Was a little hesitant to drink this because I had heard somewhere it was a potential carcinogen, but did a little research after my partner brought a bag home. Reminds me of nettles.
I’ve looked into the carcinogen research, and it was done on folks who drink it culturally (i.e. A LOT). I don’t think that a cup here and there is harmful.
I also saw that the test group also used tobacco regularly so the test wasn’t very isolated.
And alcohol… and the products were almost all homemade, so they couldn’t really account for the effects of tobacco and alcohol properly, because they didn’t know how much was used.
It was an observational study, so really just said “this group of people tends to have these types of cancers”.
