One time I made a Cantaloupe smoothie with a fresh cantaloupe half and some coconut milk. This tasted almost exactly the same. One of the best teas I’ve ever tasted. I didn’t need to add any sweetener (tossed in some coconut milk) and it was sweet and perfect and light and delicious. Wish I had more than just a 1 cup sample pouch :(

A.MA.ZING. Okay, I definitely must get some of this for myself. Thanks cavocorax, for once again being a horrible person ;P :P :P

Seriously, this is so good! So light and fresh and tasty and simple and YUM.

Flavourful resteep! It seems like hot cantaloupe should be Wrong, but it definitely isn’t.

I opened up this cute little Butiki bag and this heavenly aroma of sweet cantaloupe made me smile and keep sniffing!
I peeked into the bag and saw a lovely, pale yellow spray of flowers and had to get a better look. I had the brief image of myself peering into the bag and seeing a whole vine of ripened cantaloupes (you know Hermione’s bag of holding on Harry Potter? I was sure this Butiki tea bag had the same spell). I measured out my tea for my mug and placed it on a little saucer to admire. The dried tea is beautiful with the tiny yellow flowers and long curled white tea leaves.
While the tea was steeping I looked into the tea bag again for a garden of cantaloupes. The smell was exactly like slicing into a fresh cantaloupe, no artificial off smell at all. The aroma had a creaminess too it as well but I couldn’t say it was vanilla or milky but I am new at discovering the nuances of tea.
My fist sip I tasted the cantaloupe with a bit of cucumber and a nice floral sweetness, most likely from the flower sprays and the Baui Mu Dan. This is a mug of paradise if I ever tasted one. The more I sipped the more melon and creaminess I tasted. The cucumber layer disappeared.
I took my tea leaves and put them in a jar for an overnight cold brew. I can’t wait to try it tomorrow.

I drank this as a cold brew and didn’t enjoy it near as much as hot. Weird, I would have thought opposite due to the melon.

Thanks to T.C. for sharing!

So creamy, soooooooo melony, and incredibly delicious. The flavor is so natural, it tastes like I’m biting into a ripe cantaloupe. I immediately ordered some (plus a few others) from Butiki because I loved it that much.

This tea resteeps very well! The first steep was oh-so-creamy, and successive steeps have a stronger cantaloupe presence. I enjoyed five steeps, adding one minute to the steeping time each time. Due to personal preference, I generally steep white and green teas for less time than suggested, which is why I only steeped this for two minutes the first time around.

This tea is a must try for all cantaloupe lovers!

The weather is finally starting to warm up a little around here, so I’ve been experimenting more with iced teas. Last night I combined the first two steeps (3:30 at 180F) in a stainless steel water bottle, let it cool down for about an hour, and then popped it into the fridge overnight.

I enjoyed this iced quite a bit, very smooth and refreshing. The juicy cantaloupe flavor I love so much in the hot version was a bit muted. Next time I will add a squeeze of honey before cooling it down. I think some sweetness will coax the cantaloupe flavor out from hiding.

To be fair, this tea tastes exactly like a cantaloupe. There are some teas that smell strongly of a flavor, but don’t always taste as strong. This one does. However, I didn’t like it. I love cantaloupe and I love tea. The problem is that I prefer my cantaloupe cold and my tea hot. Also, this is the third tea I have tried with a “cream” flavor and I think I can safely say that I’m not a fan of the cream flavored teas.

So this is Sample #3 from Chuckie, as you can see I am having an uneventful day of work that has been pretty much compromised of doing some paperwork and drinking lots of tea, relaxing but slightly boring, so why not spice things up by trying a bunch of new teas.

This is the first tea I have had from Butiki and I must say wow, I could tell from the dry aroma that this was going to be a flavorful tea, and it certainly is. Dry it has an amazingly creamy cantaloupe smell very pronounced by not artificial or overpowering.

Steeped the aroma of the tea is cut back slightly, but in all honesty it is a very slight amount. It is an extremely clear brew with a slight golden color to it. It has an amazing cantaloupe smell to it that reminds me of a brunch buffet or something with a huge platter of fruits.

I certainly approve of this tea, I look forward to trying some of their other blends. For me this would be a great tea to have with breakfast, and as with the previous Teavana tea I reviewed it would probably be pretty good iced.

Edit: Had to increase my rating on this, tasted great warm. Got caught up doing some work and it cooled off and I think it tastes even better! scored 85, totally raising it to 100. Probably be one of the first I order from Butiki.

Yet another awesome sample from Will Work For Tea :)

This one smells divine. Oh so creamy and cantaloupe-y. Definitely recommend!

Well this is the last of my little stash of Cantaloupe & Cream until my Butiki order gets here. Ahh!

This tea is so delicious, just perfection :) I’m so excited to try all the new ones I’ve ordered, especially Watermelon Xylophone.

Update March 14/13: Now that I have a fresh stash of this lovely I brewed some up yesterday for my drive and it was divine. No surprise there. I put those leaves to cold-brew overnight and the result is very tasty and refreshing. Overall, I think I prefer it hot but I wouldn’t say no to a chilled cup on a hot day.

Him: “When you make tea, could you make me a surprise tea from your collection?”
Me: “What makes you think I’m having tea?”
Him: “Let’s be real. Don’t act like you won’t have at least 3 more cups tonight.”

This one’s delicious. Light, oh so smooth, and cantaloupe-y. I may have to place on order for Butiki Teas now! Has anyone tried Watermelon Xylophone? I’m thinking I may have to order that one as well.

Cantaloupe is my favorite fruit. So I had huge expectations for this tea. Let me just say, it did nit disappoint. The dry tea smelled exactly like cantaloupe. I was hoping this would taste strongly if melon & not just a hint of it. This is delicious. It’s got a terrific flavor. The creaminess is amazing. This will be forever in my permanent stash. Stacy, this is perfection!

This is such an interesting and even unusual tea. I have never tried anything quite like this.
It very light, sparkly, sweet and creamy and tastes exactly like cantaloupe. I was thinking of making this into a tea popsicle when it gets warmer.

Sakura recipes are really cool and ceramic container with hand-drawn cherry blossom branches would be amazing gift with some Sakura Sencha in it of course.

OK I’m going to admit it. I’m not a huge white tea fan, but I do love cantaloupe. I ordered this because of all the great ratings here and I don’t regret it. This may change my opinion of white teas. It’s really good. Definitely cantaloupe, delicate white tea in the back ground. I must have gotten the temp correct, I don’t have any bitter or astringency. I did add more rock sugar than I think a delicate fruit tea should need, but the sugar really made the flavors pop. Thumbs up.

I’m super excited to try this tea that I got in a swap with Stephanie. The dry tea smelled slightly cantaloupy but I didn’t take too much time to sniff before I eagerly dumped it in my steeper. While brewing it smells like super sweet cantaloupe, almost candy like. Wow, my first few sips taste like cantaloupe juice watered down just slightly, then gets creamy at the end. I could enjoy this without sugar, but I only have one cups worth and am curious to see how sweetener will add to this. Hmmm, I’m finding that sugar kind of kills the initial taste, but adds to the end and aftertaste. I’m not tasting the tea base at all which in my book translates to well executed flavors. On my second steeping I got sidetracked and left it steeping for quite a while, but this tea took a beating and still tasted good. After the brutal second steep, I got a third weak steep out of it which was more reminiscent of the flavors that had been. I can easily see why this tea won an award and it’s going on my shopping list right now!

I also got this one in my flavored sample pack. This one was an unexpected delight! I don’t go out of my way to eat actual cantaloupes, but when I sweetened this one with stevia, it tastes like fresh cantaloupe in liquid form. I will be purchasing more of this one!

This is a very refreshing tea. The cantaloupe is assertive without being overpowering. The cream comes in at the back end of the tasting and is a nice complement to the cantaloupe. I see this as a nice afternoon pick me up or a lazy summer morning first brew. Anyway, it’s hard to go wrong with this one.

Alright even though white tea has some caffeine in it, I figured it has the least of all the new teas I got and I couldn’t wait to try something :)
So delicious!!! No wonder why everyone raves about it!
Amazing cantaloupe smell and taste which is not overpowering with just the right amount of creaminess! A really nice flavoured white tea mix. What else can I say? Everyone else has said it already…and I better get dinner made!
Oh and I brewed it according to the instructions approx 180F water for 3 1/2 mins.

This is ridiculously delicious, and I’m not normally as into whites or greens as strong black teas. The dry leaves smell very strongly of melon, and it’s wonderful; I just wanted to hover at the kitchen counter smelling them, ha. As a visual bonus, the flowers in the blend are really beautiful and vibrant. Brewed I actually taste honeydew melon as much as cantaloupe—and for me that is brilliant news, because I vastly prefer honeydew! It has that flowery quality good ripe melons have, but it’s also still refreshing and not too too sweet, like a good honeydew. Good and refreshing without, but the tiniest pinch of sugar—just a few granules!—makes it really sing; you get the full heady “ripe fruit” experience. The silky creamy mouthfeel comes in at the end, which is a wonderful surprise. It resteeps OK, not amazing but not bad either (not as good as the first go-round, but drinkable). It’s also strangely delicious cold, which makes me wonder about iced tea possibilities this summer (would be great because melon cocktails would be lovely but I dislike all of the melon liqueurs currently on the market for tasting too sweet and fake).

I love this; I’m pretty certain it is now my favorite, go-to white. Awesome afternoon/pre-dinner tea. Even my husband, who is not a tea drinker, likes it—he stole my last cup from me when he thought he’d just give it a taste out of curiosity, ha.

Here we are. The tea I’ve been dreaming about trying for the first time for the past week and a half. Now that it’s here, ready to be tasted, I’m almost scared that I hyped it up in my head to unrealistic expectations.

The tea leaves are beautiful. So beautiful, I almost want to take a picture. Or even more silly, find some sort of glass container and dump them in and make them a decoration. But the smell is far too appealing to waste them like that.

… And … oh … my … word. This is cantaloupe. I’m almost confused. My taste buds are telling me, “This is not tea. This is a cantaloupe. Juicy sweet cantaloupe. FRUIT.” But my brain argues back “No, no, this is tea. Granted, delicious tea, but tea nonetheless.”

“Cantaloupe!”

“Tea!”

“Cantaloupe!”

TEA. Just take a look if you don’t believe me!”

Okay, no idea where that came from. Hopefully my lapse into crazy town will be enough to convince you that this is truly a magical cup. Thankyou so much Stacy, it’s so delicious. Please never discontinue this tea. Ever.

EDIT: Hang onto those leaves. I’m on the second infusion now, and the cantaloupe flavor has become more prominent. This cup’s even MORE delicious than the first! :D

Mmm, after that little rooibos misadventure this is really hitting the spot. So much for deciding to have no more caffeine for the day, heh

I remember the first time I drank this, while I loved it, I found I didn’t understand why it was called ‘cream’ since I wasn’t picking up on it, but I sure am noticing it now! It’s SO creamy, that I can’t believe I didn’t notice it before. To the point that I just want to guzzle its comfortingness instead of calmly enjoying like the image of white tea I have in my mind. :) Not that that’s a bad thing of course.

Yummy:)! I had a sample of this I’d been saving for the right moment. That was such an awesome cup of tea. I think I’m going to have to splurge for a couple of ounces. I would love to brew up some ice tea with it…Going for the 2nd steep now.

Stacy from Butiki nicely added this one as a sample in my recent order, and I’m very excited to try it out!
First off, the dry smell. It smells like a buttery cream, with a nice hint of fresh cantaloupe in it. Yum!
Once brewed, the cantaloupe smell increased, with the cream/butter scent now occupying the background. Smells wonderful
Now for the best part!
Oh my STARS! The taste…wow. The cantaloupe is the first taste I’m getting, followed by a buttery/milky taste. Neither of these is overpowering in the least, and they mesh together in a way I never would’ve thought they could. The cantaloupe is probably the closest to the real thing I have ever tasted in tea form, and it’s light and fresh. The “cream” portion of the tea is just as wonderful, and makes the mouthfeel on this one super amazing; nice and smooth. Not cloying in the least, this may be one to keep in mind for future orders.
Note:
I didn’t add sugar this time around, and for me I don’t think it really needs it. I like the flavor profile just where it is. Thumbs up, Stacy!

My first ever tea review.. let’s see how this goes.

This tea is definitely beautiful to look at and has a luxurious fragrance. It definitely builds anticipation coming out of the bag. I think I used about the recommended proportions — 1.5 tsp per 250 ml of water.. but I might have added a little extra to make sure I didn’t miss any of the flavour.

The taste of this tea.. wow.. the first word that comes to mind is juicy! I didn’t know tea could taste like this! Definitely a distinct melon note, and a soft sweet creaminess. It leaves my mouth watering and my mind drifting to eating muskmelon from the farmer’s market in August.

Second steep has subtler flavours. I may have lost the cream note but melon is still present.

Overall, very excited by this tea! Glad I ordered a full ounce :)
