From Butiki Teas

Our Pumpkin Milkshake pairs our Castleton Moonlight Darjeeling oolong with pumpkin, vanilla, and cream flavors. Pumpkin and vanilla notes dominate our Pumpkin Milkshake; however, there is a sweet creaminess present that lingers. Some caramel notes can also be detected. We highly recommend adding some brown crystal sugar to transform this tea into a rich, creamy, decadent, vanilla and pumpkin desert treat.

Ingredients: Castleton Moonlight Darjeeling, Pumpkin Flakes (vegan), Organic Lotus Stamens, Organic Pure Ground Vanilla Beans (no fillers), Organic Natural Flavors (vegan)

Recommended Brew Time: 4 minutes
Recommended Amount: 2 teaspoons of tea for 8oz of water
Recommended Temperature: 180 F

When I saw this tea pop up on Butiki’s website… well, let’s just say my wallet is a little more empty! Pumpkin + creamy milkshake sound so perfect together. It’s a dreamy, wonderful match. When I opened the pouch, I was surprised to be smelling spices — a bit like cinnamon gum. I was expecting more vanilla and pumpkin instead.

The spices are a little more toned down once water has been added, but I taste cinnamon first. The mouthfeel is quite creamy which is nice, but I’m not tasting a whole lot of pumpkin. What’s interesting is that there is just a tiny bit of something creamy at the tail end of the sip, but I wouldn’t have noticed it had I not been looking. I suppose the creaminess paired with the spices gives the illusion of pumpkin, but I want more — pumpkin, vanilla, milk – all frothed up in a blender! Even with some added sugar, this tea just doesn’t have the flavor I want. Really bummed as I thought that this would be my favorite fall tea!

I have the 2.0 version of this (with the rolling thunder oolong).

I was distracted while preparing this tea and I didn’t use the recommended 170F water. Oh well. It still smelled delicious! I went all out and ate Keebler rainbow cookies with it and got their crumbs all in the tea. . .hey its my birthday!, I’ll do what I want :D (being healthy is not on my list of things to do ;) )

despite the too-hot water and the Keebler additions, this is an enjoyable cup of tea. It’s a little tiny bit bitter, which Im sure is the water’s fault. I’ll do it right next time, I promise. I’ll be finishing this bag off myself, but I think that the Pumpkin Creme Brulee will be my prefered choice next time I order. I like the spiciness of it more than the creaminess of this one, but it’s a close competition.

Another tea I shouldn’t be drinking while I’m sick, as I am only able to detect some spices, the same way I was with the Carrot Cake tea, but I think that this one has a bit of a thicker mouthfeel to it. But right now my tongue is all coated and my sense of taste is greatly reduced…

I can only imagine how delightful this will be when I’m better. Trying not to drink all my Butiki while I’m sick, but…it calls to me. So I obey every now and again, and logically resist the urge the rest of the time.

I love pumpkin! This tea is delicious, though it does taste a lot like pumpkin creme brulee to me. But with less spice and more creaminess. They are both just so good, but I think I prefer the black base to the oolong in this. I will probably order this anyway along with the pumpkin creme brulee, you can’t have too many pumpkin teas!

My order is in, and naturally, this is the first tea I’m trying (I was super tempted by the carrot cake one, though). I am on a never ending quest to find the perfect pumpkin tea, so I just couldn’t wait to drink this! This is also the first pumpkin flavored oolong I have ever seen, which I find really exciting!

It smells so good; it has a very true pumpkin scent, with hints of vanilla.

OMG IT TASTES AMAZING! The pumpkin is there, and it is not overpowered by other flavors. This is a huge problem I am always having with pumpkin flavored things. Too much spice, not enough pumpkin, etc. This pumpkin taste is paired very nicely with vanilla, and what is especially nice is that there isn’t any spice to this; just creamy notes of caramel and vanilla.

The darjeeling oolong is just a perfect match for this too. It is kind of toasty and chocolatey? gingery? Idk I am having a hard time pinpointing/describing what I am tasting, but it is seriously incredible!

You guys, I think I finally found my perfect pumpkin tea!

Despite the absence of cinnamon in the actual blend, this tea has a sweet spiciness to it, even reminiscent of ginger, just based on the way it lingers on the palate. Those who do not agree with ginger, don’t be turned off though! I’m not sure it’s even ginger I’m tasting… maybe nutmeg…but I digress.

Back to the tea!
The creamy pumpkin notes blend effortlessly with its oolong base. It’s a perfect autumn blend: spicy pumpkin, drizzled caramel notes, a smooth dash of vanilla, and topped with warm cream.

pairs perfectly with a thick sweater and a brisk autumn morning.

this tea re-steeps rather well, so go make a pot or two!

This is hands down my favorite Oolong blend. It’s so smooth and full of rich flavors that I can’t get enough of it. Pairing pumpkin with both vanilla and Castleton Moonlight Darjeeling oolong was a marvelous move. All of the flavors play off of one another so much so that even after several cups I am discovering new layers within this delicious tea. This is an absolute must have!

I prepared this as instructed. 2 tsp per 8oz of water. I first sipped it without any sugar and it was so/so for me. (I am drinking this before bed and I tend to like sweet or light teas before bed). I added a little bit of sugar and wow! I like. I don’t usually add sugar to tea, but man for this one it brings out quite a bit of flavor. It feels like fall in my mouth.

I went through one ounce of this in less than a week. I will definitely be buying this again. The more I drank, the more I loved this tea.

I have t admit I’m not too big on pumpkin flavor. However when I saw Lotus Stamens, Organic Pure Ground Vanilla Beans among the ingredients I was sold.

I can taste the pumpkin (not too much), cinnamon and vanilla. The darjeeling base seems perfect for the blend. Lovely, lovely seasonal blend.

Was exited to see my designs for Adagio Teas (wellness teas and kid friendly teas) finally in the store. My favorite design: “Monster Brew”. Monsters are so much cooler than princesses :)
