14 Tasting Notes

MateVana from Teavana
75

One of my all time favorites. I go through 8 oz. in no time flat.

Tetley Tea Bag from Tetley
25

I have yet to drink a cup of this brand that’s actually GOOD.

Ceylon Orange Pekoe (loose leaf) from Twinings
75

It’s been a while since I last drank a cup of this, but it holds a special place in my heart. I had tins of this stuff all over the house, and at work too. I really should make myself a cup. :)

English Breakfast from Twinings
75

Twinings was the first brand I went to when I became enthusiastic about tea, particularly loose leaf. I’m not too fond of their bagged version (it always leaves a stale aftertaste) but the loose is great. Recommended!

Original Blend from Red Rose
75

I had this tea down the shore and I don’t know if it was the water or the blend, but every cup I drank was AWESOME. I don’t know why I haven’t picked up a box yet.

Lipton Black Tea from Lipton
75

I’ve got a box of this stuff at my job. It may not be one of my more ‘exotic’ teas, but it definitely makes the day easier for me.

Vanilla Almond from The Republic of Tea
75

I love this tea. Absolutely adore it. I have yet to find one to top it.

Blackberry Sage from The Republic of Tea
25

Definitely a tea best served on ice. Hot it was too much for me. I couldn’t even finish my cup. :(

Raspberry Quince from The Republic of Tea
25

I wanted to like this tea very much, for I love raspberries, but I felt it was too overpowering. But I bet this tea would be awesome iced.

Good Hope Vanilla (Red) from The Republic of Tea
75

I admit, I’m a sucker for vanilla in my tea. While it’s not a tea I keep around all the time (like RoT’s Vanilla Almond) I’ll still sit back and enjoy a cup.

Earl Greyer from The Republic of Tea
75

I had reservations about Earl Grey tea because I was turned off by citrus-y flavors. Fortunately this particular blend isn’t overpowering; if anything, it’s my go-to tea whenever I’m feeling down.

Yerba Mate Latte from The Republic of Tea
75

I am a lover of nutty teas, and this one is high on my list, right behind the Yerba Mate blend sold by Teavana. It’s also the only herbal tea I really enjoy.

Black Pearl Tea from Lipton
75

I came upon this while looking to add more tea to my pantry. I admit, after having tasted the likes of Republic of Tea and Teavana, my view on Lipton is, shall we say, ‘the poor man’s tea’. Well, I’m pleased that this tea has changed my tune. I usually buy two boxes: one for work and one for the house. :)

British Breakfast from The Republic of Tea
75

One of my personal favorites from the Republic of Tea. I’m always in the mood for a nice cup!

Profile

Bio

As a child I had a cup of tea with breakfast every morning, but I stopped after realizing the milk left a poor aftertaste in my mouth. The only other times I drank tea was when I went to really nice Chinese restaurants, but my drink of choice at the time was (ugh) Pepsi. Fast forward to 2006 and the night I was introduced to the joys of loose leaf tea by my friend Mark. Goodbye Pepsi, hello tea! My preoccupation with wanting to sample every available kind earned me the nickname Tea Diva. Now it’s about the only thing I’ll drink, save water. Long live tea!
