Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas.

I have come to like matcha, however wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this one. Never been a fan of champagne, beer, wine. And this smelt remarkably like beer.

I would have to say this is probably highly true to the taste of Strawberry Champagne. I’m not gonna leave a numerical rating, because it’s just not my cup of tea. Made this the way I do all Matcha in my metal cocktail shaker with ice & milk

YAY Twelve Days of Christmas tea style.

Day 1-Pear Tree Tea.
I found in scent it reminded me of Teavana’s Chateau Blanc, but not as strong smelling (funny enough the smell of both kinda bug my tummy). I really liked Chateau Blanc so I had high hopes for this one.

It’s very similar in taste to Chateau Blanc, it’s hard to pinpoint, exactly what it tastes like. I find this one pulls off the wine/champagne flavour more. It’s also kind of earthy, tangy even maybe.

I don’t really know how to explain this one, except it’s yummy!

I went into Teavana last night to grab a mug for my girls’ teacher & low & behold I walked out without purchasing anything. But somehow left with tea. Opps lol

I somehow noticed flavours I hadn’t before, this being one of them. I have a friend who works there & she threw me enough for a few mugs of it.

I brewed it up this morning, dry & steeped it smells devine. Spicy & Orangey. LOVE!

This is so delcious. May be my fav Teavana tea to date! om nom nom. Must buy more… devilish tea

WHA? Thought I reviewed this a while back when I received some as a sample. Well I ended up buying 2oz of it when I did my black Friday order.

This is very appley, with an almost roasted over a fire flavour. It’s a delcious apple tea, but with that great roasty flavour to it. I’m tired of always have black tea, so this is a light refreshing & delicious change.

OH MY! My Black Friday order finally arrived. YAY! I tore into the box like a crazy person & smelt all my delicious new teas!

This smells very good, marshmallow, caramely goodness. It changes scent a little once steeping, kind of a funny smell :/

This is so amazingly spectacular. I don’t know if I like it more than Oatmeal Raisin Cookie or Chili Chocolate Truffle, but it is soooooooooooooo good.

It’s very marshmallow like, way better than any of the marshmallow or s’mores teas I’ve tried. And so caramel tasting. Wow just fantastic. Glad I ended up with 4oz of this. I even ended up over steeping it & it was still fabulous!

I received some of this in a swap and loved it. I thought I posted a note. I feel that I remember it being marshmallow like. My first impression was that unlike two other smore teas I’ve tried these marshmallows actually melted.

This time around although very yummy, I didn’t find it as good as the first time. Although I didn’t really get to enjoy it the way it deserves between all the hustle and bustle of work and my sickly feeling tummy. I kinda wish I would actually get sick so I had a legitimate reason not to go to work, even though there is no one to cover for me.

Anywho, I will wait to give this a numerical rating until I have had the time to enjoy it properly.

This is my 4th new to me tea in my order (I think I’ve tried all the new ones now).
It’s definetly blueberry smelling, but more to the artificial blueberry side. And there are a ton of blueberries in there.

Alright so I’ve said before I come from the home of THE best blueberries. I don’t care what anyone says. This is now the 4th blueberry tea I try and although it’s good, I think it’s the inferior blueberry tea. It tastes NOTHING like Northern Ontario blueberries. :(
It’s too artifical blueberry like to compare. Although the next time I am going to make this on the stove with a touch of rock sugar & milk. Maybe I am just spoiled to delicious blueberries.

So I think I have to do a Teavivre order and get some of their Blueberry Fruit tea, because so far it has come the closest.

New to me tea #3 from my order.

This is such a pretty leaf tea. Sprinkled with white chocolate chips & red & white sprinkles. Super cute.
It smells sweet & cake like. Om nom nom. I had my very first red velvet cupcake a few months ago. I have to say after the first couple of bites I didn’t like it, by the 4th or so I was in love! s thick in my mouth. drool I wants more!!!!!!! I feel like I ate a piece of cake with icing. I must buy more of this. I will probably get one of the pretty tins if I can find them

Tea #2 from my order (I bought a few new to me teas & some tried & true favs like 200g of Forever Nuts).

The dry notes smell sweet & fruity, a find it’s more of a mixed berry fruit smell than strictly cranberry. I’m not really getting any of the spices from it. I do smell a green/earthy like smell which I attribute more to the mistletoe than the actual green tea.

It steeps up a golden green colour, but really I think it should be red. The taste is delicious, sweet, fruity & green tasting. I really think it could use more of the cinnamon & anise flavours. That would definetly up the rating.

Maybe this is just silly or the placebo affect because I know there is mistletoe in it, but this tea really is almost magical & Christmas tasting.

My package finally arrived. YAY!! I tore into it Luke a kid on Christmas morning. I diwcovered there were no samples in my order… What the? Is it nit picky that I e-mailed them about it? Samples are almost the best part.
So i promised my girls I would let them pick a few and wrap them for me for Christmas morning. But I couldnt resist opening and sampling some

Onto this tea. I love mint, I live coconut. This tea smells mostly minty, that made me worry it would just taste like a plqin old peppermint tea. Luckily it doesn’t. This is definitely something different, yummy but different. It’s minty, creamy and tastes like after eight mints, but on occasion it tastes coconutty, completely changing the taste.

I kinda wish this had more coconut flavour to it. But very yum!

This is my second cup of this and it is amazingly delicious. It’s nutty, slightly sweet and a bit fruity. So much walnut flavour. This is a great any time tea. So in love with this one. Perhaps it may be my fav green tea.

I finally got my order, this with 2 others.
I love the smell of the dry leaves. Minty and marshmallowey mmmmm yum!
Eeeee as it steels it smells a little funky.
The taste is a sweet spearmint flavour, with a touch of creamy marshmallow goodness. And then it follows up with a delicious green tea base.
I’m not positive on how I feel about it, entirely. I like it, but its strange.

I wanted something fall like. We’re getting a little of the backlash from Sandy. It’s cold, windy & rainy.

I wanted fall like but yet something new. I had grabbed Summer Breeze out of the traveling tea box, & it smells very apple like (but more like crab apples, which I had a tree of in my yard when I was growing up). Apples=fall, then I needed spices. So I took my Vanilla Chai from Tea & Bloom. The mix was 1 & 1/2 perfect tsps of each tea. Steeped for about 3 mins.

It’s apple like & a little spicy. I don’t find either flavour is really shinning out, they just kind of meld together & not in a superb way, but just a kind of decent taste.
It does have that slight apple bitter taste that you get from crab apples.

I mixed this up the way I have been with matchas. Milk and ice in my metal cocktail shaker.
This smells like eggnog. i havent had actual egg nog in years. My first experince with actual eggnog wasn’t a pleasnat one.

I think this tastes like eggnog, but I enjoy it this time around. Creamy, vanilla, custard, spicy. Yup this is so good. I would probably drink this in place of eggnog throughout the holidays.
I’m not suppose to like matcha. I don’t need a new beverage addiction.

I’m thinking about starting on protein shakes in the am, since I don’t usually eat breakfawt. I wonder how the flavoured matchas would lend to it?

I feel the need to dry all DT teas when presented with the opportunity to do so.
This one smells like a hodge-podge of scents.

The taste of it is way too floral like for my taste buds. Ick!

I got this one out of the traveling tea box as well.

It’s peachy, but also appley smelling. The yogurt chips make the tea really cloudy. This tea smells peachy, but not artificial peach which tends to smell like cat pee, however not quite like a real peach.
This is quite good, but I’m sure would be even better iced. Too bad I don’t have any left.

This is one I would definitely like to keep around for the summer.

I plucked this from the traveling tea box. Originally i had passed over it, but went back to it. So glad i did.
The dry notes smell lightly, but so deliciously of cucumber and mint. It’s so fresh smelling. As it steels you still get the cucumber and mint, but also smells sligtly of… Ummmm….. marijuana :\
I accidentally let my water boil oops, then over steeped it… This is why I need a breville.

My first sip was really sweet. But that tamed over the next couple of sips. It delicious and fresh. Cucumber like and minty. Very nice. Definitely lovin this one.

It is slightly bitter and a little dry in the mouth, but I’m sure thats a result of my crappy brewing.

Backlog from Monday—

This tea smells very strongly of spices. I’m not getting any pumpkin from the smell.
Once steeped up I find much of the same in smell & taste. Just a lot of spices & no pumpkin. I did get a pumpkin pie flavour at the end of a sip here & there, but it is not predominent. I find the spices very over powering.

Spice, chocolate & chai? How can a sweets addict, chai loving, spicy food adoring girl not get this tea? Man tea my bum, move on over mama wants her spicy chocolate!

This smells like a typical chai, I always love when you can see all the spices. Mmmm & I can see the peppers. Num Num.

What the? The picture on the package says a touch of cayenne pepper. A touch? It’s more like a touch of chai & chocolate & MAJOR peppers.
Wow this is spicy, I really wasn’t expecting so much kick. It really is a punch in the mouth. I love spicy foods, but this, may just be too spicy for a beverage. I don’t even know if I can taste anything other than the spice.

This would probably be really great mixed with hot chocolate or another chocolate tea.
I have to leave this without a rating for now until I can decide how I feel about it.

I’m always leary about mate blends because I have not enjoyed any so far. The dry leaves do smell chocolatey, which is fabulous! The steeped notes smell just like mate :/ ergh not good

Nope, this is yummy! It’s definetly milkshake chocolatey, not just chocolate. And it is slightly malty. But mostly chocolate milkshake. I don’t really taste the mate, but that is probably what is giving this the slight malt taste.

I received this in a swap from Jes I do believe. This sounded more than just a ginger tea, but I find in scent it’s just ginger. Could have been my congestion.

The suggested steep time is 5 mins? Really for a green? I questioned it, but went with it anyways.

Steeped up it’s gingery, but that’s pretty much it. It’s an alright tea, but probably something I’d use for medicinal purposes.

ETA: used this for medicinal purposes this morning, I’ve got some kind of lingering stomach bug. So was hopeing this would help with the naseau. This is a rather gross tea.

I received this in a swap from Finn88 , I’m not a fan of coffee at all, but decided to give this one a whirl. I needed the caffeine intake. The leaves only smell lighty of coffee, which is good because I don’t like coffee.

Steeped it is much the same, there is a mild coffee taste to it, nothing too potent, but you can tell it’s there. I was actually able to drink it, unlike another tea that had coffee in it.

This is by no means a tea I would say oh I feel like having this today. However I would drink it knowing I need a caffeine boost.

Jes was kind enough to send me some of her matcha, I ended up receiving this at the same time as the matcha that I ordered (which I feel I haven’t loved yet). Mixed this up this morning as a cold latte. I am exhausted after having caffeine too late in the evening, so here I am trying to cure myself with the same thing that failed me.

I do believe this was the starter grade and has the distinctive flavoring. It definetly smells like caramel. I put slightly more than 2 perfect teaspoons into my cocktail shaker, then added about 8oz of milk and shook. I then added some ice cubes and shook again. This yielded way more foam than with my first matcha experience.

I think I probably would have went with the robust flavouring. But this is definetly caramel. I literally feel like I am eating caramels. It’s sweet without anything added. It is so fabulous. I’m kinda sad I waited so long to try matcha, especially this one. Mmmm mmm mmmm

It finally got here. My orders from 52teas seems to take forever, probably because I am most excited for them.
I ripped into my package when I got home from work and then not so carefully ripped open each of the three yeas i recived. I smelt this one last.
Soooooo carameley, oh my with the added bonus of pumpkin spices. I should have waited to try this, I am all congested and my taste buds are acting up…. aside from that by the time this steeped it was 6:40, I knew a black tea at that hour was a horrible idea and I am paying for it. Eeeek, and now tomorrow I have to start work early.

Anyways to the tea, or what I could taste of it. I definetly over steeped this, I was multi tasking and the tea suffered as usual. It’s definetly a carameley tea for sure, so good. I didn’t get much of any other flavours other than bitterness from the over steep (probably a result of my congestion). I added one crystal of rock sugar and a touch of milk just to alleviate the bitterness. Ooohh if this is even yummier when steeped properly and when i can taste thongs like normal people I am going to be in tea heaven.

I will give this a numerical rating once I can enjoy it properly, the way it deserves.
