Going to keep a bit and try cold brewed but am also going to send some to swappin-friends. A small hot cup is a nice cup…see previous notes…

This is another one of the teas I received in a trade with silvermage2000/Ashley.

The smell of this tea…wow, it’s just incredible. I open the bag and instantly I’m bombarded with scents of luscious mango, peaches, and papayas with undertones of rose. If they made a perfume out of this tea I would so totally buy it!

I’ve never had a green rooibos tea before – I’m not a huge fan of it’s red cousin, but people have said that the flavour is considerably different, so I was willing to give this tea a shot. The taste starts out similar to a red rooibos tea, though not as woody or tart, and then it changes into tropical fruity goodness (yum!). The tail end of the flavour has an refreshing taste with ‘bright’ notes. Seriously, I don’t know what words to use to describe them. There’s a lingering floral aftertaste, just a faint hint of rose, nothing artifical or unpleasent.

This tea gets a solid thumbs up!

oh this sounds wonderful! I’ve never tried green rooibos, so your description is very helpful. added to shopping list

Jillian

Well the problem with a blended tea is that I’m not quite sure if what I’m tasting is the rooibos base or the added flavours. But I do think that I wouldn’t enjoy this tea as much if it were made with red rooibos. :)

I got this in a swap a looong time ago from someone, and just never got to it. I was looking for a cold brew candidate last night, and this sounded good. In the bag, it smells very delicious and fruity and tropical.

After cold brewing, I took a sip and didn’t taste much. Disappointing. I decided to add a bit of sugar and WOW did it make the flavors pop. I haven’t had much green rooibos, so I’m not sure what it tastes like, but I’m not getting any of the medicinal smells or flavors that I can get with red rooibos. The papaya is the main flavor, while all the other flavors kinda mix together behind that to give a general fruitiness. This is reminding me of something I’ve had but I can’t quite think of what. I absolutely love tropical flavors, so I’m really enjoying this. Too bad I only have about enough left for one more cup!

Wow. Holy medicinal papaya batman. I took one swallow ha hubby take one swallow and this pot went down the drain. I think it may have just been too much leaf but after that first sip it needed to go. I’m in the minority here, so by all means please try this tea.

Cofftea

I’m officially screwed up (but we knew that) the second I read your score, my brain went “7…!… MUST TRY!” LOL!

Meghann M

LOL. Sometimes I think that too.

Jaime

The description sounds so promising. But I’m totally stealing the “holy medicinal papaya batman” line! I’m with Cofftea, must try!

I received some of this in a swap with a friend of mine.

Nice and fruity. I prefer green rooibos to red rooibos, the green rooibos seems to have more of a fresh, light taste instead of the woodsy taste I get from the red. I also find that there is less of that artificial saccharine-y taste to the green rooibos.

Very pleasant tropical flavor. Sweet. Nice.

It’s suppose to snow like 6 inches tonight. I so want something to get my mind of that. Jamaica sounds nice. This tea will do for now.

This tea reminds me of Todd and Holland’s Brazilian Delight. I prefer that one, the fruit stands up nicer. This is my first experience with green rooibos. I think I prefer the red, since I love how rich it is. But I would try more blends with green rooibos.

I get the medicinal feeling, too like Meghann. It has a rather small Coldeeze dryness on my tongue. That might be the papaya. The blend is good, nice aftertaste. I would of enjoyed more fruit, like pineapple in it…mmmm.

Thank you LiberTea for this tea. I really needed it after driving though unplowed snowed out streets. :)

Oooh, relating tea to Coldeeze….not good. At least it is a seasonally appropriate drink :)

And I feel you on the snow, I just survived the blizzardy drive on the way home from work (live farther south, but in IL too).
