I bought this along with my Eggnogin’, mainly for completionist sake. I felt bad just getting one holiday tea! Leaving that poor little box of Ginger Snappish all alone… err, surrounded by dozens of other teas. Well, they’re only like $4 a box, so even if this was icky it’s not a waste of money. Yeah, this is how I justify my crazy tea buying habits.

I’ve had this tea 3 nights in a row now, so yea, I think it’s money well spent! I read a lot of the past reviews and I think they changed the formula—I definitely get a gingersnap vibe. The ginger is very strong with backing notes of cinnamon, giving it a tasty, bake-y feel. As close to gingersnap as you can get in a bagged tea, I think! And while the lemon is there it is VERY toned down, just the mildest hint of citrus which makes it seem pretty unique and special.

I was a bit worried that this would be similar to Twinnings’ Lemon & Ginger (my go-to sick day tea) but it’s really quite different and perfectly seasonal! One of my favorite night-time teas so far, plus the ease of making it is definitely a bonus.

Special thanks to Alphakitty for this one!
I haven’t seen this one on shelves where I live so I’m always up for a new-tea experience. I’ll try just about anything once! LOL :)

It’s mostly lemon and ginger but there is a little something extra in there, perhaps, it’s the licorice. This one isn’t bad for a bagged herbal tea. It’s not something I would buy but I’m super excited I got to try it. The colorful packaging is sort of neat, too!

This isn’t readily available in Southwest Missouri so I was tickled to death to receive a couple bags in a card from a dear friend with better connections. She knew that work stress and life stress were making me “snappish” so it just seemed to fit.

Not a gingerbread flavor; just a nice no-caffeine balance of lemon and ginger, not too heavy on either. Perfect for the night before Thanksgiving when all through the house were thunderstorm and tornado warnings and rain pelting the windows sideways.

And while sipping and contemplating, I gave thanks that despite a difficult year for my family, I am a rich woman. Just count the teas in my cupboard and the blessings all around me. Happy Thanksgiving to you all; may you have a surprising take-your-breath-away moment where you are absolutely blown away with joy and gratitude.

Last thing I need is more caffeine to make me more cranky and jittery than I already am, but it’s COLD. SNOW IN MAY IN SOUTH MISSOURI. And the blower motor on the central heat/AC chose last night to quit working.

So this works. Heavier on the ginger than the lemon. I still don’t think it tastes much like a cookie, but it’s still a favorite. Too bad it’s just a seasonal.

Quadruple series of rough workdays compounded by trying to interpret 9-month-old water damaged receipts for tax purposes compounded by news of already frail 81-year-old mother in hospital with severe abdominal pains just inconveniently far enough a flying evening run to check on the folks is neither practical nor sensible … I just need something gentle that needs no attention and calms my stomach that was too tense for dinner while I pray and wait for news.

The ginger is kind to the stomach; the lemon is just tingly enough to perk up the tastebuds a little, the fact that I can leave the bag in the cup without monitoring steeping times is a godsend.

Understanding husband hugged me as I was dunking the bag and the cup and said, “You need to ask your Steepsters what they recommend for amnesia-in-a-cup.’” Amnesia in a cup. Tonight that sounds just lovely :)

Funny, in the past I’ve talked the big talk about how much I love Bigelow’s Eggnogg’n holiday tea (and ’deed I do), but I noticed this evening that my box of Ginger Snappish is going a lot faster. Gentle, lemony, right amount of spice. Accentuates instead of tasting like somebody dumped the contents of their spice rack in the bag.

First cup of the season. Used a drip coffeemaker, had to improvise, and the lower temp and longer soak punched up the ginger half of the flavor significantly. Nice little cup of comfort after a 12-hour workday.

Husband is the primary grocery shopper at our house and tried a run to a different store a little closer to new house. Glad he did—I’ve had trouble finding Bigelow’s Christmas blends, and he knows how much I like them, so he snappished up a box to surprise me.

I still don’t think this one tastes anything like a cookie, but the lemon-ginger balance is just perfect, especially from underneath a soft blankie in a comfy chair on a clear evening when the whole block is gently lit with Christmas lights.

I also ginger-snapped up some of this on our Christmas run to the city. I now feel quite well-stocked for the winter!

vanilla_bookworm sent me a couple of bags of this…thanks!! I haven’t been able to find it around here yet, so I’m really excited.

When I opened the bags, my first thought was that there was a problem. It didn’t smell like gingerbread, it smelled like lemons! Sure enough, there it is: gingerbread with lemon. Lemon. Who would have thought to put lemon with gingerbread?

5 minutes later, and my kitchen smells like…lemons. Hmm…close-up sniff test yields a lemon bar/custard scent. Perhaps a bit of ginger, but it’s coming off more as a baked scent.

The primary taste for me is lemon, but there’s this background taste that’s very cookie-like. I’m getting just a hint of ginger…in fact, I’m not sure I’d have noticed the ginger if someone had just handed me a cup and said “here, drink this” (yes, I’ve had that happen; yes, I drank). It tastes very much like a baked lemon bar or cookie. And I quite like it.

Does it taste like gingersnaps? Nope. Is it tasty? Yes. Would I purchase it? Hells yeah, the instant I see it in the tea aisle.

This smells kinda like Reed’s ginger brew, or ginger candy. The flavour doesn’t really taste like cookies. It’s sweet, and gingery… like those candies. This would be really nice on a winter evening.

When i first saw this I thought, ginger and lemon……ok strange. However the tea is a delicious mix. Kinda reminds me of those ricolla herb and lemon cough drops. Very lemony with a slight herbal quality too it. Personally would have preferred more ginger. But overall not a bad tea.

I got this tea not expecting much, and I’m pleasantly surprised at how good it is. It’s not my favorite, but the ginger is bold and warm and the lemon has a nice soft tone.

My partner and I love this tea. Not a ginger snap cookie flavor, but a ginger and lemon flavor. I make it 1 bag in 1 cup with 1 packet NuStevia. It’s a favorite.

This is a really great tea —it’s better than many ginger teas as it’s a little lighter in flavor. The lemon notes also help. I happened to have a bit of gingerbread creamer at home (yes, I know, not something purists would consider putting in tea) and I put a splash in this tea and it was such a delightful cup, it was marvelous!

vanilla_bookworm

Mmmm… Gingery, lemony goodness. The perfect balance of the two flavors. One of my favorite teas, especially in the winter!

The ginger in this tea is a lot mellower than other ginger teas I’ve had, which is a welcome change. Also, the lemon adds the perfect touch. Very tasty!

I hesitated a bit before trying this tea because I am not a huge lemon fan. However now I cannot stop drinking it! The flavor is delicious and not overly ginger-fied so that is what truly makes it a wonderful tea. For some reason I’m thinking that it is helping get rid of my cold but I could just be imagining things.

When I smelled this before I brewed it, the ginger was so strong it made me sneeze. So I brewed it for just three minutes. I think next time I’ll put it in for longer; it’s good but it could be stronger. The lemon is almost an aftertaste, which I like.

Purty good, best when sweetened with brown sugar. :)
