75 Tasting Notes

White Peach from Adagio Teas
95

Funnily enough, when I went to the Adagio Tea store in IL among the teas I bought were this, white peony, and the Gemini blend. Gemini has both white peach, and white peony in it.. IDK I THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY.

I’ve definitely noticed that I’ve been making fruity teas less and gravitating heavily towards these light white, and green teas. They’re just so refreshing! I can’t help it.

I had bagged white peach from Trader Joe’s and find it quite pleasent so I was very excited to try out Adagio’s blend. Since they make a fresh cup for you in store to sample I knew exactly what I was buying, and I have to say I loved it so much I bought 4oz instead of just a 2 oz bag.

The leaves are very airy so you have to use 2tsp instead of 1tsp per cup (which I’m more used to seeing). The only thing stopping me from giving this tea a 100 is that I wish the peach was a little more prominent in the aftertaste.

Picked some up for when I’m too lazy to brew my loose leaf teas. Love the nutty taste. Nomnom

Thor from Custom-Adagio Teas
88

I got a Breville tea maker with my money for Christmas! Good news about it is I’m making a lot more tea! Bad news is it’s very sad watching all my teas dwindle down, especially since I was used to only making one cups worth before. I still love it though.

ON TO THE TEA THOUGH! I recieved this as Christmas present and admittedly was VERY intimidated to crack into it since it is described as a strong flavored blend. I love black teas, but I usually add milk and sweetener to them. Keeping that in mind I was very aprehensive to just try this without any addatives.

After brewing it the tea smelled almost fruity, but nutty at the same time. Maybe fruity isn’t the correct way to describe it.. It smelled sweet in any case. This was reassuring for me, and taking my first sip did not disappoint at all. The apricot is pleasant, and like the smell, this tea has a natural sweetness about it that makes not not require to add anything at all!

To sum it up, I thought this was going to be an overpowering, strong, black tea but it was not the case at all, and I love it.

Loki (Blend) from Custom-Adagio Teas

This is, surprisingly, a very delightful tea! I recieved this (and Thor) as a christmas gift and was very aprehensive to try it due to it’s minty smell. Between the jasmine and mint this is a very refreshing blend. I normally hate mint drinks but I really love this.

I only have enough for about 2 more cups of this. I’m really going to miss it. The chai kick really makes this a unique cup in comparison to all my other fruity teas. I’m not even entirely sure that fruity tea is a good way to label this tea. It’s like chai, and green with good tangy undertones. Which sounds weird when I type it but it is REALLY GOOD! I might have to get some more. :9

I’m raising my rating for this tea. A couple nights ago I brewed this tea and was able to resteep from the leaves all night long. I drank 1.7L of water of 2tsp of the leaves, and I loved it. I’m almost out of my sample pack though. The more I drink it however, the more I feel like I should restock on it once I’m out. So good!

I love this stuff! It’s the only tea I’ve ever given a 100 to, and let me explain why.

This is a light green tea with just a tiny hint of fruit. I do not to have to be in any specific mood to want this tea, like I do with a lot of my others. This is just a great staple, any time tea. It’s pretty cheap too which is a bonus!

Organic White Peony (Bai Mu Dan) Tea from Teavivre
87

Thank you Angel and Teavivre for all the wonderful samples! I was so excited when these came in and I ended up being sent a lot more than I expected to receive!

I decided to start my taste testing out with something I have never had before, White Peony. When I opened the package I took a whiff and got didn’t really get anything worth mentioning. It was light and fresh.

Actually after reading the instructions, I just realized that I have been using only 1tsp per 8oz instead of 2-3tsp. OOPS! Regardless, I cannot stop drinking this. I drank 3 12oz cups, and made 2 8oz cups with the same leaves yesterday, and have had 3 12oz cups again today. Though the taste is really light it’s really great. It’s definitely something I could drink at any time of the day. It’s floral, and calming. The leaves are really cute too. Next time I’ll make it with 3tsp instead of just the one, but I’m really loving this as is.

Strawberry Rose Champagne Oolong Tea from Teavana
62

I went to Teavana today to restock on some tea, and as long as I was there I figured I would try one of their new ones. Strawberry Rose Champagne smelled pretty unique in comparison to the other fruity blends that were sent wafting my way so I decided to give it a go.

The taste is really interesting and different. You get the champagne quite a bit as well as the oolong. There is also quite a bit of rose flavor to it. Between the rose, and the champagne I’m not getting a lot of the strawberry. A nice, gentle floral/fruity tea. I don’t know that I would get this tea again, but I’m really glad I gave it a try.

Tizona Tea - Signature Blend from Custom-Adagio Teas

Lili’ uokalani from The Tea Garden

This is also another one I need to try again for the same reasons as the Dragon’s Well. Because it’s a black tea I think it was more forgiving with the boiling water, but just leaving the leaves in did not do it justice. It was STRONG. Dang, I’ve never had black tea just straight up, let alone just left to steep forever. She also didn’t have anything to really dress it up with, like sugar. So yup. No rating until it try again.

Profile

Bio

I’m pretty new to the tea drinking world, only started drinking it regularly about a year ago.

I like green, white, and herbal, fruity teas. I haven’t gone out of my comfort zone a lot. I’m open to trying new things though! Oolongs are what I’ve been getting into recently.

It’s a rare thing for me to actually finish my tea. Reason being I like to take a couple sips over a long period of time, and for some reason those last 2 sips I always forget about until they are gross and cold. Aww. D:

I’d love to tea trade with anyone interested!
