San Lin Xi Oolong (Fragrant Aroma)

Oolong Tea by Asha Tea House

A lightly roasted, fragrant aroma (清香) style.
An exemplary early Winter Oolong with a rich, sweet body.

Fragrant Aroma style, known as 清香 (qing xiang), is a very lightly roasted vivid green Oolong.

This late autumn harvest has a subtle fragrance and a rich, smooth, buttery taste. If you’re a fan of silver needle white tea and similarly gentle, clean, yet complex tasting teas, this one is definitely for you.

Wow…David at Asha Tea House always delivers on the oolong. I am always amazed by the quality of oolong that he provides his customers. The dry leaf looks big and tightly rolled.I have never had a San Lin Xi Oolong before so this will be my first. So buttery! Smelling the wet leaf I could not put my finger on what else I smelled until I took a sip. Tasted like buttered cinnamon toast. I know strange…but thats what I got. Light and clean.

David has done it again for me. This is just the first of the San Lin Oolong, I still have the “slightly roasted” and the “charcoal roasted” to go.

About to start the second infusion…:)

Finishing up the last of this one. So good!

This tea is refreshing, clean and sweet. It pairs perfectly with the pouring rain this afternoon. I need something bright! It’s very floral (I’m always terrible with identifying specific flowers) and more astringent than I expected. I wish there were more buttery notes.. in fact, I can’t really taste any in this cup. It’s nice, but there are other oolongs that are smoother and more enjoyable for me.

Wonderful tea, light the rich aroma it’s buttery and mellow but this tea has a little a stronger nutty taste over the floral. Also had a higher astringency to me which I enjoy but tend to drink more of ;)
