tea out there, but when you’re on the go and need your caffeine/antioxidant fix you can’t go wrong with this. I’ve noticed though, that it tastes better in a can than in plastic or glass. Very peculiar.
I love green teas, but I was disappointed by this one. I felt the rice in the blend was too overpowering in taste and smell, and I couldn’t really enjoy the TEA. Also, the matcha powder did not blend well at all. I tried stirring it regularly, and steeping the tea in more water in case the water was saturated, but I still ended up with an unpleasant pile of leafy bits at the bottom of my cup. It seems it may not have been ground finely enough.
Steepsters new to “real” green tea should be warned, this tea has a very strong flavor, that is very dark and grassy. It has a brilliant green color and looks fantastic in a glass pitcher/teapot.
Since everyone else seems to love this tea, I’m hoping I just got a mediocre batch. I have tried and love several other teas from Samovar, but this one didn’t do it for me.
