I think I’ve finally mastered this one: make sure water is nowhere near close to boiling and barely let the bag get wet. No bitterness this time around and the pomegranate is nice and fragrant.

Backlogging:

I made some of my own lazy tea eggs for my brother and me to have for a late lunch. I didn’t add any other spices and I only let it soak for about an hour. They were pretty good. You could taste the tea but it wasn’t overpowering. You could taste it more near the tips of the eggs too. This didn’t surprise me since I used a green tea instead of a black tea. I was expecting the tea taste to be weaker.

This is nice. It has a pleasant flavor to it, although it isn’t a distinct pomegranate flavor at first, it does develop as I continue to sip. By mid-cup, I feel that tart tingle at the tip of the tongue! Sweet and tart and tasty!

I like to make iced tea out of this, and it has such a strong taste of rose petals for me; reminding me of my grandmother.

This is one of those green teas that you have to be really careful with. Even though I was under the 2 minutes of minimum steep time I still feel it’s somewhat bitter. However, that could also be the pomegranate. If you’ve ever eaten pomegranate seeds straight from the fruit you know they can be kinda intense.

I’ve added some honey now. Definitely think that it’s the pomegranate that’s causing the slight bitterness.
