From Adagio Teas

Few things can pull off sweet and savory quite like coconut. And few teas can play with other flavors quite as seamlessly as a classic Ceylon. In one cup, you’ll get the dense, creamy texture of fresh coconut with the balanced brightness and tang of Ceylon black tea. This Coconut blend showcases a perfectly sweet, warm and aroma, as well as a soft finish. Such a well-blended flavor, it’s like they never existed without each other.

The coconut (Cocos nucifera) provides a high-calorie food in its sweet nutty white inner fruit, potable water from its hydrating natural liquid, fiber that can be spun into rope, and a hard shell that can turn into charcoal for fuel. Scientists using DNA discovered two distinct varietals: niu kafa, triangular and oblong with a large fibrous husk, and niu vai, a round form containing abundant sweet coconut “water” when unripe. They’re found in the Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean countries proving to scientists that the coconut is a record of voyages of exploration, trade, colonization, and human cultivation.

Black Tea | High caffeine | Steep at 212° for 3 minutes.

This is a good coconut tea. It tastes like the sweetened coconut you get in the baking aisle. I prefer toasted coconut flavor, or coconut flavor. It’s slightly sweet, better warm than iced. It’s good naked!

Immediately upon opening the packet, the overwhelming scent. I love coconut, and you can definitely taste it here, but it has a little astringency bitter note at the end. The black tea base is quite strong. I don’t love it but is it’s drinkable. Next time ill try it with milk to label down the strong black tea taste.

I adore this tea. It is probably my favourite flavoured tea that I have tried. I only ordered the 15 teabags to give it a try, but next time I will be ordering the largest quantity available. :D

The scent is not what I would call ‘coconuty’. However, it has a sweet tropical taste I rather liked. And it compliments the vanilla black tea nicely.

Simple and plain, but warm and comforting. I love coconut! I burned my tongue several times in my impatience to try this. I need a lot of milk in this because it’s just a bit too strong.

Tasty with a hint of sweetness. Just wish there was a hint more of the coconut in there, but overall, a worthy blend.

This tea does not taste of coconut as much as it smells of coconut. There is still a decent coconut flavor, but it could be stronger. It doesn’t taste tropical to me, more of a baked goods type flavor. This did make me crave coconut, so I am now on the lookout for more coconut teas. Prepared with almond milk and stevia.

I had read the reviews for this tea in the Adagio Teas website and was quite anxious to taste it. The taste of coconut was not as strong as I thought it would be but it was quite nice. This is a tea that I would recommend drinking while still hot because it doesn’t taste as good when cooled down.

What you can expect is a very dominant black tea taste with fresh coconut taste (not so much toasted coconut). I do think the coconut taste could be stronger but perhaps that is just me.

Along with this tea I ordered hazelnut and cream because I heard they were good mixed with this tea. Hazelnut and coconut went together nicely but coconut and cream was a disappointment, mostly because the cream tea was not of my liking. I would like to know if perhaps other mixes can bring out the coconut flavour a bit more.

All in all, this tea is definitely worth trying if you like black tea.

While this tea has a nice coconut aroma, the coconut taste is so mild it is almost absent. Instead you are left with an okay black tea—completely drinkable, but very ordinary.

No sugar added but I played with milk.
I feel like the black tea has an after taste I’m not too fond of but the coconut flavor is good with the tea.
Nice change from a plain black but I don’t think I will crave this.
