Candy Cane Lane

Green Tea by Celestial Seasonings

What could be better than the delectable taste of an old-fashioned candy cane? Candy Cane Lane is an irresistible blend of peppermint, creamy vanilla and a dash of cinnamon and sweet blackberry leaves. Best of all, it’s made with antioxidant-rich decaffeinated green tea, so you can enjoy health and flavor this holiday season.

It was Christmastime and as I strolled down the tea aisle in the local grocery store, I saw this festive tea. It is certainly an interesting idea for a tea so I decided to give it a try. This was my first tea from Celestial Seasonings and I have to say that I’m looking forward to trying more from them. The initial scent of the tea is exactly like a candy cane. The tea also tastes remarkably like a minty candy cane, and it’s very enjoyable. The package says that this comes on a green tea base but it tasted more herbal to me than anything. Nevertheless, this is a great tea to try if you are fortunate enough to find it.

Drank this today because I didn’t want any caffeine. I am never impressed with the taste of it (there isn’t really any taste), but the smell is awesome. I usually drink this when I am sick or can’t have any caffeine, but it takes me forever to get through a whole box.

Another horrible-feeling-stomach day today, so I had to pull out this tea. It really helps (along with Sprite Zero)… usually “Tension Tamer” tea is my bad-stomach-go-to, but I forgot to restock that, so CCL fills in nicely.

I had a stress-induced heavy duty stomach ache this morning, so I had to go for something gentle & minty, and this was exactly what I needed. It sure didn’t wake me up, but it made me feel well enough to be able to eat lunch! Tastes and smells pretty amazing as well—much love to Candy Cane Lane!

I’m nursing a super sore throat today so I pulled this out. It’s very light and slightly sweet so it works fairly well as a “comfort” tea. It’s probably my favourite decaf tea that I’ve tried—I always forget how much I like it!

This is a good “upset stomach” tea, which is what I used it for today. I wish it actually had some flavour to it, but the incredible smell almost makes up for the bland minty green tea taste. Still not a favourite, but I upped the rating just a bit because I do usually enjoy it when I have some.

Yummy for nighttime green tea or anytime you don’t want plain green or caffeine. I like it and have an extra box for back up. I heard someone suggest that brewing this and adding a packet of hot chocolate makes for a mighty fine holiday drink. Haven’t tried it, but might soon!

Birthday night. Lots of homemade lasagna and Carvel cake. A bit of a tummy ache called for this tea and it’s a perfect remedy and a great way to end the night!

I initially avoided this tea, thinking it would be like Celestial Seasoning’s “Blow Your Head Off” Peppermint. But I read Jillian’s suggestion to try this tea. I’m so glad I did. It’s now become one of the daily after dinner teas Mom and I drink. It’s sweet, minty, doesn’t rev you up and soothes the digestive tract. Thanks again, Jillian.

This tea tastes great at any time of the year! It soothes me while I’m at work. I love the mint flavor and the fact that you don’t have to add sweetener.

I’ve tried this a few times. Unfortunately, the first couple of times, I kept forgetting that there was green tea in it, so I steeped it with boiling-hot water, which made it bitter. When I let the water boil and then waited for the steam to subside, it definitely turned out much better. It’s very smooth and minty, and the decaf green tea somehow makes the flavor feel more complete than other herbal peppermint teas, but at the same time it’s a little off-putting. I don’t usually like green tea, but I like this tea. The other flavors were sort of strange and it felt like they were just a backdrop to the mint and green tea flavors.

I tried a cup of this at my local coffee shop this afternoon. I had added soy milk and a pinch of sugar but wasn’t really impressed with it. It wasn’t bad but all I could pick out was peppermint. I added a tiny bit of agave when I got home and voila, candy cane! It was delicious and I’ll probably pick up a box of this the next time I’m out.

I really love it – although there is vanilla in it. Very yummy green tea – no matter if you drink it hot or cold, with or without milk. Too bad I need to buy CCL via eBay :o(

This tea tastes like Christmas to me. The peppermint, creamy vanilla, all layered gently with a mild, non-astringent green tea, make it an easy tea to have cups and festive cups of.

This was my last bag of this one. I really like this, though I don’t usually like peppermint. There is something creamy about it, as it is supposed to be vanilla. And I love anything vanilla. It does taste like a candy cane. This is one of the better Celestial Seasonings that I’ve tried. Nutcracker Suite is my favorite though.

Definitely a great tea – naturally sweet, heady vanilla, plenty o’ mint. Love!

One of my faves. Love that it is a decaf green that requires no sugar.

I really enjoyed this tea. I love peppermint teas but they are a bit sharp to me sometime. This one has a beautiful soft vanilla finish which tames the tea and balances the flavors out

Really delicious mellow minty tea. The vanilla note definitely gives this a candy cane flavor, as opposed to a peppermint green tea. Personally, I wish the mint flavor was a little bit more pronounced, but I have a million peppermint teas if I am looking for a mintier cup. Definitely really tasty and refreshing tea, perfect to end the day.

Totally delicious, Rich Green Tea with cooling Mint and the perfect dash of Cinnamon. I found that this is one tea that you don’t need anything to add to it. You don’t need sugar or creme/milk to add to it to make it perfect. Just steep and sip this one. Perfect for curling up with the one you love in front of a heater or fireplace cuddling and watching the perfect movie. Two thumbs up!

Green tea, peppermint, and vanilla — what’s not to like? I always add a dash of cinnamon sugar, since I’ve never tasted the “dash of cinnamon” already in it, and it adds a wonderful spicy element. Always my go-to when I’m queasy or sick.

Received this one as a gift from my mother (although I may have prompted her, a little). Very pleasant way to end my day. Peppermint is the strongest taste I notice, but there is also a certain creaminess that I think is vanilla, and the warmth of cinammon near the end. The green tea adds a nice grassy/woodsy flavor and complements the spices nicely.

I do wish that there were a caffeinated version, though, if only because decaff teas creep me out a little bit.

I will definitely rebuy this.

My wife really likes this tea, and I tend to agree with her.
Trader Joe’s sells the same stuff but in different packaging….

It has a very nice mint taste, along with a few other flavors I can’t quite describe, but it is fuller and (in my opinion) better than normal green tea with mint.
It’s nice that it’s decaffeinated as well.

Rating –
For green tea w/ mint: 90/100
For Celestial Seasonings: 90/100
Overall: 85/100 (It compares well to similar teas and is one of my favorite Celestial seasonings, but it isn’t among my most favorite teas)

A nice decaf tea for when the evening is winding down. The peppermint flavor is quite nice. The vanilla flavor’s a bit strong, so I’m tempted to seek out something that’s just peppermint for comparison.

backlogging for yesterday

I really do love this cup of tea. So much that I just changed my rating to 100 for it. With Sufjan’s Stevens holiday music in the background, it’s just that kind of day!

lots and lots of this over the past few days

I will be drinking massive quantities of this today as I attempt to clear out my inboxes for the holidays! I’ll be back on Steepster once I’ve completed this big todo!

Love this stuff! I’m having a cup to celebrate my husband’s lunchtime purchase of a box of green tea from Celestial Seasonings for his office. If it goes well, he’s going to branch out and try some of the things in my green tea collection!

backlogging from yesterday.

I am totally bummed out that this is nearly impossible to come by in my town. I’ve looked all over and the other Celestial Seasoning Holiday Teas are here, but I’m not really a fan of any of the others. I’ve resorted to purchasing a few of these from the website (with high shipping, and a guarantee to just squeak in here before christmas). It’s totally worth it, though. :)

I have no idea how I’ll get through all these holiday teas I got this year before the holidays are over! It’s a good thing they’re all so tasty. I’m having a cup of this now, while brewing a pitcher of Rishi’s iced mint rooibos. I’ve been reading so much about mint rooibos here lately, was waiting to blend the rooibos and mint I have at my office, and I totally forgot that I had a way of trying some in the house!

I had a cup of this while learning to play Power Grid. So it’s still the holidays around here!

Having a cup while looking out the window at snow and getting ready to post my snow pictures to Flickr. :)
