I love the smell of this one — it’s all ripe, juicy pineapple ready to be eaten! I thought for sure this would taste like a pina colada in a cup. Even my fiance was impressed by the scent of this one.

I steeped this hot and chilled it to make an iced tea for him. He swears he gets a banana flavor from it. I tried a bit and all I get is licorice. Unless it’s red Twizzlers, I’m not a fan of licorice.

Boo. I really watned to like this one.

Finished off the rest of this last night — holy crushed leaves! I used a fillable tea bag this time, hoping to avoid the leaf particulate that I suspect has been making other cups of this bitter. I got a cup of very blueberry tea that was fantastic hot … but got bitter as it cooled. Disappointing; I liked the blueberry flavor.

I get a lot of coconut from this one – if I overleaf, it’s a very sharp coconut flavor, verging on bitter. Today, the coconut overwhelms everything else and contributes to a baked goods-type flavor. The flavor reminds me more of pie dough (but, not entirely) than cookies.

Oh, well. It’s a decent breakfast tea.

Had this last night as a post-dessert treat while playing video games. I think I messed it up. I might have had two glazed donuts before drinking this and I can’t tell if they overloaded me on sweet to the point where I couldn’t taste my tea or if I just got a really bland cup. Both steeps of this didn’t taste at all like cotton candy — very disappointing regardless, and it’s making me reconsider if this is one I need to have stockpiled before it’s discontinued.

So this is still one of my favorite pieces of tea gear … but I’ve encountered a bit of a problem. Well … several problems actually.

1) Green teas brewed in the Timolino taste terrible! I can’t decide if they’re metallic, bitter, or some combination thereof.

2) Smells linger – meaning that if I make one kind of tea in this on Monday, the different tea I make in it on Tuesday tastes dirty, despite my thorough scrubbing of the Timolino.

3) If I use an unscented denture tab to get rid of lingering odors … I’m now getting a blue patina on the inside of my Timolino.

Anyone have any ideas on how to deodorize this thing without making my tea taste bad? I’m out of ideas. :-(

I haven’t touched this one in months and I think it’s gotten old…

It’s tasting unusually flat today. Most of the cinnamon settled at the bottom of my cup and stirring isn’t helping things much. Alternatively, this is a tea that doesn’t fare well in a sachet.

Oh well. Maybe this will be the next tea I use for cookie baking.

I bought way too much of this when it was part of DavidsTea’s Web Specials and then promptly didn’t drink it. It’s been sitting in the back of my cupboard for months now, and I finally got creative with it.

I steeped eight tablespoons of this in a cup of butter and used the (green) result to make sugar cookies this afternoon. I’ve done this before (with Spiced Fig and Sugar Plum Spice) with excellent results. Pistachio Cream used this way results in cookies that are much stronger than I’ve had before — I’m actually getting the flavor of this tea in every bite!

Plus … if you steep this tea in butter, it makes your whole house smell like a bakery. Ahhhhhhh!

I’ve had this one a few times now, always with limted success. First time, it was bitter and light on any sort of fruity or bready flavor. This last time around, I went for a 2 minute steep and made sure to get a blueberry in my infuser!

The result?

The first steep is very blueberry and I get a bit of tang as well. There might be a bit of baked goods flavor, but I think that’s what I’m interpreting as bitterness. The second steep lost the blueberry and tang, and the bitter flavor is more pronounced.

I’m glad I finally got something approaching the namesake out of this tea, but I’m even more excited that I’ve almost finished it off. Maybe sugar would bring out a sweet pastry taste?

Couldn’t decide what to have last night and settled on this one that I keep meaning to try but never seem to get around to. For the most part, “cake” teas falls short for me — I don’t get that lovely baked goods taste from them that everyone else seems to pick out. This tea, though not labeled as such, totally reminds me of cinnamon coffee cake. YUM! I get a lot of bready notes laced with sweet cinnamon. This one gets bitter as it cools, but mellows out again so that each sip leaves a strong vanilla aftertaste. This one was worth the wait to try!

I love the smell of this dry, it’s so creamy and fruity. After I’d opened it yesterday, I kept going back to sniff it because it is just delicious. Steeped, it loses the creaminess but is true to its name. I associate snowcones with an almost-watery fruit flavor and this is very reminiscent of a cherry snowcone.

Again, not one I’d feel the need to restock once I use up my sampler, but well done on matching the tea to the intended flavor.
