Country Peach Passion

My plan was to have something warm and tasty to drink whilst editing photos. Something unfussy so that I could just throw some boiling water in over a teabag, leave the bag in, and immediately get to work.

I remember liking this one a long time ago. I still do :) With the teaspoon of honey I added, it tasted like canned peaches in syrup. When I was done, I just threw some more boiling water over the bag and got back to editing. The second infusion still had a lot of flavor! Perfect tea for when you want something to sip that doesn’t take your full attention. I think I’d also like to tuck a bag into a black cold brewed iced tea for a little added fruity flavor.

Sipdown! Mainly because I’m making room for more teas and the last old bag of this had to go. There were three left so I threw two in a mug. That may have overdone it on the stevia though. I’ve liked this better in the past. It usually has a nice peach flavor. I’m also just tossing an old box of CS berry zinger which I never liked anyone, since it’s mostly hibiscus. Ah well, moving on!

Had it sitting steeping right next to another mug with the True Blueberry in it (for the boyfriend), and the two together made a very pleasant smell. I went ahead and added honey to this before tasting, since I was planning to just have it iced. But I miscalculated the size of my cups, so I now have half a mug of hot peach and a full glass of iced!

Another reviewer mentioned peach-flavored oatmeal – that is exactly what this tea hot reminds me of! It has something non-peachy in it that smells more like a baked good. Like others mentioned too, it’s definitely not tart. It doesn’t taste very much like peaches either though, to me. A lot like the blueberry one, this is really thick and syrup-y, and ends up reminding me of a peach syrup/jam. It tastes like something that would go well on pancakes. Like also happened with the blueberry, I’m finding it difficult to finish this one hot.

Iced though, it’s fairly nice. It’s diluted a bit and the whole tea is much lighter. For some reason it seemed to go a little melon-flavored on me when iced, in a not very pleasant way. It makes it somewhat sour, so I’m guessing that may be the hibiscus finally coming out.

Every day I drink an ancient tea (3+ years) from my cupboard, I give myself a pat on the back :D Go me!

So this one’s old, but not too old. As in, I think it is still going to taste reasonably true. Certainly smells like it! The dry teabag had little scent, but once it hit the water it did smell like delicious peachy goodness. I can smell a bit of creaminess too.

I remember as a kid always thinking that the peach-flavoured teabags were the best, and then heaping tons of honey into them because they were never as sweet as I wanted. Thankfully my palate has matured, and I no longer require massive amounts of sweetener, as long as a tea is not oversteeped and has some flavour.

I must say that this does taste like a bagged tea to me. Whether it’s the influence of the bag itself (i.e. papery taste) or just associations of this tea with bagged tea, I can’t tell. It is actually sweet, and the flavour does remind me of peaches, though. It’s actually a little bit like Southern Belle from DavidsTea, although with more peaches and no black tea (duh, it’s a herbal).

This tea may have lost much of its flavor from being open in my cupboard for so long. I’m not really getting but the faintest hint of peach and something rooibos tasting/cardboardy, so I will not rate this tea. At least it is something warm to drink as my heating blanket attempts to warm me up from the outside.

So I’m in love with my new tea kettle! :3 It boils water so fast. What in the world was I doing not using one of these?!
This tea is actually really good. I bet it’d be great cold. It tastes like peach and it is somehow not really artificial tasting. It reminds me of peach rings. I’m loving these herbal blends.

One of the last few bags in a Celestial Seasonings herbal sample. I was feeling peach rooibos that night but misremember getting two steeps out of it and knew I wasn’t going to be drinking a second cup of tea that night. So I chose this because it was also peach. I remember it being one of my least favorites from the box but I need to finish the box and I had a few bags of this left. The rest of the box has been fruity and decent. But this peach is definitely my least liked in the box. The peach part of it is fine. But there is this sour yucky flavor. Maybe it is the passion. I don’t like it much.

So I needed something sweet at work and bought the fruit sampler. This one reminds me of peaches and sugar cookies. It has a nice bakey note to it.

Peachy! Wonder whether CC has reformulated this? It smells peachy and it tastes peachy and it looks peachy — even though hibiscus is listed, it didn’t turn this ruby red and the flavor I’m getting is peach, not tang.

I cold-brewed this. Would be delicious brewed strong and over ice, or mixed with a lighter black tea or maybe a green tea.

Nice when you just want a pleasant sweet fruity topper-offer. Not a lot of extraneous spices. Just warm peach cobbler.

I picked this up at the store because I needed something caffeine free to have in the evenings. I didn’t expect it to be very good, but it really is nice. Even though it contains hibiscus, it isn’t overly tart. It is sweet and juicy just like a peach. As it cools the tea becomes sweeter and is almost like drinking juice rather than tea. I really like this one.

Glanford KK Tasting Note

This tea is one of a few that I use at my site for movie day, in place of pop and other not so great drinks. I love this tea because it takes minimal amounts of sugar and the kids love it hot or cold.

This tea is a nice, peachy herbal tea. I like the undertones of passionfruit and hibiscus, and a dab of honey brings the fruity taste out nicely. It’s comparable to Bigelow’s Perfect Peach, but I like this one better.

I like the taste of this tea; it reminds me of peaches’n’cream instant oatmeal. Neither the tea or the oatmeal truly tastes like the peaches grown in my region of the world — but I like it nonetheless. The only other peach tea I’ve had that I would rate better than this would be Lipton’s discontinued Sunspree Peach.

I had this earlier today but the site was acting weird…so…I wasn’t sure if I would like this one because the last few CS Herbals I have had have been to sweet and fruity for my liking but this one wasn’t bad at all and I think it would be even better iced.

I love peach! Raw peaches, canned peaches, ice cream, candy, you name it, I love it! I bought this tea and with pretty much any tea, I sweetened it with a few packets of Splenda, because I like at least a little bit of sweetness to my teas. I think I could have gone without any sweetener though, so I may try it again tomorrow. As soon as the hot water hit the tea bag, I could instantly smell the wonderful aroma of juicy peaches. I almost tastes like a baked good with peaches or peaches and cream oatmeal. I really enjoy this tea and since I got it in a celestial seasonings fruit tea sampler, I will be buying this one again on my next grocery shopping trip. If you like peaches, or any kind of fruity sweet tea, I would definitly check this one out.

First smell – Peaches! Almost smells like the peach juice I drank at Timmies as a kid, while waiting for my Dad to finish his tea.

First taste – Definitely still peachy, though there are other flavours that aren’t as sweet and fruity. A little more flowery than expected, though after looking at the ingredient list, that makes sense. Fun note – Paprika is the last listed ingredient. It does make a pretty teabag : )

All in all, it’s tasty enough and would satisfy a craving were I suddenly nuts for something peachy, but not a re-buy. Of the three Celestial Seasonings I’ve had so far, Blueberry is the clear winner.

This tasted like a non-sweet peach when no sugar was added. So obviously, I added sugar. About two spoons of sugar this time which was just enough to make this taste more peachy. The smell of this tea bag was mostly peach and something I can’t identify. There was no string for the tea bag, so a spoon had to be used. I think this tea is flavorful enough to make a second cup, but beyond that I don’t think it will taste right. Nice, but kind of boring. Maybe as an iced tea (I haven’t tried it as an iced tea yet), but hot peaches? Kinda odd. Not really anything special unless you are a huge fan of peaches. I do like peaches, but it doesn’t taste of peach as I wanted it to be.

I didn’t think I’d like this because of its sweet smell, so I didn’t add any sweetener (normally I add a teaspoonful of raw honey or rock cane sugar to almost everything). It doesn’t taste as sweet as it smells; I mostly tasted the hibiscus. Tolerable, but Celestial Seasonings makes better.

But I admit its not just straight peach. Its almost peach perfume with a sweet undercurrent that I couldn’t quite place (but the notes list chamomile and blackerry leaf). But this doesn’t take away from the sweet flavors. Only that perhaps this is slightly like an artistic representation of a peach, not one smooshed into a teabag.
