2170 Tasting Notes
My husband has a friend at work who gave him a bag of this tea to try a while back. He really enjoyed it so when I saw a box at Whole Foods the other day I grabbed it. The dry bag smells exactly like the orangeade I used to drink as a kid. It also, in a strange way, reminds me of those candy wax lips we used to chew. The taste is reminiscent of the wax lips even if the smell is mostly orange. It’s a weak cup, unfortunately, so perhaps next time I’ll use less water. I’m a little disappointed in this one because it smells so good and tastes so bland and watery.
Flavors: Candy, Orange
Preparation
This smells exactly like a Mounds bar! The chocolate, the coconut, the sweetness – everything! I’m pretty excited to try this one. The dry blend appears to be just coconut flakes and tea. The liquid brews up dark and is just the slightest bit bitter. I’m not tasting as much coconut as I would like, but it’s a good cup. It’s moderately strong and definitely caffeinated.
Flavors: Bitter, Candy, Chocolate, Coconut, Sweet
Preparation
This doesn’t smell like much coming out of the container, maybe just a little tart, but once the water hits the leaves it has a wonderful autumnal apple cider fragrance. The color is a deep berry red, which I expected from the hibiscus. It does taste very tart and a little artificial. I’m sure that’s coming from the stevia. I added a little honey and this tea really comes alive. The apple flavor really comes through and I can definitely taste something like cider.
Flavors: Apple, Artificial, Tart
Preparation
I can smell and taste the pineapple but I’m not sure I’ve ever had lychee so I can’t say whether or not I’m tasting it. This is also a bit astringent. I like the flavor but not as much as their Coconut Hibiscus tea.
Flavors: Astringent, Pineapple
Preparation
The dry teabag smells entirely of peppermint, specifically those peppermint puff candies I love. The color is red with a border of green and the taste is peppermint with the cloying artificial sweetness of licorice. I don’t mind licorice candy so much, but I’m not a fan of the flavor in tea. A tiny bit of honey smooths it out a bit without adding extra sweetness.
Flavors: Artificial, Candy, Licorice, Peppermint, Sweet
Preparation
I won’t lie – I caught a whiff of the teabag after steeping and it smelled fishy. Thank goodness the liquid doesn’t smell the same. The tea is quite a bold red color. It certainly looks and smells strong. The taste is very bitter so I think next time I’ll steep at a lower temperature. Even with loads of cream and sugar, this is a bit too much for me.
Flavors: Bitter, Fishy
Preparation
I typically don’t choose a chamomile tea unless I have a headache or am feeling a little sickly and under the weather. It’s not a favorite but there is something definitely cozy about it when I’m just trying to feel better. Today is an exception to that rule – I don’t feel sick (aside from a small headache); I’m just trying to drink some of our teas that I haven’t tried yet.
This does smell sweeter than a typical chamomile but the taste doesn’t seem too much changed. There is a slight creaminess there that could be the vanilla. The only honey I taste is the honey I added myself and I think it only serves to bring out the more artificial flavors of the tea. It’s not my favorite, but I really didn’t expect it to be.
Flavors: Artificial, Creamy, Sweet, Vanilla

This is the last of the Apricot Meadow that Nichole sent for me to try. I’ve had a couple of cups of this before but can never seem to get myself together enough to write out a note. I can smell and taste the lemongrass most of all. I had just shy of a teaspoon left so I only used 6 ounces of water for this cup. This still isn’t my favorite, though I will say it’s better in my opinion when cold. Thanks so much for letting me try this one, Nichole!
Flavors: Lemongrass
Preparation
I had a cup of this a couple of days ago but my note didn’t exactly make it so I thought I would have another and write a fresh one. The last time I drank this the flavor wasn’t really there for me so this time I used 1.5 teaspoons of tea rather than the recommended 1 teaspoon. The tea is much stronger this way and I’m enjoying the flavor much more. I can taste the bite of the ginger after each sip. It seems to me that this has a floral aspect to it as well. I’m enjoying this cup much more.
Second Steep
8 ounces water + 195 degrees + 7 minutes
This cup is kind of bland so I think next time I’ll stop at one where it’s most enjoyable. Thanks for sharing, Nichole!
Flavors: Floral, Ginger
