Sipdown!

If I didn’t have a million other teas to drink, I would totally restock this one immediately. I loved it! So much better than the original Sleepytime. This was a stroke of brilliance by Celestial Seasonings, adding vanilla to this iconic blend.

The vanilla just adds another dimension to it— makes it feel like a treat.

I will be buying more of this— after I get my other teas sipped down.

Holy cow, is this a nutty tea!

I’m getting lots of vanilla, but also a coating like that almonds leave in your mouth. I’ve chewed actual vanilla bean before, so I can attest that the flavoring is authentic.

At first I didn’t quite understand what this was doing in my Nuts & Spice Sampler pack, but now I 100% get it.

YUMMMMM!

Tried this one again. Bumping up my rating.

I think I oversteeped it last time. I remember the raspberry and the black base being very acid-like and not pleasant, but today it was much mellower.

Still not getting much bergamot. It’s a nice idea in theory, but in practice, raspberry and bergamot tend to be two dominant flavors, so they don’t really play nice together. In this case, the raspberry tackles the bergamot and sits on its chest, wrestling-style.

This’ll never be a favorite, but it’s certainly accessible as a work tea.

This is my favorite from the sampler that I got. It’s light and sweet and well balanced. Exactly what you’d want from a mint flavored tea.

The green tea base is nice and not astringent, and the mint plays nice.

Good for a mid-morning cuppa, to supplement the morning java jolt.

drank Vanilla Rooibos Parfait by Tazo

This was a delightful surprise! Like warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream on top, but healthy and in a cup!

I don’t mind that the apple and cinnamon dominate— the vanilla rounds it all out and makes it sweet and delicate.

Delicious dessert tea for the fall!

Okay, I actually do like this one. Phew!

It tastes sweet and fruity. I’m getting notes of toasted coconut, plum blossom, and licorice. Interesting.

Again, I’m glad I don’t have a whole canister of it, but I wouldn’t mind drinking this one again. It leaves a pleasant taste in the mouth. Good plain, excellent with a little honey.

I did not go into this one with great expectations. The dry teabag smelled revoltingly like cough syrup.

Once steeped, it smelled a lot like raspberry and not a lot like bergamot. But not unpleasantly so.

Sipping… Tastes like cough syrup.

Not impressed with this Zhena’s sampler so far.

Extremely uninteresting chamomile-based blend. I agree with another reviewer- this tastes like celery. It’s also unsettlingly translucent. I’m glad I only got four bags of it in the sampler from the grocery store, because suffering my way through a whole canister of this would have sucked majorly.

“Italian Chamomile.” Gimme a break. It is CLEARLY just your average bagged Roman chamomile tea.

Side note- Licorice root is apparently a remedy for nausea, but it actually makes me nauseous. Am I weird for that?

drank Jolly Green Kiwi by Tiesta Tea

My favorite Tiesta blend… I think I reached for it today because it’s full of apples, and because it’s the fall, I have apples on the brain.

I know kiwi is supposed to be a summer fruit, but this tea is good any time of the year. It’s got the same natural sweetness that fruit has, and the green base is superb.

I mixed Zhena’s Chocolate Chai and Republic of Tea’s Good Hope Vanilla and drank it iced.

These are two high-quality rooibos teas that mix quite well together. It tasted like earthy- spicy dessert. I would do it again, except that I like the vanilla rooibos better by itself.
