I can’t say as I enjoyed this cup but I didn’t dump it down the drain either. It smells like old lady perfume. It’s very pale in taste but what I can taste is the fake bergamot and floral.

Note: I wanted a good cup of hot tea this morning to rid me of fatigue and dreary thoughts. I reached for this Earl Grey Green Tea that my in-laws picked out for me during one of their grocery jaunts. I must say that my mother-in-law favors this brand since all her teas seems to be from Bigelow. It is sold at the market 2 for $5:00.

Each of the tea bag individually wrapped to ensure great taste and freshness. I can attest to this; there is always freshness in the cup that I have had.

I open of the tea bag and place this in my cup and adding the boiled water from the tea kettle I leave this for the four minutes or so. I find it is easier to go attend to something else and five, four minutes can be pass with not having to stare at the clock or timer.

The citrus that is to be found in the Bergamot oil in the tea is very heady; noticeable and pleasant I might add. It is lime scenting not lemon. Tea color is lightly brownish and when I taste the tea after removing the tea bag tea is a lovely mixture of green tea with citron. I am not saying it is tea with lemon or lemon zest. If so the tea would be acidic.

Tea’s aroma is lovely and on a day like this (foggy and misty) one wants to have pleasant smelling things about and not floral like. So this tea’s aroma is find the citrus of the bergamot is conducive to how I am feeling this morning. This cup of tea is helping to ease me into a day that seems dreary.
There is no astringency; tea is cleanly; having no off taste. There is no overpowering of the bergamot oil as I have experience with other teas.

Overall, tea’s body is soft and medium, and yet not weighty, the presence of the bergamot oil is very noticeable as said like a lemon scent; the peels or adding a few grinds of a lemon which turns out is the lasting taste for me. Tea finishes smoothly and clean.

Note: I am having this tea as my morning cup of tea and it is a lovely. I have enjoyed this tea since first I tasted it. I find the bergamot oil evenly distributed throughout tea cup. It makes the tea richer and smoother as all of this goes into creating a good cup of tea.

A review of Earl Grey Green Tea by Bigelow Tea

I am fortunate to have many teas samples for selecting / reviewing. Today, it seems I am continuing with green tea. I have fixed for myself a cup of Earl Grey Tea by Bigelow. I take one tea bag and place this in my cup and pour the boiling water into the cup. I let it steep for several minutes. This tea is very aromatique of the bergamot citrus and it seems to permeate from the cup unto the air and fills ones nostrils and this is most pleasant.

I think prior to trying this Bigelow brand, I had yet to appreciate a tea that carried the flavoring with natural bergamot. In comparison to simply having a cup of green tea, this tea is creamy and smooth, with very little astringency; yet not quite like having tea with lemon.

This is one of my favorite Earl Grey Teas.

I am enjoying another wonderful tea by the Bigelow family. From having steeped the tea for several minutes one can enjoy the tea’s aroma right away which is citrus in base from the flavoring of the bergamot and evenly distributed.

Tea’s color is light brownish with the citrusy aroma from the oil of the bergamot. Tea is smoother and creamier and I don’t feel that I need add anything else to it.

I mean this is good tea because the blending with oil of bergamot is not over powering, rather it is perfectly flavored.

When my wonderful girlfriend brought this tea home to me, I was a little skeptical. To me, Earl Grey and black tea were synonymous. The thought of adding bergamot to green tea was like adding fudge sauce to asparagus. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by this little gem. The light tasting bergamot and green tea complement each other perfectly. The taste is enjoyably fascinating. Neither the Earl Grey nor green tea flavor overpower each other but both are definitely present and accounted for. I like to use this tea to chase down my first cup of English Breakfast tea in the morning. I find that steeping this tea for five minutes produces just the right balance of flavor. I drink this and all of my teas straight up. Like all of Bigelow’s tea formulas, there is only a slight (and not unpleasant) aftertaste at the end of the cup.

This green tea says to brew with boiling water. You never brew green tea with boiling water. I made it with 165 F water and it tasted horrible, like the scraps from chopped garden vegetables you throw in the composter. The bergamot in this tea tastes like spinach. I predict this will be re-introduced.

I love this cheap tea! The green tea is not at all what green tea is supposed to be, but somehow it works. And I don’t think that the bergamot is fake, it just overpowers the base a bit. It’s kind of cheap, stale green tea preserved with bergamot oil, and you know what? It’s perfect! The flavors meld perfectly. I’m going to try Bigelow’s other Earls next.

I’m on my second box, so I enjoy having it available when I need a cup of black/green tea. I was unsure about it at first, so I was pleasantly surpised that I liked it. I don’t use cream or sugar in this tea.

Not bad, would definitely have again.

Found a great deal on a large green tea variety pack so once again I found another excuse to get pick up more tea.

I’ve always enjoyed Earl Grey teas so I was anxious to try it with green tea. I was concerned both flavors might be compromised when combined but the familiar bergamot bite popped on the very first sip. Yummy!

I don’t know why I like this one so much, but I do. Earl grey tea by itself doesn’t excite me much, but I drink this grey green stuff constantly at work. I think the grey makes it a little stronger than the rest of the Bigelow greens and that’s why I like it.
