From Celestial Seasonings

“There’s no mistaking a Zinger® – especially when it’s a Sweet Zinger Ice™! This most exotic of Zingers combines ripe, juicy mangos and antioxidant-rich acaí berries from the Amazon rainforest with lively hibiscus and just the right amount of natural sweetness from the herb stevia. It’s a thirst-quenching zero-calorie way to experience Acaí Mango Zinger again for the first time!” — Charlie Baden, Celestial Seasonings Blendmaster Since 1975

This tea is truly disgusting. While it is in your mouth, it tastes like lightly flavored water that has been watered down with stale ice cubes, and when you swallow it, you are hit with an artificially sweet aftertaste that induces gaging. I can’t get all the way through a glass without dumping it out. It cannot be drunk hot or iced.

As a side note, I love the non-iced, non-pre-sweetened version of this tea. I bought this one accidentally, because the boxes are nearly identical, and I was in a hurry and not paying attention. So, learn from my mistake: Apparently the new “Sweet Iced Tea” line from Celestial Seasonings has to hide in boxes that look like the original teas’ packaging to dupe people into buying them. Don’t fall for it! Look at the entire box, don’t just glance!!!!

Bought on accident (thought it was just a regular Acai Mango tea), brewed as usual, was quite confused when I tasted sweetener in there.

The fake sweetener taste definitely screws up the taste, but the tea itself isn’t half bad. I’d definitely buy the regular kind if I can ever find it, granted I do plan on continuing to drink this stuff. Its better cold for me, I taste less of that gross artificial taste, but its not terrible warm either. As with all tisanes, I steep it for a long time, so I might be tasting it significantly different than others.
