Oh adagio….how i hate your black base. This smells divine! It even tastes quite delicious, until that black bitterness hits. I’m going to try the last of this cold brewed so that I can see if that helps at all. Overall, this isn’t a bad tea, it just needs to be with another base…not adagio lol

Edit: as the tea cools off it loses that icky adagio black taste, so i’m hoping the cold brew will be delicious since the fruity aspect of this tea is pretty tasty!

Thank you Terri!

Sipdown!

Tried this cold brew and it’s a little better but not by much.

Giving this another shot (although, I haven’t logged it before for some reason…bad Steepsterite!). It’s simply not tart, it’s just bitter. And for a flavored black, especially one named for a fruit, one has greater aspirations. I’ll drink this pot and update if the liquid nearer to the leaves brings some tartness (didn’t mix well post-infuse…which reminds me… new teapot! 34 ounce version of this: http://www.amazon.com/Bodum-17-Ounce-Glass-Stainless-Steel-Filter/dp/B000MWG4CY …love the spout).

My next gardening tea of the day, which I enjoyed with some stevia. It’s very juicy, & has a decent berry flavor IMO, although to me it tastes more like boysenberry.

Sipdown #3 (I think that puts me at 220)
Really just drinking this to lessen the load on my cupboard a bit, but it is kind of tasty, in a bright fruity pipe tobacco sort of way. It will be good to sip on for the next hour or so while I run errands!

My sample was the perfect size to make a gallon iced. After I made my gallon, I heated up a 16oz mug. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE blackberries. They are the one fruit I will buy all year round if I can manage to find them and will even pay more for organic.

What a complete disappointment! For a person that doesn’t really like fruit flavored blacks; however, it’s a pretty good tea if you ignore the fact that it’s supposed to be blackberry. But I can’t. The base is smooth and medium bodied w/ just a hint of astringency that plays my tongue. Every once in a while I get a berry tartness, but as Suzi said, it’s not the focus here and I’m sure I couldn’t identify or even tell you it was there if I didn’t see the tin.

I’m too cold to make match a this morning. I’m afraid my shivering will send my precious matcha powder all over myself and the kitchen, so I just nuked 16oz of this to have w/ breakfast. Still no change.

I’m a little disappointed with Adagio’s Blackberry Tea.

For starters, the blackberry flavor is really light. I could hardly taste it when the tea was hot; as it cooled the flavor became more noticeable but it never became the focal point of the beverage. It remained a subtle hint of blackberry in the background of a standard black tea. On the plus side, it was definitely blackberry – not raspberry or strawberry.

The tea was also pretty sensitive. I over-steeped it by a minute, a minute and a half max but that was too long. It was quite bitter.

I am glad I bought the tea, because I think it’ll be good for experimenting. It may yet make a decent iced tea, since the flavor seems to come out more at a cooler temperature.

I’m out of this now. And I’m okay with that.

Forgot to log this this morning. Agree with other reviewers that this is bitter and it doesn’t taste like blackberries at all to me. Adagio’s flavored blacks don’t impress me much these days.

I’m starting a new tea blog today & thought I would set up the mood by making some scones & brewing a pot of tea I hadn’t tried yet. Good thing I can make another pot later…

Okay, I love Adagio. I love their customer service & most of the teas I have tried. Till now…

This would be a great review if this was just a plain black tea, but sadly, it’s not. It’s supposed to have a blackberry flavor & there just isn’t enough of that flavor. Oddly enough the smell is there when you open the bag & inhale. If I hadn’t smelled it, I would never have known I was drinking blackberry tea.

I even tried adding more sugar, but it wasn’t enough to really make the blackberry flavor reach my senses.

I’m disappointed. Adagio never lets me down. I’m surprised by this one.

I find Adagio’s flavored blacks get bitter really fast. Like. Really fast. So three minutes is on the very upper end of how hard I’d push one. That being said, at 2:30, it was a smooth cup with mild astringency. It’s a good background to most flavors they have. This one though, isn’t really blackberry to me. It’s certainly fruity, but too tart for my tastes. It’s a great bring to work tea (where it’s boiling or nothing water) because it steeps quick and it’s certainly better than supermarket bagged brands.

Not a bad tea, but since I like fruit teas, this one seems a little lacking. It is kind of on the tart side from how I was thinking it would taste. One way I was able to improve the taste was to blend with Adagio Cream at a 1:1. Blackberry Cream is pretty good, but I have to rate this one as a stand alone and not a blend. As a blend, I gave it about a 75.

Good solid tea with berry hints. I steeped mine for five minutes (two minutes longer than Adagio’s suggestion) and added milk and sugar and was pleased with the outcome. Gentle but definitely present blackberry aroma and taste was simply very nice.

Something very artificial and bitter about it. I think it’s the taste of the blackberry leaves themselves I’m not liking. I’m usually all about blackberry tea, but not this one.

This is my absolute favorite flavored black tea. I have never noticed the bitterness others have mentioned. I do add Splenda to get extra sweetness but I do that with every tea I drink. I wish they offered a decaf version so I could drink it later in the day. I mix this one with so many flavors and love those as well. Great hot or cold.

I was not a fan of this tea. Its a little strong and bitter. Doesnt taste like sweet blackberrys like I was hoping.
