Orange Creamsicle

Rooibos Tea by Caraway Tea Company

A sweet cup, with notes of orange creamsicle ice cream this Rooibos tea is delectable. With the fragrance of tangy oranges blended with creamy vanilla, it has quickly become a popular favorite.

I tasted the Orange Vanilla Cream Black tea from Caraway and it was DELICIOUS, so I had high hopes for this tea. I was hoping for a light, creamy, vanilla-ish tea that would soothe me while simultaneously remind me of those orange creamsicle pops for which it was named…

Unfortunately, no such luck. While this tea wasn’t BAD, it definitely does not live up to its name. Even with some vanilla soymilk helping it along, it was flat and really had no depth of flavor. I will drink it, but I won’t crave it, that’s for sure!

This is from my big “I didn’t really need tea but there was a sale, so it’s okay” order from Carraway Tea.

This tea smells DELICIOUS. Very much like an orange creamsicle. However, when I went to brew it, I wasn’t getting much flavors of anything. Barely any orange flavor and certainly not enough cream flavor. I wonder if I should use more rooibos next time for a more potent flavor. After such a wonderful smell, I’m a little disappointed :(

I am probably just going to toss all the teas I have from this company. They are so terrible. They are so overly flavored that it’s absolutely disgusting. Every single one I have tried has been so artificial. This wouldn’t be bad if it didn’t taste like that. I even purposely steeped this short to not get the taste of rooibos, and I had hoped maybe it would stave off that problem at the same time, but it did not.

And I think there’s still two I haven’t tried. Ughhhh.

I decided to give it a shot cold and it was even worse. Another one to toss. Unless someone actually wants this? I can’t imagine.

I made this iced, to me an Orange Creamsicle can only be iced.
The dry notes smell just like an orange creamsicle, so potent & sweet. Once steeped it still smells like this, the rooibos starts to come out though. I think by now we know I don’t like rooibos teas, but I had to try this.
There is only the slightest hint of orange creamsicle in it, thankfully though the rooibos isn’t strong & I will be able to finish the pitcher of it.
