Finished a sample of this one off awhile ago. I remember thinking that it didn’t quite work for me as a banana split tea. It was a pleasant nighttime herbal though with some pleasant notes of lemon and the green rooibos base.

Adagio is great at green rooibos teas! I only have this partially used sample from the tea box, but I’ll have to order a larger amount. The green rooibos is marshmallowy and delicious cold. The first time I had this, I tasted a lovely banana. This time I’m getting some nice strawberry. Everything combines really well and makes such a light, tasty treat to drink cold.

Apparently this was day 9 of the Advent Calendar from Adagio. I wanted to love it because I’m always desperate for banana teas but I just didn’t get a lot of banana. What I did get was a nice enough strawberry slightly chocolate blend with a sweet finish. I might have picked up a banana note here and there but if I closed my eyes, I wouldn’t say this was a Strawberry Banana Split tea. I can see this being another blend my nieces would love.

Adagio Advent Calendar – Day 9

Well this sounds interesting! I could definitely get behind a banana split tea if it was executed well. Although there’s no chocolate listed in this one, so that seems like an oversight. But strawberry banana tea sounds good, too! (Do you hear me, Anne of 52teas? ;))

Hmm, well I do get strawberry, and it’s a strawberry jam sort of flavor that’s pleasant enough. However, I also get a lot of lemongrass, which doesn’t really go with the banana split theme at all. I wonder why they included it… As far banana, maybe a hint at the end of the sip? But definitely not enough to warrant the name. The green rooibos is pleasant, as usual, with a mild herbal woody note. Overall the flavor is a bit too light.

It wasn’t bad, but it definitely wasn’t banana split. More like a strawberry lemonade tea maybe?

Fairly nice dessert tea. Artificial tasting strawberry and banana flavor, but not unpleasant in my opinion
