Tea & Cookies

Black Tea by Caraway Tea Company

You’ll love how the sweet apple, scent of juicy oranges, and delicate cream sooth the spicy bits of cinnamon, coriander, cardamom, cloves and hot fruity pepper. Add a little milk and sugar and you’ll enjoy a special treat.

Ingredients:
black tea, apple pieces, cinnamon bits, coriander, flavouring, cardamom pods, orange slices, pink pepper, cloves.

I think it was Azzrian who sent me this! Thanks so much!

LOVE the large HUNKS of Orange in here!
The Spice is quite nice – aroma-wise as well as the added color from the red peppercorns! I can also smell the sweet apples!

This infuses to a VERY light brown color due to the little bit of black tea base in the loose leaf mix I have in my steep-strainer.

The taste is delightful tho…all of the ingredients work well with each other – nothing is over done or too loud. The Orange, Apple, and spices are gentle and purposeful and comforting and warm. The black tea base is mellow and seems to work in unison with the other flavors as well.

The name of this tea is quite misleading, I thought it was cookie flavored but no, you are supposed to have it WITH cookies! In fact this tea is pretty far from cookie flavored, it’s a nice citrusy spiced blend that I am trying out thanks to Azzrian.

The smell is lovely, like orange and clove. It’s a beautiful blend too, large chunks of dried orange along with cardamon and bright red peppercorns. It’s very festive, I feel like I’m at a tea party! It’s funny that this is a spiced tea but it tastes nothing like chai to me, makes me wonder what exactly makes a chai a chai. After all the 3 “key” chai ingredients, ginger cinnamon and cardamom, aren’t found in every chai blend. One of them is here, with cloves and pepper which are often in chai, but it’s definitely not a chai at all!

There’s some fruity sweetness, soft and not overpowering, and the citrus is bright and refreshing against the heavy spice. Mm, delicious!

Love the smell of the dry notes. Perfectly spicey with a hint of citrus.
Once steeped it keeps the smell, however the scent doesn’t quite carry through to the taste. It’s not as spicy as I would like.
About half my cup cooled to slightly more than room temperature & there was my spice. WOW. So good. Perfect amount of spices with a black tea taste lingering & a hint of citrus. This may just be one of my new fav spiced teas!
