From 52teas

The original blend was created using organic honeybush, cinnamon chips and organic flavors.

We can do that – but we thought, we can do more! We minced up some vanilla bean and added it to the mix to add just a hint more vanilla flavor to the blend. You’re going to love the difference this makes!

Here’s the original description, we thought it applies here too: We took our caffeine-free African honeybush and blended it with organic cinnamon chips and natural flavors (including the essences of butter, brown sugar and cream cheese frosting to name a few). This is the real deal: You’ll swear someone just baked a batch of ooey-gooey cinnamon rolls.

Ingredients: Organic Honeybush, organic cinnamon chips, organic vanilla bean and all-natural, organic flavors.

This is one of those teas that the moment I saw Frank advertise it, I knew a pouch had to be MINE. However, I ended up bringing the pouch to work and sharing with friends so there isn’t much left! :(

BUT it’s the Dec. 24 tea in the 12 Days of Christmas for 52 Teas so happiness reigns! YAY! :)

This is one I’d love to see added to the permanent collection. It’s second only to Pancake Breakfast (and many of you know about my love affair with that blend).

This reminds me of a cinnamon sugar blend my mom would make for us to put on oatmeal and toast. (It was the only way I would eat oatmeal…doused in spices and sugar). This blend has just the right amount of cinnamon – no underwhelming and overpowering here.

I steeped it for the length of the cup as I do with honeybush tea. So I can’t infuse but I have one enjoyable cuppa. And I love that it’s caffeine-free; perfect for winding down in the evening.

This is a winner, Frank! :)

I really liked this too!

Uniquity

Yay! I will be giving this a shot later, I just got done taping my sample all up. I finally got one that was open at the bottom, but luckily I knew to watch out for it. Smells VERY cinnamon!

Awesome! I love this. It is sweet, creamy and dreamy! The cinnamon is just right – it is spicy enough to provide that tickle the taste buds but it isn’t spicy-hot. Together with the flavor of brown sugar and butter it tastes just like the filling of a cinnamon roll.

Another amazing blend from Frank!

~1tsp / 8oz cup + a little bit of sugar

Good gravy is this good! I used the same tea leaves I used last night for my sister’s cup, and it STILL came out delicious. The tea had a creamy consistency and had a real buttery, sweet taste. I was going to make some Oolong tea next but I might just make another cup of this.

wish i had a punny tea name

“good gravy” totally threw me off at first i was like TEA THATS LIKE GRAVY EWWWWWWWWWWW— oh. IM EXCITED TO TRY THIS THO

starfishey

Nope, just me and my Minnesota.

Nik

I don’t like cinnamon in my tea, but you make this sound so scrumptious. =)

Lesli

Ahaha “Good Gravy!” I love it. I love the mid-west.

starfishey

Haha! Thanks everyone!

Nik- I’m glad I could make it taste good because it IS if you make it right. I’ve had several misses though. Not the most forgiving tea out there.

Really? Is this just a drink? It is too tasty not to be junk food. I think weight watchers should investigate this-it is that good. Believe the hype people. Ok, I have to hurry and see if there is any of this left to buy!!!

Mercuryhime

I know, right? Frank is just a tea flavoring magician!

Ninavampi

Very much so! Frank is super cool! The best tea magician ever!

I’ve never rated a tea at 100……. This is beautiful. I can taste the icing. I can taste the cinnamon. The sugar… the….. Carbs! As a fatty pants on a diet, and a carboholic, I can’t tell you how happy this makes me. Ashley, you’re an angel for sending me yours sample. Frank is a God for making this.

No cream. Pinch of sugar. I’m all smiles over here. This NEEDS to be permanent. I’ve never bought a pound of tea… I’d buy a pound of this… maybe two.

Ashley Bain

HEY I have an idea. Since I am equally obsessed, what if I talked to Franky about us splitting a pound? Each paying for half?
Although he really should consider making this a permanent; he’d make bookoo bucks.

Ashley Bain

But you still have to try this with a splash of some sort of creamer. AGHHhhh to die for. Crap I need to go make a cup right now. What I really love is that it’s naturally caffeine free, and I have to watch my caffeine intake because of my over active heartbeat. It really is a God send. haha.

Ashley Bain

Totally just messaged Franky on FB about it.

IllBeMother221B

I wish he would bring this back I missed it being on vacation that week!

Ashley Bain

psssssst. A reblend is coming! Yessss!

Thanks for this sample, Stephanie! I am really enjoying all the 52teas samples I got in our swap. I tried this last night. Reminded me a lot of strawberry pie honeybush without the strawberry. Didn’t taste much pastry flavor, although, I thought it hit me during one sip. I still have enough for another try, so I’ll try it with a longer steep time and see how that goes.

Whee! Another tea from Jenn to try with Sandy! I will try not to drool on the keypad. No promises.

Oh. Oh. OH! BOY! Cinnamon, yes yes yes! But the frosting on top is there, and the warm, soft, almost gooey bread! It’s all here in this cup. Please remember that I am that one human being in America who doesn’t like Harney and Sons number one selling tea, Hot Cinnamon Spice. This is the perfect level of cinnamon, with the perfect additions to taste just like a fresh, warm cinnamon roll.
Bravo, Frank! And thank you, Jenn!

TeaBrat

I really liked this one too! It was delicious…

Ninavampi

It was revived! : ) Just ordered! So excited that I am going to get to try it!

I thought it may have just been ‘contamination’ of my samples from being stored together because all my 52Teas samples smell exactly the same. Black tea, rooibos, whatever. Same smell, and similar taste. None of my other samples have the problem. I wonder if it’s a flavor he uses, no idea.

This tea was cinnamony, but no cake or bakery taste to it. I drank some this evening. This afternoon I had some actual cinnamon buns and guess what they didn’t taste like?? ….this tea.

And I don’t like cinnamon enough to drink a pure cinnamon flavored tea. You know what else I don’t love??….rooibos.

52Teas maybe just aren’t for me. Sad.

Southern Boy Teas

Depending on how your samples were packaged, this can easily happen. Tea is VERY susceptible to absorbing flavors and aromas. I made a sampler pack once when I first got started in this business and packed several different teas in the same tin; the baggies I used for the samples did not have a high enough barrier strength to keep the flavors from melding together. I had several customers return their samplers complaining that they all tasted the same before I understood what was going on. =(

TeaLady441

That’s too bad. I think I keep mine in the same packaging as I get from the merchant in the hopes that it won’t get contaminated!

Indigobloom

Try it at 2.5 min. I find it really helps to be exact with 52teas, and is generally consistent between the different blends.

ohfancythat

I have enough left to try again, it smells pretty cinnamon and the taste too but it must have picked up scents from other teas, as they are starting to smell the same. But I don’t seem to have that problem with any of my other samples! That’s why I wonder if there’s a particular flavor in this that’s also in some others that I’m smelling/tasting. I was probably not destined to love this one anyway as I’m not a fan of rooibos you can taste, haha.

ohfancythat

*pretty cinnamony

Sil

IB – franks honeybush actually seem to do better with longer steeps I’ve found. ESP in the case of strawberry pie. At 3 mins or so its cinnamon ey……at 8+ mins there’s lots more strawberry.

ohfancythat

I left it five min based on other reviews saying 8 min! So I can try longer next time maybe :)

Well, it’s a good thing I picked up two packages….because once again I LOVE yet another tea from Frank! Not only do the dry leaves smell like cinnamon rolls, but so does the tea after steeping. But it doesn’t stop there oh no it TASTES like a cinnamon roll too. There is a perfect mix of cinnamon and honeybush that simply melts in your mouth and dances on your tongue! I may be obsessed with this tea. I am going to have to go easy on drinking this because I can easily see me drinking both pouches in less than a week! I know I really want this to last.

52teas 12 Days of Christmas Sampler 2011 – Day 11

Yay! Cinnamon Roll Honeybush! I mean, I’m not excited about the Honeybush part. But I LOVE cinnamon rolls!!!

And this tea pretty much just tastes exactly like cinnamon. I get a hint of cloyingly sweet Honeybush, but mostly I just taste delicious cinnamon. This is probably the best Honeybush tea I’ve ever had. I’m not getting anything resembling a hot buttery roll, but it’s still good.

I have to give this a lower rating because it is Honeybush, and pure cinnamon tea isn’t all that special. That being said, it’s not an overabundance of cinnamon. It’s executed well.

The bottom line: I usually absolutely detest Honeybush, so that should be a huge tip off how great this tea is. Buy this up, people!
