Apple Tea

It’s unusual to see apple flavours paired with a black tea – usually it’s with a green or white tea base, I’ve found. It smells quite fragrant like a sweet ripe, freshly cut apple. The flavour is interesting, starting and finishing with apple notes and in between is the black tea which is a tad astringent. Pretty tasty all told.

I just used the last of this tea to make a big jug of ice tea to help cool me down in this hot English summer weather. I think this tastes much better as ice tea rather than hot because the apple is subtle behind the black tea and cooling the tea down brings out more of the apple flavour and makes it much more refreshing. Even my husband loves this tea and he is more of a coffee person.

I have a sore throat and I thought a fruit tea would be soothing. The apple flavor tastes natural, more like apple juice than apple cider. Added honey to overcome the bitter edge, but no milk. Their lemon and lime black tea probably would have been better for my throat, but I wanted to try a new tea.

This is my favourite tea and so sad that it’s not sold in Australia! I agree with previous comments about it having the perfect balance of flavours. It doesn’t have a “fake” apple flavour like other fruit infused teas, it subtly laces the black tea with an apple flavour… delish!

A lovely afternoon tea. Apple flavoring goes surprisingly well in black tea, and here the flavor balance between tea and fruit is just right.
