Alter Eco Green Tea is grown on the foothills of the Himalayas at 7,000 feet. At this altitude the tea leaves are small with an intense natural aroma and produce an elegant, sweet tasting green tea. The tea is hand-picked by the 300 farmers of the Sanjukta Vikas Cooperative in the province of Darjeeling.
Started in 1996, the cooperative promotes biodynamic agricultural methods to ensure sustainable development in perfect harmony with nature. The farmers work their land to the rhythm of the seasons. By using natural fertilizers, which are better for the quality of the product, the farmers thus ensure their good health and that of the environment.
