I’ve had a really weird relationship with this tea. I loved it for a while. And then I didn’t care for it al all, and now I’m back to thinking it’s okay.

I don’t necessarily care for the smell. It smells a bit like boozy rooibos, which isn’t all that attractive. It captures the coffee and dark cocoa (and rum) notes of tiramisu really well though, and has a nice creamy mouthfeel. The taste of rooibos tends to creep into each sip, but it never seems to get too cedar chippy. The aftertaste is rooibos, cocoa, and cream.

While I enjoy this one when I drink it, I won’t necessarily be sad when it’s finally sipped down.

I’ve been working on building my caffeine free collection. It’s still puny compared to everything else, but we are getting somewhere. Anywho, I got a sample of this to try before committing. It’s a nice dessert tea. Smells very sweet and somehow coffee-ish. It’s got something harsh. May be a simulation of alcohol? It tasted rich and toffee. The medicinal rooibos flavor is strong but I’m getting used to it.
An enjoyable cup after dinner. :)

Edit: I’m drinking what’s left from the pot this morning. Cold, it is much more like tiramisu. It’s much more enjoyable, creamy and sweet. I suspect that this is because the strong rooibos flavor has decreased now that the brew is cool.

Made a half of a pitcher of this to keep in the fridge as it’s currently 102º outside. Oh and that’s not counting what the humidity makes it feel like! Gross…

Anyway, I really like traditional Italian dessert. The coffee and cream in it is so rich that I can only occasionally enjoy it. So I thought this would be a lovely way to have my dessert but without the crazy fullness that happens after I indulge.

Steeped 2 cups of water with 5 tsp. of tisane for well over 10 minutes. I couldn’t wait until it cooled down, so I poured a little of it over a couple ice cubes, some whole milk (no calories spared here!) and some simple syrup. This is DELICIOUS – Definitely a wonderful way to have this! I taste coffee and cocoa and if it wasn’t already in there, the milk takes the creaminess over the top!

I’ll probably be keeping this on hand to have latte-style!

It’s getting hot here too, but oddly it’s not humid at all and it’s really freaking me out. Stay cool!

I picked up some more of this during BrewTEAlly Sweet‘s stash sale. So, so tasty. I still find that it tastes just like tiramisu. Definitely one to be kept in regular rotation. I also just learned that it’s fantastic iced. It tastes like a latte, without the calories. Good enough to make me rethink my position on teas that taste like coffee.

So I’m not entirely sure that this is what I had last night. It wasn’t labeled but I did give some to my mom, which is labeled & looks like this tea.
I’m also pretty sure I took it from the traveling tea box the last time around.

It smelt creamy & coffee like. However once steeped it was light on flavour & smell. Probably a result of age & storing conditions.
I think that if this were fresh it would be quite good.
So not going to give it a rating due to that.

A tea from a mystery swap, Thanks Shelley_Lorraine! This tea smells really good, and I definitely got the tiramisu type taste. But I somehow tasted a little maple? The rooibos taste is pretty strong in this one but it kind matches well with the flavoring I think but this isn’t a tea I’d like to have a lot of. Good to try though definitely, a little treat :)

I got a bag of this tea some time ago because one of my husband’s favorite desserts is Tiramisu. Tiramisu is a take it or leave it kind of dessert to me, so I wasn’t in any particular hurry to try this tea myself, but I finally did today.

It doesn’t taste a thing like tiramisu to me. All the added flavoring and candy bits serve only to mute the flavor of the rooibos, leaving it flat and blah. The flavors themselves hardly stand out at all.

Wow, this is good. Its weird. Love that it does have coffee notes to it. Just not sure I’m digging the way this tea smells, but very very good. Comforting. A very comforting blend. I’m not pickinig up the white cocoa, but I’m getting the rest of the flavors. Yum.
