Cinnamon Apple Spice

I really tried liking this tea. I really tried. It smells nice and the apple flavor is there, it’s juicy and refreshing. What’s wrong? That damn cinnamon! It’s too overpowering and pungent that borders on “artificial”. I guess I cannot blame them, they do say Cinnamon first in the title. Maybe I incorrectly assumed what I was going to be drinking? I wanted apple first,…..then a little bit of cinnamon next..maybe vanilla to round it out?
Another review said it was like “drinking Big red Gum only with apples”..that’s perfectly states what this tea is about. If you like “Red Hots” or any spicy hot cinnamon candy then this is for you

This is not the greatest tea ever by any stretch of the imagination, but it is quite nice before bed with a bit of honey and cream. The taste is heavy on cinnamon with just a hint of apple and I can see why some may not be fond of this tea. However, this is a decent caffeine free choice for around $2 a box.

Love this tea when I have a head cold! The cinnamons strong enough to clear my sinus’s and the apple is a nice after flavor. BUT if I’m not sick it actually burns my sinus so bad I become stuffy and my eyes water! I do keep this as a staple though. Love to have it on hand for when a cold starts, it seems to chase it away real quick. So I guess this would be a medical tea for me.

Wow, tough crowd, eh? =) So, ya. This is cinnamon tea with some apple sweetness. If you’re looking for the cinnamon to modify the apple with grace and subtlety, you’ll need to steep elsewhere.

But y’know? I like it. I like that I don’t need to put any sugar in it. I like that it’s fragrant and tastes strongly of, well, itself. I just leave the bag in ‘til I’m done drinking, so I’m not afraid to steep. I didn’t taste any bitterness, but maybe that’s just me.

I kinda feel like I should take my taste buds to the Met, Broadway, or a Zagat-rated restaurant to, I dunno, get them some of that culture stuff, or something. =]

I still can’t smell very well, so staying away from the high quality teas until I can really appreciate them again. This herbal is pretty fun in the meantime. The hibiscus and apple flavor blend together really well. The cinnamon really comes out mid-sip and gets stronger as you go. The aftertaste is a little sweet and distinctly cinnamon spicy. I love cinnamon. I can see how people would find it overwhelming here, though. For me, it’s just the right amount.

Delicious. Tastes like hot apple cider. Very fragrant, but in a good way.

Someone said the smell-assault of this one made it like drinking potpouri.
That’s a bad thing?
I don’t really think it is. And I always know with CS teas, I can have this in my mega huge cup and not worry about a ‘failure to perform’ (yea, I am looking at you Stash Pumpkin Spice) or even better somedays (when the nurses don’t steal my cup as dead & dusted) when I can have 2 cups with the same bag.

In regards to this one, I admit its hardcore cinnamon stylin’ with an apple twist. Fab for a cold night, better with a fire in the fireplace. Think apple cider with a tea who isn’t afraid to let everyone know what you are having.

I tried this one a couple of times, hoping I’d end up liking it. I’ve been looking for a nice apple tea (although I think what I really want is Beaver Tails apple cider and trying to convince myself that tea will do) and bought this on sale. Unfortunately, the spice taste is waaay too strong. It barely tastes like apple It’s all the spices, with a ton of cinnamon and a slight tartness that I’m assuming is what little apple flavour there is coming through. Ugh. Now I have to find something to do with the rest of the box I bought.

I went tea shopping today and I saw this tea peaking out of one of the shelves! I bought it thinking it would taste really good. It turns out that I’m a fool of a took! This tea was a nightmare. When it was steeping it smelled like cinnamon bananas.. strange. Also it has a really weird after taste. I probably won’t be drinking this again.

So, I didn’t drink this one plain – I used 2 teabags of it, and 1 teabag of Bengal Spice, in a HUGE mug, and added a splash of milk to make kind of a cinnamon apple chai-type thing. I was prepared for the spice to potentially overwhelm the apple flavor, but it was pleasantly surprising when I took a sip and got both the cinnamon-spice and the apple flavor. Going to consider the experiment a success!

My favorite tea right now—maybe just because it’s fall and I haven’t tried many spiced teas yet. But I just love the smell and the fact that it’s sweet and spicy on its own without me having to add any sweetener. The longer I steep the better.

I am an herbal fan so I really enjoy this one. I’ve found (by accident) that the longer you steep, the sweeter it gets. I don’t have to cover it up with sweetener. It’s definitely heavier on the ‘cinnamon spice’ component than the apple component.

My first impression is of Good Earth tea with apple flavor. I taste a strong but soft cinnamon biggest, then apple, with some slight tartness. It is plenty sweet without any sweetener added. This is relaxing and caffeine free. I look forward to trying it with milk.

I’m sad to say that I don’t like this at all. It just tastes off to me, and I love cinnamon and heavy spice teas normally. This one has a weird after taste that I just don’t enjoy. Too perfumed and not enough natural taste.

A shame, because it sounded lovely.

This is one of the first teas I’ve ever had! I’m backlogging, of course. This tea had a decent balance between cinnamon and apples, and it was actually quite pleasant. Smelled like apple cider and was a nice drink for autumn. If I could find a nice apple+cinnamon tea loose leaf tea like this, I may never consider trying it again. Suggestions welcome!

I think this is the kind of tea you either love or hate. Some people have commented that was too strong. For starters, no one should be buying Celestial Seasonings if they don’t like their tea strong! I found the tea enjoyable, though I may steep it a little less next time. Maybe it’s because my taste buds are so adapted to chai tea that spices aren’t as overwhelming as they once were. Simply put, this is a tea for people who like strong spicy teas. It wasn’t as good as other teas I’ve had, but it certainly wasn’t as bad as I feared from some of the comments here.

I’m only on my first few sips of my first cup…But I don’t feel like continuing. To be fair to the tea(which I so want to love), I am developing a bit of a cold which throws off all taste, but after a 5 minute steep this tea tastes like cinnamon and chemicals. Ordinarily, I leave the teabag in for the duration of a cup of tea, but this one might do best with a much shorter steep time, despite package directions of 4 to 6 minutes steeping. This cup, sadly, will do it’s best work down the drain as I just won’t make myself drink it.

And, as everyone has said, if strong tea smells (particularly of cinnamon) bother you, then don’t go here.

This is exactly what I want in a fall tea. Love the cinnamon and the apple. I find that the spice/cinnamon is prominent, but that it’s balanced with the apple or sweetness. This is a great, sweet tea without the need of sugar or honey. I admit that there is a strange aftertaste.. and I’m not sure what that is. I’m too distracted by the other flavors, though. Perfect for this time of year!

Cinnamon is one of my favourite flavors, so I love this tea. The apple comes through more as background sweetness than as actual apple flavor, which to my tastebuds balances the cinnamon nicely. I usually let this steep for at least five minutes, or it’s too bland for me. I’ve not noticed any bitterness, as noted below.
