5292 Tasting Notes

Mothola Smoked oolong Assam from Rare Tea Republic
82

This has a semi-juicy beginning sip and ends slightly smoky. It’s woodsy in the middle and that seems to be the primary taste on the tongue and as you swirl around in your mouth. There is a bit something else I cannot quite put my finger on…fruity, maybe. Regardless this tea will make you think, appreciate, and enjoy!

Bai Mu Dan White Tea (White Peony) from Wan Ling Tea House
91

While listening to Butterfly by Jason Mraz I’m totally digging this tea. It’s more involved than other White Peony’s I have tried…Maybe even more vegetal, too! I really like this tho! It’s a nice, full white! Smooth end sip! Very nice!

Hand Picked Spring Tieguanyin (2012) from Verdant Tea
91

This is really nice! Definition of SPRING for sure! It’s creamy, green and springy, hints of berry and gentle floral notes, but incredible clean and pure! I’m LOVING this the more i drink it and will do multiple infusions. Thanks David! This is a treat!

Currently pairing this infusion with All Along The Watchtower ~ Jimi Hendrix

SUN MOON LAKE BLACK TEA from FONG MONG TEA
96

Sure…I have LIKED the other Sun moon Lake’s I have tried but THIS Sun Moon Lake is my fave thus far! There is ‘that flavor’ but magnified! It’s right where I want it to be! This is right up my alley! I’m grateful for this tea! It’s Dandy! It’s cocoa-E but with an aroma of hint of wine. It’s malty and smooth and the chocolate-E notes are quite remarkable.

The Skinny from DAVIDsTEA
80

Last week I was doing HIGH RAW FOODS between 80 and 90% and I was sipping on this a few times…just backlogging…sorry…I have a lot of backlogging to do…lol…

Organic Matcha Green Tea Ceremonial Grade from Arbor Teas
90

Special thanks to LiberTEas for this one!

I agree with her in saying this is smooth, slightly vegetal, but more importantly CREAMY. No grit which is GREAT! Very nice! Extra points for that! This is a matcha for the books!

Apple from Kusmi Tea
92

This tea has been keeping me company for a few days now…YUM! See previous notes…also backlogging…

Hojicha de la Creme from Art of Tea
89
Cranberry Punch from Shanti Tea
82

This is a nicely flavored green tea with a sturdy cranberry punch of flavor! The green tea is near gunpowder green, too!

Cran-Blackberry Black from Zoomdweebie's Tea Bar
88

backlogging – LOTS of backlogging – see previous notes :)

Grand Yunnan Imperial from Le Palais des Thes
82

This is unlike other Yunnan’s I have tried. This is strong, bold, and semi-floral yet a tad bitter/sour but in a good way. It’s also on the verge of Pu-erh Characteristics. Very different but very hearty! A nice, unique offering :)

Kilauea Forest White from KTeas
92

Thanks to LiberTEAs I was able to try this one and am LOVING It!

Florally-sweet, refreshing like a cucumber, and brothy! This is very nice! VERY pleasant after taste, too! YUM!

Sun Moon Lake Hong Yue Black Tea from T-Oolongtea
95

I’ve had this one twice now and it’s the first chance I have been able to jot down some tasting notes :)

First and most noticeably is the strength of the long, wiry leaves! They are wonderful!

The aroma is of medium strength black tea that is bready/crusty-esque.

The flavor is MARV…very high quality tea. It’s malty and smooth with highlights of that bread-like flavor. The more I drink this the more I LOVE it! I’m going to send the rest to LiberTeas, tho! She’ll get a kick out of it!

CHEERS!

Mexican Mango Chili Mate from Capital Teas
89

I want to thank LiberTEAs for this one! :)

Other Mexican Chili Mate type tea/tisane’s I have had have been ‘ok’ but no overly my thing! With this one, tho, I really like it! Perhaps it’s the addition of the MANGO…not sure…but this is pretty good! There is a LOT going on! Green Tea, Rooibos, Mate, Fruit, Flavors, Flowers, Nuts, Herbs! WOW!

The Chili is pretty intense but I like it! There are other secondary flavors that help back it up! The Mango is right behind the Chili. The rose, Ginseng, Orange, and Cherry follow. The other ingredients are more subtle! Everything seems to have it’s role in this! It’s very involved and quite unique! Nicely done!

Caramel Sundae Escape from Talbott Teas

Yanxin's Reserve '04 Shu Nuggets from Verdant Tea

INFUSION TEST!
#1
I can smell some cinnamon hints but the taste is very gentle overall. I’m looking forward to infusion progression on this one! I will say this – it’s quite velvety while swirling around in your mouth :)

more to come…

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Tea from Culinary Teas
86

The aroma is out of this world! Amazing sweet and juicy strawberry and sugary chocolate! Very nice! The taste is darn good, too! It’s a pretty good balance between strawberry and chocolate and I have already had several cups over the last 2 weeks! Thanks to LiberTEAs, that is!

Alishan Shi Zhao from T-Oolongtea
88

Backlogging a cup or two from last week and I’m on my 3rd for today! This is the first time I have been able to jut down some tasting notes, tho! It’s been a CRAZY few weeks! Oye!

This isn’t like most Alishan’s I have tried…it has a bit more going on that others, I suppose! Yes…it’s creamy-smoooth…but not AS Creamy-Smooth as many other Alishan’s…in addition it has this flavor combo that I can only compare to a cross between cheerio’s, a subtle charcoal, and dried apricots and cranberries…Cran-Cots? Apri-Berries? Not sure! But it’s a VERY unique flavor – NATURALLY – on the tongue! It’s hard to put it in the same class as other Alishans because it’s so noticeably different! Kudos for Creative!

Peppermint Dream from Herbal Infusions
88

Peppermint and Lavender? I’m game! The Peppermint is STRONG and I LOVE that! The Lavender is a nice secondary to it! The flavor combo and intensity is pretty wonderful! It’s Aromatherapy in a cup! Darned Special!

Tie Guan Yin Black Tea from Life In Teacup
95

3 cups today!
YAY!

BTW…I have some upcoming giveaways over at one of my Blogs if any of you want to follow it/bookmark it!!!

Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast from 52teas
80

Special thanks to LiberTEAs for this one!
This smells wonderful! I can smell pancakes, maple syrup, butter, pumpkin, and a hint of spice…maybe cinnamon or nutmeg…not sure…but it’s lovely! It sort of reminds me of a Country Folk Shop with Decor and Scented Candles in it!

The taste is a nice medium strength black tea base with a bit of pumpkin and spice and a just a touch of butter and syrup type flavors.

I do like the aroma more than the taste but the flavor makes sense! It’s sturdy and true to it’s name! That’s always a plus! Neat flavored Tea from Frank as always! Always KUDOS for it being Vegan, too!!!

Chocolate Rose from Culinary Teas
89

This is VERY tasty! Just the right amount of rose and chocolate with a perfect black tea base for this flavored tea! The chocolate is more of a darker chocolate! I had this twice last week and twice today so far but it’s the first time I have been able to log…sorry about that!

Special thanks to LiberTEAs for this! It’s FAB!

Assam Tippy - Khongea Estate from TeaVert
