I can’t believe I’ve not logged this one yet…I know I’ve had it. Anyway, I brewed a strong cup of this up this afternoon. It went at least 10 minutes (one of the plant operations guys stopped in to chat, so I’ve no idea how long it actually went); 10 minutes is my usual steep for this.

I really like this one. I think it’s the closest I’ve come to finding a tea that actually really tastes like apple cider. Good, strong apple taste, and the spice blend is great. I’m so glad I splurged and grabbed a box this season. I like it much better than Republic of Tea’s Hot Apple Cider. Plus, the individually wrapped bags means it can travel well in my purse!

I have been on hiatus for a bit, because I graduated with my bachelors! Now I have to find a job and begin the process for grad school applications. Oh joy!

So I wouldn’t have purchased this tea, except for the fact that I did so in order to make apple spiced donuts out of it. I will be making them within the next week or so for a care package, so I figured I should try drinking it before possibly ruining an entire recipe (baking grain and sugar free can get pricy)! I am happy to say that this tea is actually delicious! It has a true apple flavor with spices. It kind of reminds me of mulled cider, which is something I have not had in years! I bought a few more boxes in case I needed an apple fix or my donuts come out good. :-)

I don’t know why I haven’t logged this tea yet! Big thanks to Jaime for a few bags of this tea. I had another crazy day at work and needed something to help me unwind (even after a LONG nap!) before bed. I thought about having a black tea blend, but didn’t want to risk going to sleep even later. I had 1/2 cup of an uneventful rooibos, and have now turned to this lucky one. Sometimes you just need a good cup of herbal tea. The scent is simply fall and early winter. Even though it’s out of season, I really like the comfort this cup is providing. Tasting the tea, I’m not getting distinct apple flavors, but more of an unidentifiable fruit flavor with the background of light spice. I’m glad that the spices aren’t overwhelming since I really dislike heavy spices and peppery flavors. There is a tartness in this tea that isn’t necessarily what I would mix with cider, but it works. I’m getting a small tickle in the back of my throat.. but it’s not so unpleasant that I can’t continue sipping.
So far this is the closest tea I’ve found that tastes the most like cider. This fall, I might just have to drink cider and wait for some magical tea that tastes even closer… but tonight this is a very comforting, yummy cup.. just fits the mood!

You should try Twinnings Apple Spiced Chai. BEST apple spice tea I’ve tried hands down. Now that I have Tipu’s instant chai I want to stir some into some apple juice- I just need to remember to buy it. Even though chai is traditionally sweetened, I don’t normally, but I’m thinking of sweetening it w/ equal parts raw stevia (although that’s 2x the sweeteness of sugar so I’ll actually only use 1/2 part stevia), caramel ice cream syrup and brown sugar.

@QueenofTarts, glad you found this seasonal favorite comforting …although only in stores in the fall months, we do offer from our website, all year round

Ooh, I really like this one. It’s more appley than spicy, but in a good way. It tastes like real apple cider. If I had more, I would definitely let it steep longer, however. It’s good like this, but I bet it would be amazing at six minutes. There is no odd “herbal” aftertaste to this, so don’t let the name fool you. Mmm.

Warm and comforting. This tea tastes almost like the real thing, only less sweet. I usually have this with at least a little sugar, but tonight I’m reminded that it is also good on its own.

You need to try this with Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts. You really do.

Nicole

Nooooo… I don’t even need to know pumpkin pie pop tarts exist! Get thee behind me!

Suziqzer

Not sure about the pumpkin pop tarts, but I do need to pull this out of my cupboard and enjoy it.. perfect season for it.

Its not a bad tea (or should I say, tissane?). That’s about all I can say about it. The apple and cinnamon flavors defiantly are there, I was just hoping they’d be better, or sweeter at least. This is very tart, almost too hibiscusy. Maybe it’d be better with some brown sugar.

I love apple cider, and I guess after falling in love with homebrew this was destined to be a letdown. Its not bad for the money, but its no replacement for true apple cider.
