From Butiki Teas

Creamy Eggnog is part of our holiday series that encompasses a number of holidays from different religions. Many people might not think of eggnog as their number one choice for a Christmas flavor but Eggnog is particularly important in my family’s tradition of celebrating Christmas. Eggnog always marked the beginning of the Christmas season and was the last thing we would drink before we would try to go to sleep Christmas Eve. As a child, getting any sleep Christmas Eve would have been a miracle. There was always so much excitement and anticipation building. Creamy Eggnog pairs our buttery Organic Huangshan Mao Feng with a rich creamy eggnog flavor. The tea and flavor work well with each other and neither overshadows the other. This tea is sweet with a heavy cream and eggy quality. Add a little brown crystal sugar and the tea becomes extremely creamy, rich, and very much like eggnog. Some vanilla notes become pronounced and so do the egg notes. We added safflower for a touch of red for a festive Christmas colored tea.

Ingredients: Organic Chinese Tea, Safflower, Organic Natural Flavoring

My first Butiki tea and I am in love with this tea!! I love eggnog and this tastes nearly just like it but without the spices. Second steep isn’t as strong as the first but still very delicious, I even did a third and the eggy vanilla creaminess was subtle but still there and enjoyable enough for me. Definitely recommend and will have to order more YUM YUM YUMM

So in my last note I said I would steep this for longer to see if more eggnog flavor would come out, but then it turned out that I had just a little extra leaf, so I added the rest of my sample to the cup and kept my parameters the same.

It turned out well! It was way creamier than last time, and I did get some eggnog flavor from it, although it is a far cry from actual eggnog. Which would be weird hot anyway, so I’m ok with that. This is still primarily a nice creamy green tea rather than something that shouts holidays at me. I enjoyed trying this one out!

I can not believe how buttery this tea is! I get the green base, but there is such a nice vanilla and creamy flavour on top of it. I only ordered a sample of this last time, but I think I tossed some into my Butiki order yesterday, at least I hope I did! I would like to play with this a little more and see what flavours I can tease out a bit more. I never sweeten my greens, but I think this one might actually benefit from just a bit of sugar. I enjoyed this tea and I look forward to seeing what playing around with it will do for me.

Backlog from a couple of days ago.. been a busy week, but good.

I pulled this out of my sample stash thinking I wanted something green.. weird for me, but glad for it as I’ve been hoping to come around more to them.

This one I’ve had before… trying to stretch the sample MissB sent me because this one is smooth creamy vanilla goodness. It will likely go on my shopping list when I finally place an order from Butiki :) Again I got a nice creamy vanilla cup where the green tea base serves to compliment the flavors and there are no grassy vegetal notes for me… just smooth and lite. Bumping up my rating a bit because I just enjoyed it so much this time. Yum!

Thanks CelebriTEA for adding this on in the box. I had this a while back, but I remember not being in the correct frame of mind. I had just finished the real eggnog season and one of the things that I love about eggnog is the spice. This tea doesn’t have that, but it is incredibly creamy, smooth and sweet. I am really really enjoying this tonight. It is much better when I know what to expect. I will add it to the low caffeine wish list!

This one is definitely on the list for my imminent Butiki order! Sounds amazing.

I think you will really enjoy it. It is not my favorite Butiki tea, but I am partial to the blacks. I joke that I will need to take out a loan for my next Butiki order:)

I tend to like creamy and sweet things so I can’t imagine not loving it… Still waiting on that rumored July sale! :D

You mean the rumored July 25th Birthday sale. Well, it is certainly a rumor. :D

Am I crazy or something? The first thing I smelled in this was coconut, but apparently no one else got that from this tea. Casey has a cold. Maybe I am getting sick too? I’m tempted to add some nutmeg to this…Now to see if I have any.

You are not alone;) I had a cup of Silk Dragon by the Tea Merchant and was pretty sure it’s vanilla coconut oolong.

Judging by the name and description I really thought that I would LOVE this tea but it just wasn’t for me. I found it to be very weak in flavor. I had to really steep a lot of leaves before I could taste anything. So if you like very subtle teas this may be for you!
