I received an individually wrapped tea bag of this tea in my November Goodies Box – http://hungryinportland.com/2012/11/25/my-goodies-box-for-november-has-arrived/ – and am finally getting around to trying it now.

For a bagged tea, this is alright. If it were not bagged, but loose leaf, I would say that this is a very good tea, because I like that I can taste the pumpkin flavor, the black tea has a good strength to it and the spices are lively without overwhelming my palate. I just don’t like the bagged part of this tea, I don’t like that I can taste a slight paper taste in my cup. It is not enough to make me dislike the tea, but it is enough for me to wish I wasn’t tasting it. Fortunately, there is enough good tasting elements of this cup that I’m able to overlook the paper-y part.

So it’s alright … but it could be even better without the bag!

I got this in a swap with teataku- Thank you again!

So this one is great for today as the past few days I’ve been FREEZING. It’s a little warmer today, but still most definitely tea weather. The packets of this tea smell SO GOOD. Like spices. The taste- pumpkin pie! It’s very tasty. I’m not getting as much of the pumpkin as I would like, but it’s definitely there, along with some cinnamon and ginger warmth, and something else. Great cuppa when I want something quick and I’m being lazy- plop in a bag and wait!

Had this one again this morning! I’m always afraid the first time I smell it after I haven’t had it for a couple of days, since it smells exactly like a yucky rooibos, but it never tastes like that. This one is a favorite of mine, still, with it’s pumpkin-y spicy goodness. Nice as a breakfast tea with some milk and sugar :)

I’m not quite sure why the hate – it’s not fantastic or anything, but it isn’t terrible. I’m drinking it with lots of milk like I would a chai, maybe that makes a difference? It’s certainly spicy like a chai, though it has less of a bite than most masala chai blends. I can even taste a bit of pumpkin, although like most pumpkin-flavoured teas it’s not strong.

I’ve been wanting to try this tea forever…to the point that I was thinking of making a Bigelow order to try some. Yesterday, I stopped in at a Kroger I normally don’t go to for some pop and Halloween candy (priorities, people!), and took a walk down the tea aisle.

Yes, I know, I really shouldn’t do such things. But, they had this tea and the Apple Cider one! Grabbed a box of each, and a CS that I’d been keeping an eye out for.

I had started to brew this up last night, thinking it was an herbal blend. Sheer dumb luck made me realize that it’s a black tea, and I saved it for my first pot this morning. It’s definitely pumpkin, and definitely spiced. I can taste the black tea as well, though it is a bit weak. I did try this first pot at 3 minutes; next time around I’ll be doing 5. I think I prefer the Pumpkin Ginger from RoT, though I like that this one is individually bagged. I’ll definitely be throwing some into my purse to take to work with me.

What I do for my friends. I’ve been up since 5, helping my hetero-life partner move into her new, posh, downtown apartment and out of the pigsty, run-down apartment she’s been in. We’ve taken a break, and I’m having a quick cuppa.

To top all this off, her parents are bringing help in the form of a man they want to hook Katie up with. At least he’s meeting the best friend, and scariest one of all, up-front and will know what he’s getting himself into!

One of my favorite things in the world is sitting on the couch with my two year old in my lap, drinking tea together in the mornings.Lately we’ve been drinking this tea because we are out of black loose leaf. We both enjoy it, not my favorite tea but it has a nice warm flavor. I steep it for about 5-7 minutes, the spices aren’t as strong as I would like but they do the job!

In my latest bagged tea drinking endeavors, I came across this one when my husband and I were about to leave the house but we wanted something to take with us. I asked him what he was in the mood for, and he said, “Surprise me.” So this tea came out. I brewed it, added sugar and milk, and then let him smell it. He wanted to try and guess what it was. I was expecting him, based on the kind of tea it is, to mistake it for chai, but surprisingly, the pumpkin flavor and aroma was enough to distinguish it (which I found out immediately after by smelling it myself).

I really like the pumpkiny-ness of this one, even if it may be a little artificial. I didn’t get a big artificial vibe from the smell and the taste, so it didn’t bother me. It tasted like pumpkin, the stuff from the can that you get in the grocery store. Some people might prefer it to taste the way fresh pumpkin smells, but I actually am not as fond of the smell of fresh pumpkin. I am, however, fond of this tea, and I will probably bring it back out sometime in the near future… if I can get over whatever pregnancy funk is preventing me from wanting tea right now. This being my first pregnancy, I don’t know how long this nausea thing is supposed to last, but whenever it wants to quit is fine with me. xP

I bought this at the same time as Eggnoggin’, and the two blends are polar opposites. Pumpkin Spice is as bad as Eggnoggin’ is good. I don’t really know why I dislike it so much, but it’s horrible. I have 90% of the box left and I plan to bring it to work and leave it anonymously in the drink cabinet.

I had one lone bag of this blend left, and nothing else I had at work was appealing to me this afternoon, so I thought I’d finally use it up. I didn’t want to over-steep it so I might’ve overcompensated (I know this is a very weak-tasting blend regardless of the steeping time, in my experience), and there seems to be a very prominent smoky note today that I don’t remember from any previous tastings. I guess I’ll take smoky over nothing, so it doesn’t really detract, but I’m reminded again of why I gave the rest of this tea away.

I bought this tea because I am a pumpkin FANATIC. I wish it wasn’t such a seasonal flavor so that I could enjoy it all year round!
I’d been looking for a pumpkin spice tea, so when I saw this on the shelf, I pounced! It turned out to be very disappointing though. I found the tea to be rather bland – almost like I’m just drinking hot water? I added some Stevia and it STILL was pretty blah. I’m new to the whole tea world, so perhaps I’m not enough of an experienced tea drinker to appreciate it? Nevertheless, I wouldn’t buy it again!

Bubbles

Nice. Tastes just like the name implies, unlike some of their other teas. (I’m looking at YOU, apple cider!) It was a nice pick-me-up on a very chilly, grey day. I am glad someone sent this to me, so that I could try it, because I can’t ever find it locally. I don’t love it enough to buy six boxes from the website, (SIX?!? Really?!?) but it was nice. Added milk and a pinch of raw sugar.

Note: Don’t be thrown off by the smell right out of the packet. It is MUCH better after steeping.

My wife bought a box of this nonsense at Wal-Mart last night. She absolutely loves it, so she ran back and bought six more boxes. I tried it the way she likes it (no milk, one Splenda packet) and it was so terrible that my face screwed up into a black hole of disgust and I wanted to kick a kitten. Being stupid, I brewed another bag and tried it with milk and sugar and was so angry at myself that I drove to the SPCA to purchase a kitten but they were all out. The feeling passed. Never again will I drink this.

I went a little crazy for the seasonal tea flavors during my grocery shopping trip last night. I need to clear out space in the tea cabinet!

I really like this tea. The pumpkin flavor is actually stronger than its Stash counterpart. The spices are nice too. I steep this with 2 tea bags in about 10 oz water, then add plenty of sugar and a splash of soymilk.

Had this with heated Silk Nog — delicious! It had a little bit of roasted flavor that I don’t remember noticing before.

So very delicious with pumpkin spice soymilk! Double pumpkin spice bonus. :)

I’ve been relying on bags more heavily lately since I broke not one but two of my tea infusers! Well, one is still usable if I use it very carefully. :)

Somehow I just can’t get away from my spiced seasonal flavors in the morning. This, Stash’s holiday chai, or Twinings spiced apple chai are in heavy rotation. Only one mug’s worth left of this one! (cue Mr. Bill) Ohh noooo!

This one is becoming more of a regular than it has been in past years. I must resist the urge to stock up, though – that seem to be the kiss of death for my consumption of seasonal flavors. :)

Weak tea, weak pumpkin flavor. I don’t know if something was up with my tastebuds when I tried this, but I couldn’t really taste anything.

DSava

This is a nice fall tea…but you have to add sugar to it or it only smells good and just tastes very weak. I enjoy it at work and it makes my office smell nice.

Been a while since I’ve logged anything. Nothing really great about this tea, but it’s not terrible. I bet it would be good with a gingerbread creamer or something like that, but as is its pretty mild.

I’m kind of gutted about this tea, I was actually so excited to drink this but I couldn’t really taste much of the pumpkin. It tastes more bland than the smell. I think I’ll try this again but add a dash of milk.

Much Much better with milk and sugar.. I’d drink it like this again.

My sister loves this tea. I used to love it — perhaps grad school irreversibly injured my taste buds (I once breathed in the autoclave vapor of tubes that had HCl soaking in them and almost coughed my lungs out/went blind/died), perhaps this tea has changed. It’s seasonal, so you can only find it in the autumn here in the US, so my sister always stocks up. We’ve done this for at least four years or so. The first few years, this was super delicious and wonderful (with milk — not cream). However, I have a suspicion that the blend has changed over the years. I still like it, just not as much. I still use a lot of milk in there, though — even microwaving some milk with the tea bag in there is good.

Proper tea latte recipe:
1. take tag off of teabag and submerge in 8-12 oz. milk (in ceramic mug)
2. Microwave for 2-2.5 minutes
2.5 (opt.). remove teabag and place whisk into milk, turning whisk back and forth vigourously to produce froth.
3. Add sugar/honey/agave/sweetener, garnish with cinnamon powder/cinnamon stick

It’s nom. I like this moreso than normal water-and-milk tea.

I actually love this tea. It’s great with lots of milk and not too much sugar. I can definitely taste the pumpkin, and I don’t find the clove notes overwhelming at all. It’s a nice, light autumn flavor. I’m always jealous of my coffee-loving friends who get so excited about their Pumpkin Spice lattes, so I’m glad to have an affordable, delicious option of my own!

TeaParT

This tea is heavy on the clove. Although it includes pumpkin flakes, their flavor is hampered by the tea bag. I plan to clip it and use the infuser next time.

I have to say, I quite enjoy this one, being a sucker for all things pumpkiny. Namely, it smells like pumpkin more than it tastes like pumpkin, but it’s still got a nice spice to it. I drink it with milk. Let this one steep for longer than you think, it’s a touch weak at shorter times.

Not bad – maybe it’s just my love for all things Autumn, but this was an impulse buy and I’m glad I got it. Just the smell was enough, like all the awesome things about fall in one cup. The taste was very, very clovey; the pumpkin may have been subtle, but I didn’t really pick up on it anywhere. It was more like a Fall-themed potpurri with a strong clove overtone. Still would buy again.
