Darjeeling

Black Tea by Ashby's of London

A delicate grape-like liqueur from tea grown in Darjeeling, India in the foothills of the Himalayas at elevations of 1,000 to 6,000 feet. A complex aroma with a clear, brisk, and penetrating flavor. All of Ashbys Darjeeling’s are second flush, picked from May until the end of July from the Risheehat garden.

A good solid darjeeling. I need to look up how much these cost, because it’s a pretty nice no-nonsense tea.
I find with some Darjeeling that it is too bitter without milk and yet so weak that the flavour gets drowned by any milk you add. This tea seems to get a compromise so that it works with OR without milk, amazing!

I wouldn’t have guessed grape, but now that it’s mentioned I do taste a bit of a grape-like flavor. I am having it with milk and sugar, so that might cover it over rather than bring it out. I’ve had Darjeeling three times and I’ve never been particularly impressed. Still it’s a good tea to go to when I’m tired of fruity or spicy teas, but still want something that isn’t plain.
