So much yum. Just the way I remember. Perfectly cherry!! and almond. Indugent and comforting. Oh yes. I do wish it was a tad stronger in the flavour. It wouldn’t stand up to a latte. Still gonna try it one of these days.
I’m on staycation with the boy, so added a few drops of triple sec, inspired by the “blueberry tea” recipe… amarreto, grand marnier, and tea. The true alcohol version actually does taste like the berry, despite a lack of anything blue in the ingredients. My concoction today is quite delish, but not blueberry though. Still, I am a happy girl.
Nostalgia lives here :)

Somebody likes Cherry. I’ve had two Cherry teas. One by a company I can’t remember a long time ago, with decent straight cherry flavor. Also a number of years ago; Stash had a Cherry Almond tea that’s very tasty. I think they still carry it.

Indigobloom

I adore cherry! True cherry, not the medicinal cough drop type. Will have to keep my eye out for the Stash version. Thanks!!

ScottTeaMan

I didn’t realize there were that many cherry blends! I haven’t had the Stash Cherry Almond in probably 12-13 years, and I’ve only tried their teabag version, which they’ve discontinued. It’s been a long time, but the teabags were delicious, and did not taste any artificial anything. It makes me want to try the loose version. :D

Here’s a link to the loose version on the Stash website:

I made a post showing Stash’s Canadian shipping roughly 5 years ago [then $15], Now: $19.95 up to $50! I would look online for perhaps a shipping discount there, or call them and ask for a slight reduction-wouldn’t hurt to ask! :D

I haven’t ordered from Stash in a couple years (website), but if I do I’ll order some and send some to you. How much is small package post from Ohio to Toronto?

Evol Ving Ness

Shouldn’t be much. A bubble envelope is probably the cheapest packet option.

Indigobloom

We could definitely do a swap! Cherry for cherry :)
It shouldn’t be too much, like @Evol said. It’s been a long time since I swapped teas by mail. Fun!!!

Here’s Black Forest Tea from Stash with natural flavorings, including cherry & chocolate! Looks delicious, but I’ve never tried it. :D

Arby

The black forest one is really gross. I’ve had it a few times and it isn’t worth drinking. I’m actually a big stash fan girl and I love black forest (chocolate + cherry = win!), but this tisane is gross.

Indigobloom

Totally with you on the ickness Arby! The Stash Christmas blend is the only one of theirs I am hooked on. I can’t recall the exact name but it has jasmine and black tea in it. So good. But I am totally willing to try more. Just not the black forest. Never again haha.

ScottTeaMan

The Black Forest isn’t a tisane, because it has tea in the blend:

Ingredients
Black tea, cocoa shells, hibiscus, natural chocolate flavor, vanilla extract, natural cherry flavor.

Although I see the dreaded Hibiscus is an ingredient, and blends usually are overly tart (overdone) with it, which I do not like, and is another reason for me to rethink purchasing Black Forest.

Indi, sounds like their Christmas Morning blend. I love it!! I’ve only gotten the teabags, but I drink it every season for Many years. You can smell the Jasmine and it gives the bend a smooth lightly flowery taste (if that makes sense). My Christmas Morning review from December 12-13, 2011:

Indigobloom

@ScottTeaMan I don’t recall the black forest being tart. Maybe it was merely that batch of teas that was terrible. If the assembly line forgot ingredients etc, I can see it being bland.

Yes, the Christmas Morning! Love it. Odd, because I despise jasmine teas. In that blend, it seems to work for me and I’ve never figured out why, other than it could be added in a small enough quantity that it imparts only a smidge of flavour

I loved this blend. The perfect combo of nutty almond and cherry. So comforting.

I really like the black base of this one. It’s mild and not overpowering. This one has lovely cherry and almond flavour to it. It isn’t overly sweet, which is nice. This one lets the flavours come through without overwhelming in sweetness. And it has a nice balance of cherry and almond. I’m not finding one to overpower the other.
I really think this would make a great latte. I think that will be my next thing to try!

Indigobloom

I ordered a sampler of this one. SO looking forward to it. After your review I’m really excited!

TheKesser

Yeah I was very surprised by this one in some ways. It was a bit weird at first that something amaretto wasn’t super sweet, but once I got past that, I was in love.

Indigobloom

I had it long ago. But my tastes have changed so I hope it still works for me. Agreed about the lack of sweetness being odd, I remember thinking that way back when it was under teaopia!

I love all things cherry. Amaretto just makes me happy. This tea is a nice combo of those two flavors. The black base is a little light for my taste. All in all I really like this but could be amazing with a different base.
