Today’s work iced tea. This one got the usual SBT treatment (3 minutes in 300ml boiling water, topped up to 2 litres with cold water, and then into the fridge overnight). I vaguely remember having tried the 52 Teas Pina Colada Honeybush quite a while back, and I’m sure I liked it pretty well. It’s certainly a day for tropical teas!

I’m impressed with this one. Coconut is, I’d say, the prevalent flavour, but there are quite strong hints of pineapple kicking around in the background. It’s creamy from the coconut and fruity from the pineapple, so a pretty nice combination all told. It’s light, refreshing, and quite juicy – perfect for a hot day sitting in front of a computer. Now all I have to do is pretend I’m not!

This is one I’d repurchase in future, assuming it’s still available. It’s a pretty true-to-life recreation of a pina colada, considering it’s actually tea and totally non-alcoholic. A summer time treat.

Backlog:

As I mentioned at the start of the full-length review of this tea – http://sororiteasisters.com/2014/04/19/pina-colada-flavored-iced-tea-from-southern-boy-teas/ – I had become quite spoiled on my SBT iced teas after having an iced tea that … wasn’t SBT … and wasn’t good. I was glad to get the SBT back into my iced tea pitcher!

This one is pretty tasty. The pineapple and coconut come through well, with maybe just a wee bit more pineapple than coconut. There is a subdued rum note. And I can taste the black tea and it’s GOOD. Again … that’s probably my spoiled tea brat talking because that TAZO iced tea just … was bad. This was good. Yay for Frank!

We polished off the pitcher of Honey Ginger in less than no time — it lasted maybe two days — so this one was next. While I don’t think either Fiance or I care for it as much as the Honey Ginger, it’s pretty good.

This is far less subtly flavored than the Honey Ginger, but it works. There are elements of coconut, pineapple, and orange, and the brew seems to be a little smoother or creamier probably from the coconut. I’m not big on sweetened teas, but a little sugar really only adds to the tropical drink feel of this one.

I don’t think there will be any problems finishing this off.
