Wild Strawberry

Fruit Herbal Blend by Adagio Teas

Even when the strawberry harvest is waning for the year, our Wild Strawberry herbal blend will have you smiling like the first pick of the season. Fresh strawberries, apple pieces, hibiscus flowers and rose hips create a mellow, almost dessert-like tea. Sweet strawberry and sugared rhubarb aroma, beautiful warm berry color, pleasantly aromatic and not super sweet. A caffeine-free cup of pure delight.

Ingredients: rose hips, hibiscus flowers, apple pieces, natural strawberry flavor, strawberries, raspberry leaves

Not bad, slightly sweet mostly tart. Still refreshing, I would enjoy this on a hot summer day over ice. Guess I will be waiting a while for that. :-)

I made this again and added some honey and wow it was good. It would make for a refreshing iced tea. Perfect for a hot summers day. I bumped up the score.

I will start this out by saying that I absolutely hate hot hibiscus-based tea. Just, ew.

But iced? That’s another story. This tea has become a summertime staple for my household; it’s tart and sweet and fruity and all around perfect for quickly-approaching summertime afternoons. And it doesn’t need added sugar, so it’s pretty guilt-free as far as refreshing cold drinks go. We just reordered another pound of it (it’s very affordable too, huge plus).

So this stuff makes a pretty good ice-pop!

Brewed this up pretty strong (20g to 4 cups) and sweetened with 1/4c sugar, froze into some ice-pop molds… very satisfying and refreshing. Might brew it stronger next time though, since the tastebuds tend to numb when eating frozen treats. I also don’t like super-sweet stuff, so if you want to try it, you might find yourself adding more sugar. I’m thinking of cutting it back further next time.

Not the conventional way to enjoy tea, but hey, it’s July in central Texas; some days hot tea is not going to cut it! I wonder what other teas might be good frozen?

I picked up a sample of ‘Oscar Wilde Strawberry’ today at Atticus Tea in Park City. I know they get a few of their teas from Adagio and this one looks to be an Adagio tea so I’ll review it here. This tea is pretty good. It has a nice strawberry flavor, not too much though. It’s tart. I added a fair amount of agave nectar to it. It has no medicinal flavor like many fruit teas can get.

I definitely like it, and yet, could not add more of it to my shopping cart when I was in the adagio site a few minutes ago. I like it, but cannot imagine wanting more than a sample size of it. It’ll be nice for a few cups.

And, I have to give props to Atticus Tea for giving this to me for free. I was buying something else and asked if I could have a 1/2 oz of this to try. They wouldn’t charge me for it.

I said I wasn’t going to buy more of this, and yet I did. Must be good, eh. This tea is tart and yummy. Tastes like a strawberry cobbler (ahem..after you add a fair amount of agave nectar to it). Now, this tea, while it has rosehips, does not taste like roses… thank god. This tea is a nice evening treat.

I remember liking this more when I tried it last than I do now. Maybe I didn’t use enough in my teapot, because it’s a lot weaker than I remember. Before it was very bright and flavorful, with a taste of strawberry jam. Now it’s just weak with a hint of strawberry. Hm.

I feel like I just can’t quite get it right today. I really thought I wanted something super sweet and all, but somehow this is just too much. Delicious, but too much all the same.

I needed a really big, sweet kick in the pants this morning. So I mixed up a pretty strong batch of Weight to Go!, Wild Strawberry, and then I threw in some straight pu-erh from a friend in China. Lots of sugar. It was exactly what I needed. Sweet, tangy, with a great undercurrent of strong pu-erh, and I’m ready to go!

Mixed with To Life from Teavana. This really sets a new bar for delicious blends. WOW. Seriously. If you have both of these, please give it a shot. 3 tsp To Life, 3 tsp Strawberry, sweeten to taste. I don’t know if I can ever drink another fruity tea.

Had the most excellent smell when I first opened it up!

Think I may have added a bit too much of the tea into it, because wow was it strong at first taste. I did two “heaping” teaspoons to account for the two cups I was making, but maybe I heaped a little much. I also let it steep near the max time suggested – 9 minutes. The color is a very deep red. The taste is slightly bitter, and I feel like I can taste more of the apple than the strawberry. But when I added a spoonful of sugar it offset the bitter taste perfectly! Entirely enjoyable that way.

Hello again autumn, hello again hot tea drinking, and hello again steepster.

It’s cold enough that I actually want to drink something hot. But at night, I do not want any caffeine. So I’ve been drinking this tea, and it’s quite nice. The taste is fruity and a bit floral. Even without any sugar, it’s somehow a bit sweet. There’s nothing spectacularly “wow” about it, but it’s very drinkable, and I’ve had several mugs of it over the past couple of weeks.

Also, the brewed tea is very red.

Good bright fruity herbal tea. Had a nice light aroma of strawberries with overtones of lemon; not as much strawberry flavor as I would have liked, instead having a stronger lemon finish. Good with honey.

Brewed this one hot with no sugar added. Mostly tastes strongly of hibiscus with a few sweet notes of the strawberry towards the end of the sip with a little bit of a sweet and sour aftertaste. I think this tea would be much better with a little sugar so next cup (I have one left from my sample) I will add a teaspoon of sugar and see if the rating will go up.

Sipdown! I’m just writing this tasting note to say that. I’m not actually drinking the tea, I’m giving it to my coworker. He was surprisingly difficult to boil down to what type of tea he wanted. Or maybe I just have too many choices. It’s probably excessive when asking for a fruity herbal for me to come back with 10 choices. Strawberry? With or without cinnamon?

When I received my new package of samples from Adagio, the AC was out at my place, so I decided to begin with this tea, cold-brewed and heavily sugared. The resultant beverage was a pretty pink tisane that smelled like strawberry gummies. It was sweet and light, with a good strong strawberry flavor (though I would have preferred it to be a little stronger). It was a bit too heavy on the apple for my taste, but over all, it made for a tasty and refreshing iced tea—a nice escape from the heat of an apartment without air conditioning in Florida!

Today I decided to try this tea hot with a little sugar. It is delicious—the strawberry flavor is much stronger in the hot version than in the cold, and the apple flavor has all but vanished. Tart and satisfying, although the mouthfeel is a bit syrupy. It smells exactly like fresh picked strawberries, and the tea is a very beautiful deep pink color. It makes for a bright spot of warmth and color on such a grey and stormy day.

I’m not a big tisane fan, but I’ve been looking for a late-night tea that will work for me before I go to bed. My stomach is really sensitive to tea at night largely because of the meds I’m on. Even so, I thought I’d buy a sample and brew it up.

It’s actually a pretty good tisane. Lots of strawberry flavor and the apple adds quite a bit of body to it. I added natural cane sugar because I tend to think of tisanes as weak, but this works pretty well. Better than most. I may have to buy it for the evenings.

Really enjoyed this tea! I put in a little honey to counteract the tartness of the strawberry flavor, and it was perfect. Yum.

I received this as a free sample with my order. I really enjoy this tea. It is sweet with a lot of tart, but you can bring out the sweetness easily with a little bit of amber sugar crystals. It is good hot, but even better iced.

I ended up getting this flavor in a sampler pack of their teabags. I was a little worried about it, but gave it a try. I love it! Great fresh fruit smell that awakens the senses. I loved it!

I enjoyed this tea hot, but I appreciate it more iced.
No milk or any sweetners.
I love it straight on its own.

This is pretty decent iced. Good strawberry flavor, but it has a little too much hibiscus for me to really like it. I’ll finish the packet, but I won’t be buying it again.

Good iced. The hibiscus finish doesn’t do anything for me, but the strawberry flavor is very nice.

This tea is NOT my thing. It’s not quite as acidic as other fruit teas I’ve had and really not liked, but it’s just not what I like in a good tisane. The ingredients sound amazing and I love Adagio’s Strawberry black tea, but… yeah. No. Might be tasty iced, but I’m probably just going to move on to one of the other Adagio teas I already really enjoy. :)

Probably the best strawberry tisane I have found. IMO every fruit tea still requires sweetening, this would be tart without it. I use it to blend and it works deliciously.

This tea tastes much like fresh strawberries, but the apple flavor really helps. Unsweetened it’s wonderful, and I tried it with a small amount of cane sugar, which made it taste like homemade strawberry jam.

I’m very “eh” about this one. It is sweet on its own, but also quite sour, so I added some Splenda. That made it better, but it still wasn’t great. Maybe sugar would have worked better. It definitely smells and tastes like strawberries and is a wonderful red color. I would drink it maybe as a desert tea. Not bad, fruit teas may just not be the type for me :)

Amazingly good and sweet enough that there’s no need for sugar.
