Raspberry Zinger

Fruit Herbal Blend by Celestial Seasonings

The distinctive sweet-tart flavor and enticing aroma of American-grown raspberries are the perfect complement for fruity Thai hibiscus and tart and tangy Chinese hibiscus in this robust herbal blend. Soothing when served warm, this blend is satisfying and refreshing when served as iced tea.

Hibiscus, rosehips, roasted chicory, orange peel, blackberry leaves, natural raspberry flavor with other natural flavors (contains soy lecithin), raspberries and raspberry leaves.

I needed to make a pitcher of iced tea today to keep my son and hubby from drinking soda’s all day and so I remember AmazonV telling me and Cofftea that we haven’t lived until we have had raspberry zinger iced tea.

So hoping my son and hubby would share AmazonV’s enthusiasm for this tea I decided to make it and here’s how I did it 4 bags of lipton (the large bags) black tea and 4 bags of Raspberry zinger steeped 15 mins in 2 cups of boiling hot water for 15 minutes then added one cup of sugar and 6 cups of filtered water and VOILA.

So I did a taste test on my son first as he is the most picky of us all and he took a sip and said “You might just be onto something here” with a big smile on his face we all liked it and I will definitely make it again. AmazonV recommends making this with raspberry lipton + Raspberry Zinger but I didn’t have any raspberry lipton. Thanks for the recommendation AmazonV!!! You rock! :)

If you like raspberry flavored iced teas try it!

Oh, nostalgia! This tea tastes like the ’90s! My first creaky, crazy house – rented. I can picture the orange (!!!) formica countertops in the kitchen, and my green kettle. I must have drank about 50 boxes of this stuff. I still like it on late, lazy nights with the bag in the cup the whole time and a squeeze of honey.

Enjoying a nice cup of the 1990s before bed. Lazy, leave the bag in the cup raspberry sweetness…just a touch of honey. Pure nostalgia.

Love raspberries & the tangyness of the fruit shines through in this tea. Very sour & very fruity!

This herbal has be best raspberry flavor I have tried! I like it plain. I just tried it with a teaspoon honey for my throat (I’ve been really sick) and the tangy/sweet contrast was mouthwateringly good.

Can’t wait to try it iced mixed with black tea.

If you pride yourself on being a tea connoisseur (raises hand), then you probably have noticed something about raspberry tea: it’s either really “fake” and overly sweet, or it’s pretty freaking awesome. It’s one of those teas that’s a hit or miss. Well, the Raspberry Zinger from Celestial Seasonings is a hit. Big-time. Like bases-loaded, let’s-score-the-winning-run sort of hit.

My favorite thing about this tea is the tartness you can detect: nothing sugary, but a taste slightly sour, like it should be with a raspberry tea. My second favorite thing about the tea is the wonderful aroma. Seriously, candles should smell so good. Basically I’m saying that I love the taste and the smell, so what else do you need?

I’ve never drank the tea iced (I’m a sucker for a cup of hot goodness), but I’ve heard that it makes fantastic iced tea. The listed ingredients for the tea are hibiscus, rosehips, roasted chicory, orange peel, blackberry leaves, natural raspberry flavor with other natural flavors (contains soy lecithin), raspberries and raspberry leaves. Just brew your bag in about 8 ounces of boiling (or near-boiling, in my case) water for around 5 minutes (4 to 6, the company says), and enjoy!

From a sampler of Celestial Seasonings herbals. Definitely raspberry, and definitely zingy. The spice mix blends well with the raspberry flavoring. Very nice, and would be good iced as well.

Whilst I was knitting my teapot cozy, my tea in the teapot got cold. Ironic, eh?

So I’m mixing the cold raspberry zinger with some 7up to have with my lunch. And it’s very tasty and fizzy.

So this smells like raspberry. I steeped this up a short time. This tasted like raspberry but with a tartness. I liked the raspberry part but the tartness perhaps the hibiscus that seems to be in alot of fruit blends made this score lower. I did enjoy the raspberry though.

I love raspberries. I do, however, wish there were more fruit teas without hibiscus. I’m just not a fan of that flavor. So I really enjoy the initial taste of this tea but not the finish. It makes for a decent iced tea, though, and I’ve found myself brewing it pretty frequently for that purpose. (I’d brew it a heck of a lot more often if it wasn’t for the hibiscus, though!)

Drinking this iced. It’s still kind of meh for me. My order of Upton Rote Grutze came in this afternoon, though, so I’ll be having GOOD iced tea soon.

Been drinking this iced all day. Just finished the pitcher. It makes okay iced tea. Just wish it had less hibiscus…

Dry teabag smells like Raspberry Kool-Aid…sweet sweet sweet. While steeping, the tea is a very pink shade and smells much the same, though the sugar smell is toned down a bit, it still smells like raspberry juice. Maybe a sugar added concentrate instead of Kool-Aid.

First sip tastes much like it smells. Definitely raspberry, but not like I am eating a raspberry. It tastes artificially sweetened – Like raspberry Sorbet! It tastes almost exactly like Chapman’s raspberry sorbet. I still like it, but it is a bit strange in a tea. The longer you steep it the more the tartness will come out, though the sweet doesn’t go away so it’s interesting.

Finished up the last of my bags of this. I am having a good time clearing out some teabags at work, though then I will need to get something in here to replace it. I have a mad desire to buy one of David’s Tea’s perfect tea mugs (http://www.davidstea.com/accessories/the-perfect-tea-mug) but recognize it as unnecesary. I just think it would make tea at work so much easier, since I’m always brewing for one. Maybe the beau will clue in and get me one as a semi-surprise someday : )

I totally wanted this tea today – out of nowhere! My work brought in cupcakes and I felt unwell after eating one (way too much icing, etc) so I figured no more sweet teas today. Then what do I do? I pick out the raspberry zinger! I gave it a brief steep time, only 2 or 3 minutes and that was short enough to not allow the hibiscus to develop. Right now, this is an exceedingly pleasant cup. And it even looks sort of Valentines-y! (I never knew I was this into themes…)

Hip to the hop to the hibi-top. Hibiscus! And kool-Aid. : )

I am very very fond of this tea- the “zinger” bit of it (the tartness) is very pleasant and I like to steep this tea very strong and very tart. It does smell very raspberry and it does taste quite a lot like the wild red raspberries that I pick from the yard.

ETS blackcurrant herbal had me craving fruity tisanes so I picked up one of Celestial Seasonings sampler boxes.

I remember trying this tea years ago and not liking it.

I tried this tea again a few days ago… and I still did not like it. Some of their fruity tisanes had been improved (See my note on True Blueberry) but this one had not. It still tastes… I don’t know what it tastes like, not like any raspberry I’ve ever picked. It tastes like pinkness and artificialness though I think it’s supposed to have real raspberry and other natural flavors. Maybe it’s the hibiscus I’m tasting and not liking?

Sugar improves this tea a little but I still don’t like it.

Lives up to it’s name! Tangy, zingy, the raspberry flavor really takes the stage in this tea, mainly in aroma. The hibicus doesn’t sit back though; it comes through full flavor upon drinking, with a slight hint of rose. It’s a quality bagged tea, one of my favorites. I use a dollop of honey to sweeten it, but be wary: oversweetning kills the floral and fruity flavor and makes it unbearable. I had to control my sweet tooth with this tea and back off the honey at first. The sweet and tart of the tea itself with a little help from clover honey is a true treat.

Nice and fruity, just the right amount of tartness. It seemed like I did have to add more sweetener to it than usual (but I do like things sweet). I didn’t really taste the other flavors in it, just raspberry. I can’t wait to try this one mixed with black tea.

This is the most amazing raspberry tea that I’ve ever try in life. I drink it hot just because it leave me to delight the gorgeous fruttylicious smell of raspberry combined with orange peels & hibiscus mix that I really love it!

I use to have perfumes, essential oils and lip-gloss with this fruity spell to stop been tempting of eating artificial flavorings and colorants candies when I got anxiety. Since I try this tea I have something that really is helpful for me to feel apart of sweetest temptations that harm my general health, my stomach and figure with a few pound under me.

I start to control and quiet bads sugars since I were conscience about the power of eating healthy food specially organic, a non-flavor enhancers, non-coloring agents & non-preservatives best knowns as food additives, for more reference visit: http://fooddemocracy.wordpress.com/2007/10/16/food-additives-demystified/

First whiff of this stuff is definitely raspberry. Second smell and closer to the nose is more vegetal. Giving it a hot water bath brings back the raspberry aroma. But I can also smell the ‘tart’ which actually brings rhubarb to mind. I had grabbed some sugar but this doesn’t really need it. It’s a nice balance of sweet & tart and actually tastes of raspberries.

The actual raspberry flavor of this isn’t bad when you single it out. It’s not too artificial. But the rest of the elements of the tea are very weak. I can vaguely taste the hibiscus, but it’s mostly overwhelmed by that generic bland herbal taste most of Celestial Seasonings’ feature. I wouldn’t buy it again. Next time I’ll be looking for a real black tea instead of this sawdust.

I definitely preferred the Wildberry Zinger over this one. Raspberry was still good, but it tasted a little…off. I think it was just Celestial’s raspberry flavoring that I didn’t like too much. Still finished all that I got in the fruit sampler, and I did enjoy it…just not as much.

Color: Dark Purple
Aroma: Lemony/Earthy
Taste: Like a lemon raspberry sorbet with a distinctly raspberry finish. Strong lemonade flavor.
I think it tastes even better when steeped longer and then iced. I will most likely purchase this again, especially in the summer.

It’s my favorite Zinger tea, but that’s not saying much. It’s all hibiscus with nothing else to balance it out.
