SororiTEA's Tri Pi Chai from Uniq Teas

As you can see from my last few posts I am working on replacing the ‘lost’ Traveling Box B. I figured I would throw this into the mix as I have a large tin from Uniq Teas and wanted other to try their service as well as some flavors inspired by the Sororitea Sisters!

I’m also having a cup of this now.

I found a perfectly rolled BALL of Caramel in this cups-worth! I gave it a little gnaw prior to infusing. It was lovely.

This time around it’s a bit different from my first attempt with this blend and that is what I love about it! It morphs! I will say the random bunch of loose leaf that poured into the sealed bag for the Box B batch seems to have more black tea than my last cup and this cup have so I’m interested in seeing how people put tasting notes for them.

This smells like Crusty Caramel Spice. It’s different and spicy yet dessert like to the nose.

As I sip I could first taste the white tea and then most of the other ingredients. My 2nd sip I could taste The White Tea with the Spices and the Caramel. The Raspberry comes out to play in the aftertaste and lingers and I really like that about this cup! As it cools at room temp for a while I can taste the savory vegetal notes and subtle floral flavors come out as well.

YUM! I’m looking forward to more attempts with this as well as what others have to say about it!

See previous notes as my first attempt was different than this one :)

Again, not rating as it’s a blend I put together.

Tippy Earl Grey from Golden Moon Tea
81

Finishing up a cup of this. I still have a LOT of it so I will donate to BOX B since it was lost.

French Canadian Maple from Tealicious Tea Company
95

SIPDOWN

This will be missed! HELL…I miss it already and I just started the cuppa!

It’s stronger than the other cups…I did add a bit more, tho! I had enough for 1 regular cup and 1 small teacup so I decided to do a double down and I think I like it even better the stronger it is.

Masquerade from Indie Tea
84

I received a buttload of this from Indie and I’m so grateful to try this! I’ve always loved their tins and blends and creativeness behind each one!

At first sniff I can smell the Green and Red Rooibos Combo paired with the Sunflowers. It’s a different sort of aroma but it grew on me quickly. The color is an oranger-type rooibosy color. It’s very pretty.

This is sweet and vanilla and apricot flavored for sure but not overly-so. It has lovely floral notes that are just-right. The vanilla does help dilute the floral notes and smooths it out nicely.

YUM! This is nifty!

Tahitian Breeze from Teanzo 1856

GOOMTEE SILVER GREEN - 2012 from DARJEELING TEA LOVERS
89

A trip to ‘Instant Bliss Nirvana’? Humm…I had to check this one out! Thanks to my Sista, LiberTEAs, I was able to!

This kind of smells like a Vegetable Broth and Rice Soup. The taste is identifiably Darjeeling but with a hint of pine. It’s soft, smooth, sweet, and slightly sweet-woodsy and fruity. I like it very much!

Sencha from Infussion
75

This is the mellowest Sencha I have ever tried. It’s not grassy whatsoever! It’s incredibly clean, mellow, calming, and somewhat reminiscent of pistachios. Not bad!

Dian Hong-Broken Standard (AKA Dian Hong-Yunnan Black Tea-Broken Black mixed with Tender Gold Buds) from ESGREEN
83

This has gentle Yunnan Black notes with a cocoa powder type taste to it and a Golden Buds type BANG mixed in. It’s slightly floral and fragrant as well as slightly fruity and even has a spec of sourness in there – almost like sour milk – but not enough to be disturbing. It works! The after taste that lingers contributes an oh-so-slight bit of smoke.

This is different but good!

Nepal - Aarubotay "Plum Tree" Gardens Organic Delight Black 2nd Flush from Simpson & Vail
96

Dry – this has a bit of a sour fruit type aroma tied in with a softer darjeeling and/or multi-black tea blended base.

Once infused – the liquor smells more like a slightly fruity – non-sour-fruit aroma paired with a croissanty-type darjeeling type scent. It infuses to a nice-even medium brown color.

Interesting.

My first sip made me say that exact word. Interesting. It’s far different taste-wise from what the aroma lead me to believe. It has a completely even flavor from start to finish along side an incredible creamy texture and smoothness on the tongue. It has that little bit of darjeeling type flavor you would expect but it’s much more complex than that. As it cools just a tad I think the darjeeling-likeness is more towards the end of the sip on to the aftertaste. In the middle of the sip I’m picking up something similar to a non-fizzy beer or ale – not sure if I would consider it to be a wheat type taste and/or texture or “hops” but it’s very interesting regardless and ENJOYED.

It also has a lovely croissant comparison to it popping in and out while I sip. I do like that.

I have to say this is unlike ANY tea I have ever tried. I’m really enjoying it and am even more curious about S&V’s other 3 Nepal Teas which I do have on tap to try!

This is a conversation piece, a darned-tasty tea, and a very interesting brew! WOW! Awesome!

Chai French Vanilla from Simpson & Vail
96

You know when you get really pissed about something and you want to lash out and stay pissed but also want to act on something or have a partner in your rage? For example…when I get pissed I sometimes BLAST really HARD Music. Well, what kind of tea does one drink to accompany something like that? I don’t mean one that will mellow you out or calm you down…I mean a ‘Misery Loves Company’ sort of tea?

Perhaps I will start a thread about this. You know…one that is like that HARD music to aid your rage? Anyways…enough of the mini-rant for now…

This is the first of the new-to-me teas from my friends at S&V and I’m super excited!

This smells like a very warming, spicy, potpourri type aroma. The black tea is of medium to medium-strong in strength.

The spices are great in this. They are a chai type spicy but also a bit of potpourri type spicy, too, with floral notes of sorts. In addition the French Vanilla is a neat touch. It’s not over powering but it would well here. A touch more would be welcomed but I do like it the way it is.

I’m so blessed to have tried this tea – as well as the others I have on tap! I will never take tea(s) for granted.

I still LOVE this stuff. Yesterday for some reason I was smelling VANILLA all day and there was no rhyme or reason for it. SO this morning I made my first cup of the day THIS. See previous notes :)

YES! This makes more sense when iced/cold. It’s still not my fave but it’s much better cold. See previous notes!
