Long Island Strawberry Sencha

Green Tea by Culinary Teas

This sencha based tea is the best strawberry green we have ever tasted! Tart and sweet and as strong as a strawberry puree. Incredible iced and delicious hot.

I’ve really been falling in love with strawberry teas lately. And most recently flavored sencha’s have been in my top teas as well. This tea makes the list. Such a sweet succulent berry flavor. I will definitely be checking out more teas from Culinary teas…as soon as I make room in my cupboard. A friend at work purchased 8-10 different teas for me for my birthday, plus the recent Teavana and Harney’s orders, plus hubby took me to Teavana for more teas….I’ve got some time before I can decupboard anything. Glad I got a chance to try this tea, thanks again to LauraR and her wonderful sample package!

Finishing up this delightful sample from Laura R. I really enjoy the smooth sweet strawberry and the buttery sencha. I find this blend to be much more flavorful and the sencha more tasty than other strawberry greens I’ve tried. I would love to have more of this on hand in the near future.

This is one of the best strawberry teas I’ve had in a while, and definitely the best strawberry GREEN tea! The flavor tastes natural and pure, no artificial Starburst-y flavors. It smells as yummy as it tastes, even as it cools. This reminds me of summer – delightful and fun. A new cupboard essential!

Tried this iced today…even better! I upped the rating since it’s multi-purpose! I will be getting a larger bag; if anyone wants to try some from my sample lemme know. Or perhaps we can split an order? I’m no tea pusher (like QG! :) ) but if you’re looking for a perfect summertime strawberry tea, this is it. :) Simply yummiful! (It’s so good, I invent words for it.)

I love, love, love this one! I haven’t had it in a while – didn’t want to run right through the tin – but opted for it this morning. So glad I did. The strawberry flavor tastes real (not like an additive, or artificial flavor) and is real strong.

Please see other notes – this is one of my faves. :)

OMG – I love this iced, but right now I’m enjoying a hot cuppa. This blend of strawberry and green tea is just HAPPY. :) Please see other notes, this is a fave of mine!

Tried this one iced today! Yums! :) (Please see other tasting notes.)

Thanks for this LiberTEAs! I have been wanting to try this one! I am impressed! This has a wonderful strawberry flavor on top of the sencha. If you can’t have a Long Island Iced Tea with the ‘happy juice’ this is the next best thing!

Ok so the tea I actually had is by tao of tea but my computer is messed up and I can’t load it proper so this will have to do!!! SO FRUSTRATED!
Anyhow, I’m not a big fan of fruity teas, so this will naturally get a lower rating from me. Just an fyi!
The first infusion was far too fruity for me, in a tart way. and too “green”. I suppose I should have washed the leaves first, but I usually don’t have the forethought to do so. Not to mention, I need to get some work done! ha.
Anyhow, the second and third infusion were MUCH better. There was a sweet strawberry note that came out overtop of the green which I really enjoyed. If it had been a deeper base, I may have actually considered repurchasing this one.
Not that far off from my Strawberry White from DTs, but nowhere near as tasty, for me. If you enjoy fruity green teas, this is definitely a must try!!

This is an awesome tea! I started drinking it while it was hot, then, I decided to let it chill. It is absolutely delicious chilled! So refreshing. The berry flavor is well pronounced without tasting fake. It isn’t too sweet, it has a nice berry tartness at the tail. The sencha tastes fresh and light.

I will miss this one, as I’m sending the rest to my Sororitea Sister.

Oh, steepster! I’ve missed you!

I went on a last minute cruise with my family to the bahamas and sadly, cruises have terrible drinking water that is not fit to waste tea leaves on. While the beaches were great I will definitely travel there by some route other than boat next time – it was hard being tea less for a week!

Anyway, just before I left I cold brewed this (3 tsp. to 27 oz. water) to drink on the car ride to the boat. It was SO GOOD, even unsweetened. The tea smelled wonderfully strawberry and yet still had a strong green background and I have a feeling that adding sweetener in my traditional amounts for an iced tea will be amazing!

I have a bunch of this to use up and I am SO, SO GLAD!

Mmm…strawberry sencha, it’s been too long. The smell of the leaf, both steeped and dry, is very strong on the strawberry, but that’s fine by me – it’s one of my favorite fruits.

Brewed 2 heaping tsp. at the below parameters in my Breville, with no additives. I’ve found that 2 minutes is the sweet spot for this particular tea – it strikes a balance of tart strawberry and sweet sencha – which makes me happy because I’m drinking tea to taste tea, not just the fruit.

I like this both hot and iced – one of the few teas I own that has that distinction. A wonderful choice for tonight!

Made 1/2 gallon iced using 16 g. leaf at parameters stated below.
I think a shorter steeping time might actually have been a little better – it seemed to get a little astringent towards the end of the sip. I left it unsweetened and added it into a fabulous smoothie after my run, though, and the astringency was lost, thank goodness.

I do so love this tea cold!

Cold brewed 1/2 gallon today for 6.5 hours, using 8 level tsp. tea.

I wanted something fruity and iced today – and this was a great choice, especially the steep time used. The liquor is a pale green and the scent/taste is very strawberry. The green tea taste that is present is more toward the back of the sip, but it is grassy and sweet, with no astringency whatsoever.

A nice choice for what will likely be my last cold brew for a while.

Very smooth strawberry taste. A little sweet. I think I will add a lot more dry leaf to brew next time, it came out kind of weak. I might brew it with twice the amount, like with Den’s teas perimeters for Japanese brewing. I drank it iced.

I’m fairly certain this is the tea I had at Snakes and Lattes. I had it iced with a bit of sugar and it was light and fruity, and exactly what I wanted.

Refreshing tea. The taste of the strawberry is prominent and doesn’t taste artificial at all. This will be a staple in my home, for sure!
