Caramel Cheesecake Black Tea

Black Tea by 52teas

Some things are just meant to go together. A slice of ooey-gooey caramel cheesecake and an amazing black tea is one of those things, and now, you don’t have to go to a nice restaurant and pay an arm and a leg to enjoy it, AND you can enjoy it guilt-free, even if you’re vegan! Here’s our new premium black tea blend, fused with natural and organic cheesecake and caramel flavors and blended with bright marigold petals. If you can’t fall in love with this tea, you should just stick to coffee.

No need to adjust your monitor… yes, this is me, writing a tasting note at 8:30 am. My daughter left for school about 45 minutes ago, and usually by now I’m already back in bed and sleeping.

But today, my husband is taking me out to breakfast before he has to go to work… so I am actually awake AND drinking tea while waiting for him to take his shower and ready himself.

This tea is really good. Smooth, caramel-y goodness, and the cream cheese notes seems to come through toward the end of the sip. If I slurp, I notice the buttery pastry notes and it really all comes together for me as caramel cheesecake. Quite yummy!

I don’t know that this is one that I would normally fix for myself as the first cup of the day, as I find the base to be a little less invigorating than I want for my first cup, but … I’ve been wanting to try this for a while, and I’m glad I did. Even though I probably could use a stronger kick right now… hopefully the caffeine will start hitting me soon.

I am soooo not a morning person. Who ever came up with this morning business ought to be fired, and then shot.

Wow cool – I’m the first to review this one. I don’t think I get a wizzo button for that or anything but its still kinda cool. :)
This is definitely not lacking in the caramel flavor department and as I have said before Frank knows how to make the cheesecake blends outstanding so it was a no brainer to order this when I saw it go on sale!
Creamy cheesecake goodness with plenty of yummy caramel in a nice black base that stands out as well.
Way to go Frank! Keep the delicious creations coming!
I will say that as this cools it becomes a little bitter but I was not planning on it cooling – you know things happen – distractions take over and before you know it your nice hot yummy dessert tea is getting an attitude because you neglected it.
It happens.
I don’t know if I would want this iced or cold brewed as it is so delicious hot but I am sure that it would be good – I think it was just accidentally allowing it to cool at room temp that caused the bitterness.
I have had two cups today hot and it was perfection!
Every cheesecake blend I have had from 52 Teas has been amazing!
I hope he brings back Cherry Cheesecake Genmaicha!!
Anyway if you love caramel and you love cheesecake GET SOME! As of right now there are only 5 left on his site!

Meh being even a little sickISH will make a diabetics blood sugars do stupid things – like run high for no reason. I wanted something sweet so this is it for me.
So good. Creamy, caramely and soothing.
I would add some rock sugar or creamer but I can’t at this time.
Normally I have great blood sugars that run low if anything but I’m thinking its almost “lady time” who knows I don’t pay attention anymore – Oh wait TMI
Needless to say … yeah thanks Frank for getting me through my moments.

Too bad shipping is so slow to Canada, this took quite awhile to get here :(
But it’s here now!

Yummy, what a wonderful weekend treat. Smooth caramel with light tangy cheesecake. And of course, the smooth black base really shines through.

At this low steep time of 2.5minutes, I didn’t find any astringency.

I look forward to this as a weekend treat, maybe as a latte!

So I went to make tea to make myself less upset (bad assignment, let’s just leave it at I have seen a concentration camp so analyzing what nazis wrote does not strike a positive chord with me, I don’t care what the lesson in rhetoric and ETHICS for gods sake is), and just making the tea made me feel better. This smells like caramel while it steeps, so good.

It smells a lot like Pancake Breakfast, but it tastes like caramel! And it’s pretty creamy, not really cheesecake, but that’s okay. Because caramel.

I’m too upset still to say anything else but this is yummy. It’s so good that being mad someone would ever assign a reading like this doesn’t ruin it.

Really not in a good mood at all…this is from last night as Steepster was not working. Missed my alarm because my phone’s charger port area is messed up and I only now found out it is common on this phone, it’s 2 months out of warranty so if I want something I can trust to charge, I am on my own. It’s definitely not the battery because it holds the charge just fine when I can get one, I am almost tempted to say it’s the cord and get a new one of those first because I tried my car charger and it was fine. Ugh so I’ve been so upset/irritated/annoyed I can’t even be bothered.

Otherwise I just packed up a $92 textbook for Amazon credit and a warehouse deal phone it is.

And then there’s the fact I still don’t have my loan refund from my school. Supposedly they release the funds today but I would REALLY like to have my money already. Nothing like paying interest yourself on money that gets held hostage.

Ok tea.
I still can’t really taste cheesecake in here. Definitely get caramel though.

Guess I’ll try some agave in it next time.

Sipdown! Thanks to kittylovestea for this sample!

Initially when I was brewing up this tea, I thought it smelled almost exactly like Caramel Pumpkin Cheesecake, minus, obviously, the pumpkin. However, the flavour isn’t quite the same. For starters, I think I’m tasting cheesecake, as a tangy creaminess, which I usually can’t pick out in 52teas blends. The caramel isn’t super strong, but it’s present, and fairly tasty. I steeped this one very conservatively, as I only had enough for one cup and didn’t want to ruin it, so it’s perfectly smooth as well, yet I can definitely still taste the black base.

Overall, a pretty tasty tea! Wouldn’t have minded having a packet of this one, although it’s perfectly ok that I don’t, as I have way too much tea already, haha. I think I also liked the pumpkin version a bit better, just for the greater amount of flavouring.

This has been my tea for the past few weeks. In the mornings and afternoons, I crave this tea. It smells very sweet and very much like a caramel tea. To be honest, this is more like a caramel black tea with a drop of cheesecake creaminess hiding away in the background. I’ve found that I have to be careful when steeping 52Teas black tea blends. Under 3 minutes seems to keep it from getting too bitter. This is definitely a great choice for a caramel tea, but I miss the cheesecake flavor!

I think this is one of my favorite from 52Teas so far. It’s definitely a close favorite — not quite as good as the Pancake Breakfast blend. Still, I probably should have purchased two pouches of this as I’m just about out!

Mmmmmm this is much more caramel and cheesecake than the apricot cheesecake blend I previously picked up from frank. The smalle when you open the bag is amazing….caramel and cheesecakes goodness. Upon brewing the tea, there’s a slight bitterness that I’m not a fan of. I added some rock sugar to this and it turned into an amazing cheesecakes caramel delicious creamy tea of wonder.

Mmmmm pizza and…caramel cheese cake tea? Sure! Why not! Been having a lot of fun revisiting and playing with tea today, though I didn’t manage to get it all logged. Tying to keep today to a nice relaxing schedule since tomorrow is running around day starting with feinting at 7am. Wheeeeee!

Sip down! Just in time to make room in my cupboard for the tea order from Black Friday that just arrived.not to mention the wonderful samples that arrived from Nicole :)

This was great while it lasted :) thanks frank!

another delicious afternoon tea that came with me on our trip out to hit the mall (super quick ‘cause i need to find a kettle to replace my current one) and then to costco to pick up a few things that we’ve run out of. Not feeling 100% today so it was nice to have a little pick me up while out and about. caramel? check. cheesecakey goodness? check.

mmmmm only thing making this weekend bearable. I hate testing. Still several hours left to go. At this rate I’ll be able to get through a bunch more of my tea today :) I really do like this tea when i manage not to over steep it.

Mmmmm I think I’ve been brewing this for too long as previous encounters with this have had a bitter back end. Tonight I tried really hard to keep my brewing time for this as close to 2 mins as possible and that worked! As with most of franks cheesecake blends, this is more caramel than cheesecake but its a nice smooth caramel which is a nice change from the spicier pumpkin cheesecake one that I’ve been having of his as of late. It’s going to be a long weekend of testing for work so I’m antitipating getting through a few more of the teas I have kicking around the house that need to be tried for the first time and also finished off as they’re nearly done. :)

Mmmmmm…. Chocolate chip toffee cookies fresh from oven with a cup of this. Delicious! Steeped for 2 mins saves the astringency from coming out. Now it’s just a great cup of caramel wonder.

mmmm quick tea with lunch before we head to the gym. I still think the caramel pumpkin spice cheesecake one is way better than this, but this one will do in a pinch. Having fun dorting through my teas again today :)

mmmm so this isn’t nearly as delicious cold as it is hot. Such is the downside to forgetting to drink my tea in the morning. Also…for whatever reason my tumbler, well one of them appears to be “broken” in that it’s all of a sudden super hot and cools down way too quick. thankfully the other one i have is working ok.

I’ll be sad to see this one go…i’ve got enough for maybe one more cup. BUT i do have delicious pumpkin caramel cheesecake waiting for me to ease the pain lol

Mmmmm delicious goodness. Ill be sorry when this one is gone. It’s been a good run :)

mmmmm cup of tea while finishing up the dishes! Thank god it’s almost the end of the week.

Another black to keep me going today. I’m sure i’ll switch off to something else if i get a chance to have any other tea at work today but this is doing the trick. Just a bit of flavour and sweetness to wrap up my lunch :)

Mmmmmmm tasty tasty tuesday morning tea. Getting near the end of this tea but it’s been a good run. :)

Mmmmm tasty tea with dinner while i do some work before the week starts up again. Whee!

Very delicious. Good on a rainy day like the one I’m having now. However, wished the cheesecake component was a little stronger. The caramel however is very rich. I think this one is best catagorized as a comforting cozy tea. Yummy!

TastyBrew

Man! This is good! My last few 52teas have underwhelmed me a bit, but this is super good. A very nutty caramel flavor. I hope this gets reblended, I blew my sample from Alphakitty in one big pot not expecting to like it much. Now I’m sad it’s gone already!

UPDATE I’m really loving this. If anybody has any they wouldn’t mind parting with, I’d gladly swap something for it. My cupboard isn’t too up to date so PM me if you’re interested and I’ll send you a list. I have a lot of good stuff!

CHEEEEEEEEEESECAKE! YAAAAAHHHHH

Yeah, I order Caramel Cheesecake Black tea without second thought! Very pumped with all these cheesecake teas, oooh yeah!

I had just finished making a huge meaty lasagna and hadn’t washed my hands of sticky noodles and cheese when the mail dude came with my packages. I got this tea (CCC) and Benson’s snuggly rabbit bed! Benson is shedding like a beast and I’m hoping this bed will attract all the black fur from flying everywhere. I’m tired of getting rabbit fur in my tea!

DRY: Strong, caramel liquor smell.

STEEPED: Steeps up a dark red/brown tea. Smells like black tea and sweet.

TASTE: A strong robust black tea with a caramel sweetness. I’m getting some bitterness and slight astringency at the end.

Sweetened with plain rock sugar, I find the caramel comes out more + smoother and the tea becomes creamy cheesecake twang like. Bitterness disappears, but theres still some dryness at the end (unless it’s leftover from me drinking it unsweetned). Totally delicious sweetened!

WHO’D WANT A PIECE OF THIS TEA: Black tea drinkers – the black tea is quite strong I find, but it is good tasting black. Also good for tea peeps that like to add sweetener to their tea.

COMMENTS: I actually was disappointed while drinking this unsweetened as it was bitter and kinda caramelly. Sweetened, this CCC is amazing!
Of course, maybe others should tinker with the temperature and steep times more to see if this could come out better.

Overall, pretty good but I personally like the recent Apricot Cheesecake Shou Mei from 52 teas much more. I am glad to have this tea and will enjoy it when I’m in the mood for a sweetened black.
(cheesecake black tea latte? I always say lattes and never made them these days, too hot still is southern california!)

I’m not sure what I did wrong. I am not getting any caramel notes just a kinda blah black tea. I had to dump it out! Too much leaf? not enough leaf? I don’t know. Not rating this one because I am not sure what happened here….

Yumm-o! This was perfect. I could easily drink this every day. It was perfectly balanced, just enough caramel with just enough cheesecake. I had this hot, well room temp by the time I got to enjoy it, but I’m thinking it would be awesome iced too.

I feel like my tasting notes have been a little blah lately, but honestly, besides 52Teas’ Butterbeer and Graveyard Mist (OMG) I haven’t really been inspired. Now, this tea tastes very nice. I get the caramel reference but not really the cheesecake reference. I do sweeten my tea. Maybe I will try it with a little soymilk to see if that brings out the cheesecake flavor. It was good, just for me there was no WOW factor. Am I just spoiled?

Oh my wow.
This is one of the few flavored teas I’ve tried that actually tastes as I expected. It’s delicious! The caramel and cheesecake flavors are perfectly balanced and do not taste artificial.
I’m in love.
