Hello, Steepster! My gosh, it’s been a while! I just moved into my new apartment and got the WiFi set up today. I also haven’t had much time for tea-drinking because I’ve been adjusting to my new job (tech support… strange career move for an English major, but whatever) and have been insanely busy.

I drank this tea today. I forgot how much I love it. Burnt chocolate, bread, earth, and smoky yerba mate. Delicious! I also love that it makes me feel energized without being jittery. And the black tea knocks down some of the intensity of the mate.

I just updated and fixed my computer, and it’s running so much faster now. Now that I know more about computers and what they need to run properly, I can take better care of my own! Hooray!

I know this is random and not timely, but for some reason, there are these teabags in the break room where I work now. So I tried it. In August.

It’s actually really delicious. It’s smooth and creamy, like eggnog. But it doesn’t really taste like eggnog at all. I taste warm cinnamon, vanilla, and honey.

I’d drink this year round. I mean it. What a nice surprise!

The earthiness of the mint counterbalanced the edginess of the mint actually quite nicely. This blend was better than I expected, but still not fabulous. It was… Surprisingly tolerable, I guess.

I’m still adjusting to my new workplace. I found a box of this in the breakroom and reached for it because I was needing something soothing. It certainly fulfilled that need, if nothing else.

Mourning the death of Robin Williams, big time. The man had so many demons. I hope he’s with the angels now.

I missed my Vanilla Caramel Lipton tea when I finished it. It’s a comforting, sweet flavor. I figured I’d give this one a try too. And hope that it makes me a little less sad.

I taste burnt cocoa, popcorn, sweet vanilla, and a hint of caramel. This brand’s Vanilla Caramel is much more dynamic and less dessert-y than Lipton’s. I like it!

Holy cinnamon, Batman.

I can’t. Just no. It was like doing the cinnamon challenge in my cubicle. The other spices were completely overtaken by the cinnamon.

Blechhhh.

One word for this one: YUM!

Sweet and spicy and smooth and oh my God I need more.

This is supposed to relieve anxiety and boost my mood. I hope it works. It smells sweet and chamomile-like.

I have no idea what saffron tastes like. I’m getting lots of chamomile, with something buttery in the finish. It’s a perfectly innocuous bedtime blend, at any rate.

I love this tea… So simple and sweet. Soothed my nerves about training tomorrow. I hope it helps me sleep tonight.

I got a travel mug with a built-in infuser. Because screw not being able to enjoy my teas because of my busy schedule and harrowing commute (a problem that will soon be remedied once I move into my first apartment! Ahhhh so excited!!!!)

I’d forgotten how good loose black tea tastes. This one has strong raspberry and pomegranate notes, and the base is earthy and burnt tasting. It’s very nice, and it kept my eyes open while I was hanging out with my man tonight at his house. (Raiding of his tea stash was deemed totally necessary.)

Gotta get me some of this for my own collection! Or maybe I’ll just keep stealing his…

Your man has a tea stash? Color me impressed!

drank Refresh Mint by Tazo

Oh my gosh, what a crazy week! Started training for my first full-time gig. It’s a tech support job, so I have to learn all of the systems and things. I love my coworkers, and I think I’m going to enjoy my time with this company. But man, am I tired!

I snagged a cup of this during lunch. I’m usually prejudiced against Tazo because I know that it’s a Starbucks product pretending to be something special. But I got desperate.

The tarragon was an interesting addition. It kind of took the edge off of the peppermint, as odd as that sounds. And the spearmint wasn’t overpowered by the peppermint either, which was another pleasant surprise.

It was easy to keep track of (read: I stuck the teabag in the water and left it there the whole time without any problems.)

I wouldn’t buy this tea for myself, but it’s certainly good to know that there’s a passable commercial mint tea out there.
