Jasmine #12

Oolong Tea by Adagio Teas

Oolong tea from the Fujian province of China infused with the delicate scent of the night-blooming jasmine flowers. If you enjoy jasmine tea, we urge you to try the sublime taste of its well-made varieties. The ‘Jasmine Suite no. 12’ is an exotic Dragon Phoenix Pearl tea, comprised of intricate jasmine-infused pearls. Each pearl combines two delicate leaves and an unopened bud. When added to water, the pearls majestically unfurl, releasing their delicate scent and flavor. A spellbinding treat for all senses. While not cheap, this tea is well worth the experience.

This is the favorite tea in my cabinet at the moment. I have brewed these up to 5 times and had a good cup every time. I found it only got better with subsequent brews even. All in all a very delicate and wonderful tea.

This tea is sublime, absolutely worth the price. The jasmine scented pearls produce a delicate floral cup.

A nice jasmine. Simply gorgeous leaves, both before and after brewing.

Single cup, 1 Splenda, second brew.

An amazing cup of tea! I brewed it first for a friend, then took the second brew for myself. I bought the sampler, and already want to order a pound.

Single cup, 1st brew, 2 raw sugar

Single cup, 2nd brew, 2 raw sugar

Second brew, single cup, 2 raw sugar.

This is the first time I left leaves overnight in my IngenuiTEA and used them for a brew the next day. A slightly sharper taste, but still very good.

First brew, single cup, 3 raw sugar

Bleh…thought I wanted it a little sweeter this morning, but it came out TOO sweet.

Single cup, 2 raw sugar, first brew

Still one of my absolute favorites.

Single cup, 1st brew, 2 raw sugar

Trying a new brewing method for oolongs.

First brew was 15 seconds and dumped.

Drinking second brew at 30 seconds.

Single cup, 2nd brew, 2 raw sugar.

Single cup, 2 raw sugar

1st brew, single cup, 2 raw sugar

Second brew, single cup, 2 raw sugar

Single brew, 1st brew, 2 raw sugar.

It seems I barely ever brew a 2nd or 3rd time lately, and that’s a shame. I actually enjoy the 2nd brew more than the first, but always forget I have a pot of leaves on my desk to brew again.

Single cup, 1st brew, 2 raw sugar.

I’ve tried to drink this without sugar, but I’m not getting the sweetness others get. It’s still good without it, but I do like a little sweetness when drinking tea.

First brew, single cup, 2 raw sugar

Single cup, 2nd brew, 2 raw sugar

Single cup, 1st brew, 2 raw sugar

Single cup, 2 raw sugar, second brew

love it – nice and light as long as you don’t oversteep.

light and refreshing – but not as flavorful as other jasmine teas I’ve had, or other jasmine pearls for that matter

2nd steep, still awesome, not bitter, picking up more of a spiced aspect.

At this point, I’m feeling a slight caffeine boost from steep #1, but not as much as I have when previously drinking Jasmine #12. A good thing. And thus, I will assume that over-steeping = over-caffeinating.

One of my classic all time favorites – very smooth and mellow, delicate and fresh.

I usually get a pretty serious caffeine buzz from this tea, too – so I’ll update you on whether or not that’s the case today in my followup 2nd steep post

Although a little pricey, it goes a long way. I always have this tea on hand, and often make it for guests. This was my “gateway tea” – there was no turning back to supermarket teas after this one.

Perfect after my lunch

Man, I LOVE this. It’s just perfect after the lunch!

The farmer growing this tea says: " the hardest part for jasmine pearl is jasmine flower blending. In order to get the best flower time, we must do this job in the midnight in Jul and Aug when the best time for flower blooming comes. Meanwhile we must control the temperture and time. A good quality jasmine pearl requests several time of blending so as to absorb the richest flower flavor."
This month 10% of sales will be donated directly to the farmer.
