2170 Tasting Notes
I’m not sure what happened, but somehow I ended up with three bags of this blend. Two opened, one still sealed. I managed to finish one of the open bags today, with this cup. I can see now why I still have it after all these years. I don’t really like it. I’m guessing I never really did since I still have so much of it, but I never wrote a note so I guess I don’t really know. It’s both light on flavor (not body, just flavor) and unappetizingly bitter. It does smell nice though – buttery and nutty. I don’t taste anything like cannoli unfortunately.

I have to say, I’m pretty disappointed in this one. I think this might be the first and only Vadham tea I’ve had and it did not live up to my expectations. The aroma and flavor is more cardamom than rose, which is find because I love cardamom. I do wish the rose was more present though and not overwhelmed by the other. My biggest complaint is that this tastes very watered down. It’s not even that the base is light, I think. It’s just watery. I’ll double the tea next time, for sure. One teaspoon was obviously not enough for me. I have a whole tin of this, so hopefully I’ll find a way to enjoy it. Holding my rating until I can try it again with more tea leaves.
Edit: I just realized this is my 1,984th tasting note which gives me a bit of a thrill because I was born in 1984. This’ll only happen once so I thought I should make note of it!

I received this tea, along with so many others (!), from Courtney last week. This one in particular was originally sent to her by Martin. Thank you both! After going through all the teas in the box, I knew I wanted to try this one first. Not only did it smell amazing, I had read Courtney’s note about it a couple of weeks ago and it sounded like something I would like. And I do!
I’m not all that familiar with currants as a flavor, but I’m going to find some so that I can try them and get a feel for what they taste like on their own. That said, to me this smells like dark, juicy grapes. I don’t get any smokiness which is too bad because I was looking forward to that, but it’s still a delicious cup without it.
Flavors: Grapes, Juicy

I enjoyed this so much yesterday that I decided to have it again today. Only one cup left. Having it with a chocolate croissant that’s so good I’m going weak in the knees over it.
