8 Tasting Notes
I absolutely adore this tea.
Personally, I prefer Earl Grey teas to really focus on blending the bergamot with the rich black tea, which this tea does beautifully, along with the other, more classically ‘Good Earth’ spices. Particularly lovely when feeling just slightly under the weather, too.
An absolutely lovely blend. The tea is perfectly dark to compliment the perfect amount of bergamot. Can be easily enjoyed prepared in a multitude of ways. Personally, I prefer stronger bergamot in my tea, if available, but this is so subtle yet distinctive, your attention is drawn to the flavor, just the same.
Perhaps nothing special, but certainly something that is dearly loved. I adore this blend and that it is so versatile in how it can be prepared while remaining pleasurable. Nothing brings a smile to my face more than when I’m traveling and I see Twining’s English Breakfast Blend available, and personally, I order it in bulk.
This tea was less than mediocre. While it can warm someone up and it light in taste, it hits with a hard sluggish feeling afterwards. It was not spicy, nor did it really have the “chai” flavors. Rather, it tasted like a generic, herbal tea dust that had been forgotten about for a few years in the back of someone’s pantry. Additionally, it left a thick layer or residue along the bottom of my teacup from dusting along the tea bad and that which had escaped it. I was not at all impressed, but I hope to find someone who can enjoy it.
