DEFINITELY like this as a latte more. I MEAN, by itself it’s a fine strawberry tea, but it’s not much more than that. The milk is what really brings out the vanilla flavor I was looking for.

The re-steep of this actually brought out some surprisingly fruity flavors! This is such an interesting and delicious oolong I LOVE IT. In fact I am going to raise the score right now.
Another great oolong! Much more nutty and earthy than the wuyi ensemble I had earlier. It’s a little reminiscent of dragonwell, only more nutty and… oolong-y!
Backlogging a bit; I’m trying to decide which Genmaicha is my favorite between Zen Tea and Adagio! They both have a slightly different tastes and very different brewing times. I think I’m leaning a bit towards the Zen Tea but it’s a hard choice!
Another one of my Adagio samples, and man it is an incredibly delicious and solid oolong! AND GORGEOUS TOO, it’s such a perfectly clean golden colour, never had an oolong look quite that good. Re-steeps great too. GOOD STUFF.
Definitely one of my favorite fruity teas, very tangy and light. MY WORK TEA FOR TODAY!
I think Cas has become my favorite of my signature blends uwaaa~
Today is just an EARL GREY kinda day I guess. Tried this sample, from the sound of it I expected it to be similar to Zen Tea’s earl grey cream, but I think this one was less… creamy? Good taste though! And I could get a hint of cream in the aftertaste. Still delicious enough I didn’t feel the need to add milk, though I’m sure that would have tasted swell too.
Ohh this is a nice earl grey, I really love the smell of lavender though in all honestly I don’t get much of the taste (IDK WHAT DOES LAVENDER TASTE LIKE ANYWAY?), could be because I added milk though. BUT ANYWAY it is quite delicious!
Work tea for today! Oldie but a goodie.
Oh my god can we talk about how much I LOVE GENMAICHA BECAUSE this is seriously one of my favorite teas next to some good ol’ standard oolongs. This stuff is amazing, the toasty rice flavor is so much stronger with the loose leaf stuff and seeing as this NUTTY RICE taste is my favorite part I WELCOME IT WITH OPEN ARMS. I don’t really know how to compare it to the Zen Tea sample, but I guess you just can’t really go wrong with me and genmaicha.
FINAL SIGNATURE BLEND! Ouch I burned my tongue on this one, I guess I was just that excited. It SMELLED AMAZING the chai was the strongest! HOWEVER once I brewed it, the assam really shined, mostly overpowering the apple chai completely HAHA. I DON’T MIND THAT THOUGH. It wasn’t what I was expecting, but the assam has such a classic taste (and the chai definitely sweetened it a little in a way) and I really like it. TOTALLY FEEL LIKE I’M IN SOME KAMAKHYA TEMPLE assam is so cool. I get the apple in the aftertaste a bit, though!
Time to try more of these blends! BY ITSELF the strawberry is kinda overpowering, which I’m pretty neutral about, but add some milk and sugar and it prettymuch tastes like some kinda STRAWBERRY LATTE it’s kinda amazing yum!! AND IT SMELLS LIKE CANDY!? WOW dang.
Wowww THIS IS ACTUALLY QUITE DELICIOUS! I almost always add cream to my Irish/English breakfast teas but this didn’t need it! The blueberries and the vanilla made up for that. I think I coulda almost went with less blueberry just because I don’t like super fruity tea but I definitely wouldn’t categorize it as SUPER FRUITY either it’s a pretty good mix of both! I kinda wanna try it with cream anyway at some point just to see how it changes the flavor but overall I’m pretty happy with this blend YAAAY.
MY ADAGIO PACKAGE CAME TODAY YAY!! Now have 4 new samples and 4 signature blends that I made, and this is the first one I tried as it was the one I was the most excited about. LEMON & GINGER TEA is delicious and I love me my grassy greens so I figured I couldn’t go wrong with mixing them.
I AM, HOWEVER, having a problem with just that: I CAN’T SEEM TO MIX EM PROPERLY. The first time I steeped for a about 2.5 minutes, due to the nature of the kukicha, and it tasted very much like sweet, grassy kukicha IT WAS DELICIOUS but the lemon grass just didn’t get a chance to really shine! So I tried again, going for 7 minutes and then the lemon grass overpowered the kukicha! IT’S STILL GOOD, both ways, but I’m guessing I’ll have to give this one another test run later maybe at 4 minutes to see if I can really get a good mix of both.
Work had this today so I went ahead and tried it! I DO LIKE IT, ACTUALLY… you can definitely taste the nutmeg, and it’s most definitely got spice. Really don’t taste any pumpkin, though. But I’m okay with that because I’m not the biggest pumpkin fan in the first place. But if that IS what you want, well, YOU WONT FIND IT HERE…
Yummm love this so much has such a great finish and aftertaste!!
STILL LOVIN THIS TEA it’s just so buttery and down to earth, sighs dreamily~
ANOTHER SAMPLE FROM STARFISHEY THANK YOU!! Wow I actually liked this more than I thought IDK WHY PEOPLE HATE IT SO MUCH EITHER whateva!! I was a little scared because I’m honestly not a fan of overly-fruity teas I LOVE FRUIT and fruit accents but I dunno when teas get too purely fruity it’s just kinda a turn off I guess I’d just rather drink juice, really.
BUT ANYWAY this tea is actually REALLY PECULIAR? I smelled it and kinda had a hard time figuring out what I was smelling other than kinda flowery and fruity… and then I tasted it and I really have no idea what I just tasted. The hibiscus was pretty strong I definitely got that but then there were just all these RANDOM FRUITY FLAVORS in the background and they were all really mild and I LIKED THAT. For me it wasn’t overpowering or tart at all, it was really light and unique!
Another Starfishey sample! …SO UH I let this steep for a bit too long but it’s still pretty good; REALLY fruity! And more sweet than I expected? I think I was expecting more tangy flavors but I got a lot of sweet fruitiness.
I DID THIS ONE AGAIN steeped at a proper time and it actually didn’t change the overall taste too much. Same flavor just a little less strong. IT’S NOT BAD, I think I might actually like it better iced though? HMMM.
SO I THINK I GOT A LOT CLOSER THIS TIME! Went with boiling water for 5 minutes with both a bit of milk and sugar and yum definitely a delicious sweet dessert tea. I’m still not really getting that LIQUID CINNAROLL that people have been mentioning, it just tastes very sugar-y sweet to me. It’s good, regardless! I’ll keep experimenting with the sample I have left.
Today is a gyokuro day.
SO MY BUDDY STARFISHEY SENT ME SOME TEAS! And I added them to my cupboard and you KNOW WHAT? I HAVE EXACTLY 52 TEAS. In my cupboard. I think that calls for a 52teas tea tasting!
So she sent me the famous cinnamon roll honeybush. I’m actually really not a fan of rooibos by itself, but I do love it mixed into other things! I HAD PRETTY HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR THIS TEA I tell ya what, everyone is just raving. I followed her suggestion and steeped it a little less than normal and HMMM I don’t think I did it long enough, the flavor wasn’t very strong. There’s definitely a creamy sweet aftertaste there but I’M JUST NOT QUITE THERE YET. Will give this another go!
A little something I stole from work today, it wasn’t too bad! As others said I think a bit of milk would have really made it but a light standard chai with a bit of a vanilla undertone DID THE JOB at the time!
