They keep this one under the table, so you either have to know about it, or they have to offer it to you. I totally fell for the gimmick of this and decided to buy an ounce. It did turn out to be a very nice tea. The florals were well balanced with other flavors and there was a nice buttery taste to it. I’m still a new tea drinker (at least when it comes to anything besides English and Irish black tea blends), and I haven’t had many other spring Tieguanyins. I’ll have to try this alongside a couple of others soon.
2012 Jade Iron Goddess King *Under The Table* ULTIMATE Tie Guan Yin
AKA Heavenly Fragrance Tie Guan Yin, Competition Grade
This is our highest graded Tie Guan Yin Iron Goddess Oolong! We call this our “Under the table” Iron Goddess, because for those who’ve been to our stores, you know we keep the “good stuff” literally underneath the tea table. First, the leaves are extremely deep vibrant emerald jade green, and the strong floral aroma is very noticeable, even when smelling the dried leaves. The flavor is very floral, with lilac and gardenias coming into mind, followed with a very deep, complex, yet very clean and smooth aftertaste. Once you’ve tried our best, you wouldn’t want the rest!
