Cantaloupe and cream just doesn’t seem a natural combination, but with all the rave reviews, I decided to try it anyway.

This is a really pretty tea to look at. The dry leaves are large and green. This must be fresher than other Bai Mu Dan I have had in the past. The Helichrysum flowers that are blended in look similar to baby’s breath (those little white flowers often included in red rose bouquets). The aroma is amazing-I smell mostly the cream (maybe the Helichrysum too-not sure how that smells).

The brewed aroma is more of the same-not sure how you get a vegan flavoring to smell so natural and creamy, but Stacy has done it. Even my gf, who never has any interest or comment about tea, actually commented on the pleasing scent.

The taste is fantastic-natural, creamy, and rich. I can’t taste as much cantaloupe as everybody else (maybe it’s my taste buds?), but I don’t even care because the cream flavoring is so excellent. Of course, this tea is very smooth and has zero bitterness. I’d like to try it iced. Just a great tea.

As a side note, I imagine that cream flavoring would go really well with say a root beer float tea or a cream soda tea. Delicious.

EDIT I made a second steep, let it cool, then put it in the freezer for a bit to ice it. I added just one teaspoon of sugar. Tastes great! I had to hold back from chugging it because I didn’t want caffeine so fast so late in the day. I need to make this earlier next time.

Last one for the night. Unless I get up at midnight to drink some more. Have you ever wanted to stay up all night drinking a whole bunch of tea? That’s me today. My very own tea fairy, Dexter3657 sent me a whole bunch of them (including this one) and since I’m having trouble deciding which to drink I just want to stay up and have a tea marathon. But that’s just crazy talk because I’d be craving stuff in 3-4 days.

Well, I’ve been eyeing this tea on the website for what seemed like forever and today I finally have it in my cup. Gorgeous, gorgeous tea. Dry leaf nose is bang on cantaloupe. Beautiful golden liquor. Flavour matches the dry leaf smell. I want to throw ice in here so it can be as refreshing as cantaloupe but I’m afraid to water it down so I’m second steeping overnight in the fridge. I had just enough for two small cups so I’m hoarding the next sample until I really can’t take the craving anymore.

Now I must go and visit butiki teas for my very own 10 lbs of this. Ok, I’m kidding, but only partly.

Sample sipdown! I’m trying to get through the box from Dexter3657 to make room for the Fusion tea arriving this week and the small Butiki order I placed yesterday.

I didn’t replace this because although it is very good the goal is to try as much Butiki tea as I can without going over budget.

I wouldn’t normally pick this as a morning tea but I need something low caffeine to give my liver a break from all the meds it has to process. Some of these also upset my stomach, I feel so very painfully full although I haven’t eaten since yesterday at 6. Uuugh! So anyway, I picked this tea. So, so delicate.

Going for a second steep as we speak. Just what I needed. Might not have medicinal properties but at least it Is gentle and very enjoyable.

And since we’re sharing pictures, this is what tea looks like a my house this morning:

My last cup! For now, at least, as I’m absolutely ordering more soon.

I ended up with none of those pretty Helichrysum flowers left in the final cup, since I’d been purposefully putting lots in previous cups. Regardless, this cup smelled just as overwhelmingly delicious as all the others. The cantaloupe tastes so real and sweet (as a note, I still haven’t had this one with sugar), the creaminess is perfect and complimentary, it even feels /filling/ to me. I guess that may be the dessert/ice-creamness to it – it reminds me of something edible and, as someone else mentioned, very thirst-quenching. This is definitely my favorite melon-related tea!

Thank you, Butiki, for the samples! Now this tea knows what it’s doing. The cantaloupe flavor couldn’t be more like cantaloupe! It is perfectly paired with this white tea. I’m not sure I can taste the white tea at all, unless it is helping the cantaloupe flavor. The cream is good, but I could use more of it. The dry leaves smell more like cream but the tea smells more like cantaloupe. I love these gorgeous little yellow flowers — I’ve never seen them before. I wonder if they help the flavor at all. The steep color was a lovely yellow after three-four minutes. This is a very refreshing, accurate, indulgent tea! I don’t know how the magic behind this one works!

This is a sweet & creamy diversion from all the serious ‘grown up’ teas I’ve been drinking today. It really is everything it promises to be! I sweetened it with some stevia, and it’s dessert in a cup.

Some other steepsterite & I were talking about cold brewing this tea, & can’t remember who is was, but I did it, & it is delicious!
And it’s a sipdown!

Yesterday my daughter Jess turned 30! That’s SO unbelievable to me!
Today her kids are off school, so they are hanging out with me while she goes shopping with my Kohl’s card.
This was Julianna’s tea selection, & she loves it! I’m having a small cup too, & it is tasty!

What a beautiful tea! I feel like this is something I have never noticed in another tea. It smelled fantastic to! I sniffed the little packet 4 times before I dumped it into my strainer.
It brewed up the colour of honey and smells like sweet, fresh melon. I’m not a melon fan (texture, not taste) so I felt compelled to try this tea. Cantaloupe is sooo good! It’s so fresh! Required no sweetener, no milk. A perfect tea.

Break at work (which today I am working from home) and I have been dreaming about this tea after hearing such good things about it.

Firstly the raw tea looks like something out of a garden, long green reeds with yellow flowers, yet it smells like melon. It’s as though these flowers are magical and come from Neverland.

For the purposes of my first test I have not added any sugar/sweetener.

Colour: Golden yellow
Smell: Exactly like melon

This tea does not disappoint, not only does it smell like melon but it tastes like melon and if I had not known the ingredients I would have thought that this tea is prepared by pouring hot water over a slice of melon. I cannot detect any bitterness or anything that tastes out of place and the more you drink the sweeter the melon becomes.

Another important aspect for me to mention is that the melon tastes natural and not synthetic in any way. I have been trying to taste everything in this tea but I can honestly only taste melon and my head cannot get past that. Melon is my second favourite all time food so for me this literally is heaven in a cup.

I’ve been away for a while, due to finals and moving into a new apartment. I’ve finally unpacked everything I need for tea making, and decided to try out this tea as my first cup in the new place. While it was steeping, the smell really reminded me of this candy I used to have as a kid. It was fruit flavored gum in little spheres. There was grape, strawberry, melon, and many others. They came in little individual boxes held together by plastic wrap.

The taste reminds me of the same. I almost feel like I’m getting honeydew more than cantaloupe, though it’s still delicious! It’s sweet, probably from the cream and the tea itself.

After letting it cool down to a warm, not hot, temperature, I’m noticing that it seems more juicy, like I just bit down into a piece of melon. I’m not sure what else to say about this lovely tea that hasn’t already been said, but I really enjoy it!

Wow!!!! Thanks Sil for sending this in a swap.

The tea is white tea leaves with small yellow flowers in it.

After brewing, I smelled the tea an exclaimed, to no one as I was alone in the house, “Wow! That smells good!”. I have been sitting and smelling it for the last 10 minutes. I didn’t even want to taste it becuase it smelled so good. It smells like juicy canteloupe. There is also a creamy scent. So far it definitely lives up to its name.

And it tastes just like canteloupe. Wow (again)! This is one good tea. I am going to cherish my sample of this one.

Thanks a bazillion Sil!

All I can say is, wow! This is so sweet, creamy, and cantaloupe-y, I am blown away! White teas are still a bit foreign to me, as I’ve found them to be too subtle in flavor, but this one totally changes all that. It tastes just like it smells and just like it is named. It is silky smooth, as I am finding all of Stacy’s creations to be. Like other reviewers, I’m detecting both cantaloupe and honeydew. There is a definite creaminess too. I added absolutely nothing to this tea. No added cream or sugar was needed.

This would probably be great iced, and would perhaps rival my mother-in-laws’ cantaloupe drink, which is like a cantaloupe lemonade (minus the lemon) with actual pieces of cantaloupe in it. This tea is extremely soothing and refreshing at the same time! Is that even possible?

I need to preface this note with a declaration: Butiki Teas are AWESOME. I ordered quite a few teas lately (taking advantage of the very generous Black Friday sale they had). I have not yet written notes for most of them, but I have tried almost all. What I can say is that they are works of art, each and every one. The look, the aroma, and the taste. Oh, the taste – the taste of the Tamarind Pop tea has even appeared in my dreams. So yeah, I’m mighty impressed with these teas.

Now this one is cantaloupe through and through. I am usually skeptical about flavored white tea. White tea is so gentle, it’s flavor very subtle. Flavoring often is either too light or overpowering the gentle white taste. This one is not like that. The taste of the Bai Mu Dan comes through and is enhanced by the juicy taste of the cantaloupe. The tastes really compliment each other without taking over.

and WOW, this is so very cantaloupe! I really don’t know how she does it. It smells like cantaloupe and it tastes like liquid cantaloupe. There is also a faint creaminess about it, making it a bit softer, rounding out the edges on the fruitiness.

Amazing tea! Honestly, I’d be happy to just sit and savor the scent coming out of my cup, but it tastes even better than it smells.

There are many good flavored teas that I enjoy, but some just seem to be above them all. This is one of them.

This is really quite an interesting tea, thank you to Sandy for sending me a sample of this.

It is somewhat shocking how much this tastes like cantaloupe. Cantaloupe with an a (thankfully Steepster spellchecks!). I taste the cantaloupe first, followed by a bit of a dry peppery taste that must be the white tea. I’m not getting the cream so much, but I’m noticing most people did a 3+ steep on this one, and we only did a 2. I don’t know if I’m missing it or not. The tea doesn’t necessarily ‘need’ it.

Another quality, flavorful tea from Butiki. I’m glad to have had a chance to try them!

I’ve had so much of this tea and haven’t written a tasting note yet! The scent is beautiful, buttery and sweet. Plus, melon teas have a special place in my heart.

Sipping, this is a very mellow blend. I was expecting something a bit stronger, but it’s still pleasant. The melon is subtle and is dominated by the rather buttery white tea. I like this tea base because it lends a bit of a bitter melon rind flavor to the end of the sip. It feels very full and thick as well. Very delicious!

I only wish that this tea could be with even MORE of that juicy melon flavor. Yes, it’s yummy, but I want more delicious melon!

This may be the best tea I have ever tried! I love cantaloupe and this tastes just like juicy cantaloupe, while still tasting the delicious and delicate white tea base. This is amazing. This will soon be a staple tea in my cupboard. Soooooo good!

I’ve been saving my sample of this award-winning organic Bai Mu Dan for the right evening. As I pour this pale gold tea, it’s delightful fragrance has me in anticipation. I almost think I catch a faint whiff of brown sugar. The taste is smooth, creamy and natural.Yummy, this is truly reminiscent of fresh cantaloupe from summertime. The second steep is equally flavorful. A wonderful blend that with a little sweetener is perfect for a dessert tea, but hubby likes it straight too.

First off I’d like to thank Stacy for sending me this sample!

The first thing I noticed about this tea was how beautiful the leaves/blossoms are, followed by a floral sweetness in the aroma. After steeping, the aroma was green with a lingering creamy sweetness to it.

Tasting this tea, it was so light and delicate. Floral and juicy. Perfect for a hot summer’s afternoon. I added just the tiniest touch of sweetener to my cup and the flavors danced in my mouth. I can definitely see why this tea is a popular one at Butiki!

OMGsrsly

Brewed as per specs.

Pretty good. Melons aren’t my favourite things, but I felt a need to try this tea (and the Watermelon one!). The flavour is nice and delicate and compliments the white tea nicely. And this is actually a good white tea. Most of them I haven’t cared for.

So, not something I’d ever buy again, but worth it for the novelty factor.

Still don’t like melon.

I didn’t care for this one hot. I drank it and it was fine, but definitely not for me. Cold, however, YUM. It has a very authentic cantaloupe taste, and the creaminess is absolutely perfect. I really think this tea shines cold, it’s refreshing and slightly sweet and quite lovely.

I am looking forward to drinking the jars I have in the fridge.

I had no fruit with my lunch today so I figured I could have this tea instead and call it even. Ah, if only it worked like that!

So far I’ve found that Butiki’s teas taste so natural; there’s no trace of anything artificial or chemical tasting whatsoever. This was no exception, as the cantaloupe tasted so fresh and authentic. The creaminess comes through in the mouthfeel and adds richness to the smooth white tea base. This was so refreshing and delicious. It’s definitely going to be a spring/summer staple.
