From 52teas

This was a suggestion from one of our customers, and I spent an hour digging through my email folders and searching our facebook page, but I couldn’t find the original suggestion anywhere, so I couldn’t put his or her name on the blend.

Anyway, when I first got the suggestion, I realized I was going to have to MAKE some Zabaglione to try, because not only had I not tried it before, but I had never HEARD of it before. Well after trying it (for those of you who never have, I would say it is something like a custardy (flavor, not texture) whipped cream with a hint of wine. After trying it, I was not at all sure that we would be able to make a tea that hinted of the complexity of Zabaglione, but after some trial and error, we now have…

I really like the strawberry aroma – zabaglione i’ve never eaten, but its taste (at least the taste i think it is ;) ) adds a nice touch to this tea. Very well composed, the aromas are not destroying, but building on each other. Have to experiment a bit with adding some sugar to it :)

The scent of strawberry is unmistakable. It’s there, sweet and promising. 205/2 min. I’m glad I steeped this one lightly. It’s fairly strong. The strawberries are still there in the scent and in the flavor. There’s also a custard like taste to this. It’s similar to cream, but it has more depth like it has been mixed with dulce de leche. It’s a great combination for a morning tea. Lovely! The black tea holds its own. It’s strong, but not bitter. There is some astringency to this, but it’s not bad. The strawberries and custard flavors round it out.

I don’t know what Strawberry Zabaglione is, but this 52teas blend is rockin’! A blast of strawberry as you open the bag, then it hits your tastebuds as you brew up a cuppa. Strawberry tea is hard to find – good strawberry tea that doesn’t taste cheap nor bland. Frank, you are an amazing tea blender; Strawberry Zabaglione is a tea I cannot and will not live without. LOVE the bold, real strawberry taste from the first sip to the last drop. 2nd infusion isn’t too bad either.

Mmmmm! I like this one! I shared a cup with my mom and she loved it too. The one downfall of this tea is that it is perhaps missing the taste of the wine. However, as a strawberries with custard tea—-Delicious. Great strawberry flavor and I like to enhance the creaminess with a splash of cream. Thumbs up!!!

I love it! I’m almost supernaturally compelled to give this tea a perfect score. That this was posted to the 52teas permanent collection couldn’t possibly make me happier. I am horribly biased when I say this but I’ve never had a better tea. The Blueberry Zabaglione was my first 52teas flavor, and it is absolutely to die for. This is going to heaven. I’ve never actually had Zabaglione, but I can certainly detect an aspect of custard and wine in this tea. Add some almond milk brings out an amazing strawberries and cream/strawberry shortcake quality. The blend feels both subtle/delicate, as well as complex in that the strawberry is just as much at the forefront as the tea itself. Everything about it is wonderfully complimentary. Can a tea actually be perfect? I don’t think it can get any better than this.

This is very nice, but not quite as strongly flavored as I had hoped. I haven’t had it with sugar yet, though, only with a bit of soymilk, so I might bump up the rating when I try it again later. The creamy custard taste is definitely there, but the strawberry seems like more of an afterthought that adds a subtle sweetness.

A pretty decent tea. I’d never had zabaglione either, but imagine it must be really good. Very strawberry tasting. It was sweet on its own, I did not add any sugar but can only imagine how great that would be. I added a little milk, not that the tea needs any, it’s already kind of creamy, but I can use the calcium.

Sweet strawberry and a touch of cream…it is so desert like. Now I wish I knew what a zabaglione was…

A big thanks to Rachel for this one. :)

Hey, Frank, it was me who gave you the idea for this tea.

I’ve recently developed a fondness for strawberry flavored teas, and this one is yummy! It’s creamy and strawberry-y. To me, it’s missing the marsala flavor, but it’s nevertheless a very delicious treat!

TeaEqualsBliss

Well, THANK YOU DEBBI, for giving FRANK this idea! It was a great one!
