This is just Tian di ren factory ripe tea — it’s pretty average. Rather drink something from Menghai
9 Tasting Notes
Definitely prefer ‘more classic’ Menghai recipes to this 2007. Maybe it was produced at the edge of the tea boom and bust and got rushed through. I don’t see much potential for aging with this one. But, I have only had the 2007, I am not sure if there is another year that is much much better or not
The long jing is much better than their pu. A little bit nutty, but not very deep in flavor. It’s better than mediocre
This tea must have had some poor storage along the way, as it is fairly weak and lacks robust flavor. Maybe the tea was not so strong to begin with and 12 years was too long to age it
Some notes of wood, but very little sweetness. Their green teas were much better than their pu
This is a good everyday pu er option, affordable and delicious. I have a brick that I am almost through and need to purchase a new one.
It is light and easy, smooth and warm. Perfect when you “don’t know what to drink”!
I do not own that many bricks, but this is a favorite cooked puer brick of mine. I think I still like the 7572 puer cake better, but this is a still super lovely!! I always have one in my cupboard
7572 is a classic…kind of like going to a restaurant you know really well and getting your favorite dish! It is always the same and reliable – I drink this tea often, it’s good as an “everyday” kind of thing. Like eggs and toast for breakfast
I am actually drinking a 2009 now, not 2010, but i didn’t see where to list it, and the difference is prolly not so big :)
This is still a little young to drink, but if previous years are the same, this one really will age well too! I LOVE some of the older 7542 I have had, and I think this is one of the most classic teas for big factory teas
It is still harsh now though!!
