Tea Clinic: Sleep
Ingredients: Pu’erh tea, lavender, chamomile & rose
Pu’erh tea is a fermented tea. It is becoming renowned in the West for its detoxifying properties and is a fantastic aid for over indulgence (alcohol or food!) and it is believed to speed up emulsification of fat.
It is a perfect tea for after dinner and the special ageing process it goes through removes most of the caffeine, making it a nurturing brew before bed.
Poor sleep patterns can be caused by all sorts of reasons, from lack of exercise to nutritional deficiencies to emotional stress.
To quiet the thoughts and wind down, chamomile, rose and lavender all offer gently sedative and soothing qualities, making them excellent for combating stress and promoting restorative sleep.
They raise the spirits and calm the nerves, combining well with the pu’erh, believed to nourish the body, protect the liver and aid metabolism.
